LIVE! Amber stands in front of the camera with a neutral look on her face – she had tasted success against an up-and-comer in Randi Levitt, but was quickly slapped back to reality when she stepped into the ring with Serenity Holmes. Despite the bitter taste of defeat, Amber still wears a smile on her face as she takes a couple steps toward the camera that Jennie is holding.
“Y’know, as I stand in front of this camera and I think about my opponent this week…I think about how I could do what she does! I could be like everybody else, and go through your whole history, and try to tell you what you’ve done, what you haven’t done, who trained you, who hasn’t, but I’m not gon’ do any of that, and why? ‘Cause none of that matters!” Amber states boldly, seemingly to loosen up a little bit and find her groove.
The camera moves up and down as if nodding, and Jennie’s hand can be seen to tell her to roll with it.
“Let me tell you something, doll! Everybody I’ve gone up against has made a statement about all of those things… They’ve told me who trained me, and y’know what, these fans, and myself, I don’t need to hear who trained me! I know who trained me! But none of the people who trained me are getting in the ring and fighting my fight for me. I’m fighting my fight! I’m making a name for myself! And– best trainers in the world– but do you think I want the first thing you think about me to be my trainers? You’re fucking mistaken! Okay?” Amber continues still in stride with that looming confidence building in her tone.
“Let me tell you about a little girl… a little girl who would sit and watch everything she could about professional wrestling! Every single show, every single promotion, and everytime that they came close–” she snaps her fingers at the camera, “–she had to be there! But this little girl, she didn’t have anyone to get her foot in the door… No, no, no, no, no, she had to go out and fight for it! She had to go out and earn it! She had to earn the connections! She had to save every penny to be trained, and trained right, because she knew that one day… THIS IS WHAT SHE WOULD DO! But never once did that little girl ever think that people would be so focused on her trainers that they forgot her… And that little girl?”
She cocks her head a little to the side, and flashes a quick smile, “That little girl is ready to get into the ring and start making sure all of y’all start remembering her name! IT’S AMBER VOGEL! And when I go into the ring with Rosa DeLuca this week…she’s going to remember damn well who I am, and she’s going to know damn well what I can do. BET!”
