On the way home from a local Exxon store...
The sun was setting as R.A. Marshall, riding a BMX, turned onto a side street and head towards his home on Beetle Drive. As he calmly pedaled down the sidewalk, carrying a bag of snacks from a nearby convenience storn in the front basket. he heard a powerful Hemi motor turn onto the street as well as the sound of a honking horn.
"Shit!"
Robert, who had been given the nickname "RAM" earlier that same day in school, began to race faster down the road as a 2018 Ram 1500 pickup closed in. Sticking his head out of the passenger door was Bobby Figgins, the school's star quarterback who had a run-in with the young RAM in after-school detention a week prior.
"Hey, RAM-bo! How's the ride goin' for ya?!"
The driver, star wideout Travis Holland, cackled with glee.
"I heard he's been gawking at that nerdy chick in the cafeteria!"
Bobby smirked and blew a kiss towards RAM from his side of the truck.
"Here's a pro-tip on chicks, little boy -- you gotta learn to survive after getting DUMPED!!"
RAM became so distracted by the blown kiss that he veered sharply to the right and onto a front yard. He then turned his head around too late and crashed into a large oak tree, sending him, his bike, and his cargo flying head of heels. RAM hit the side of the tree face-first as the BMX landed on top of him. The jocks in the pickup truck laughed out loud and taunted him as they sped away.
"Watch out for that tree, George!!"
A middle-aged woman wearing a green dress and flowing brown hair raced outside her front door to render any aid she could. RAM was bleeding profusely from his nose and mouth after hitting the tree.
"Hey! Young man, are you alright?!"
Marshall tried to pull himself up, but he eventually passed out from the pain.
"Easy there! Easy...!!"
As RAM slumped against the tree, the woman called out a familiar name.
"RYDIAAAA!!!"
Rydia -- the woman's daughter and RAM's newfound friend, peeked out the front door.
"Some kid just bashed into our front tree and cut himself really good. C'mon and help me get him inside; we'll get him cleaned up!"
Rydia and her mother managed to carry the unconscious R.A. Marshall into the house, leaving the wrecked bike -- and a trail of lost goodies -- in the grass.
