April was sitting on the edge of the hotel bed, scrolling through her phone when Brooklyn walked in from the balcony, a slight frown on her face.
"What's with the frowny face?" April asked, sensing her sister's unease.
Brooklyn sighed, sitting down beside her. "Just thinking about this whole situation that’s been going on with Dean. I’ve just been so mad at him for so long … but being back together there’s this little voice in the back of my head that reminds me how comforting it is being back around each other again. It’s … it's not easy."
April nodded sympathetically. "Hey, I get it. It's been a rough road for the two of you, but we need to try. For the team, but really, you’ve gotta try for yourselves."
Just then, April's phone buzzed with a new message. She glanced at the screen and her eyes widened in surprise. "Speak of the devil! We just got an invite from Dean. He wants us to join him and Damien for a day at Tokyo Disneyland."
Brooklyn raised an eyebrow. "Disneyland? Really? That's... unexpected."
"I think it's an olive branch," April said thoughtfully. "He’s trying here, Brook, and you know nothing says ‘I’m sorry for tearing apart our family’ like a day at Disneyland! Plus, it's for Damien. You know how much he means to Dean."
Brooklyn's expression softened. "Yeah, you're right. And it's not like we don't have good memories of Disneyland. We had a fun little adventure there once upon a time, the Pack that is."
April smiled, "I remember you telling me about it once; said it was one of the few times you all just had fun without any drama. Maybe this could be a step towards something like that again."
Brooklyn nodded slowly. "Okay, let's do it. For Damien, and for us."
April grinned. "Great! I'll let Dean know we're in."
She quickly typed a response to Dean, confirming their plans. Moments later, another message buzzed through.
"Dean says Warren's coming too," April read aloud.
Brooklyn's frown returned slightly. "This could get interesting."
"It'll be fine," April said optimistically. "We're all trying to move forward, right? This could be a good thing."
Brooklyn sighed but managed a small smile. "Alright. Let's go to Disneyland and see what happens."

April sat upside down, her head hanging over the edge of her hotel room bed, her brow furrowed in concentration as she meticulously flexed and cracked each of her finger joints. Brooklyn lounged on the armchair by the window, her legs dangling over the side as she scrolled through her phone. The Tokyo skyline sparkled outside, a testament to the bustling life beyond their temporary refuge.
"You ready for this week?" Brooklyn asked, glancing up from her phone.
April nodded, her expression determined. "Yeah, I am. I think this one’ll be hell though."
Brooklyn smirked. "Vivienne and Cyrus, huh? Quite the power couple. Think Viv's going to hold back because you're her teammate?"
April shook her head. "Not a chance. Vivienne and I both want that Heiress to the Throne title. She’s not gonna hold back, and neither will I."
Brooklyn leaned back, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "Good. That's how it should be. But you know she’s not the only one to worry about here. What about Cyrus? That guy is pure ick."
April sighed, finishing up the last of her knuckle cracking. "Ew, Cyrus ... yeah, he's something else. The way he carries himself, it's like he's always looking for a fight. I don't like how he treats people either, all overly physical and aggressive."
Brooklyn's smirk turned into a scowl. "He's definitely a piece of work. He better realize that if he crosses a line with Vivienne, he’ll have me to answer to. But you’ve gotta be hands off with him anyway and just trust in Dean to handle him, right?"
"Yeah," April said, her tone brightening. "Dean can match Cyrus's recklessness with his own. It’s going to be a battle, but Dean's got that fire in him. He won’t back down, no matter what Cyrus throws his way."
Brooklyn chuckled. "Dean's like a mad dog sometimes. Reckless, sure, but he's also got you watching his back. Together, you two make a pretty solid team."
April smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her at her sister's words. "We've been through a lot so far already, Dean and I. This tournament has been a really great way for us to try and build something strong that neither one of us had before; a bond that’s more than just a tag team."
Brooklyn cocked an eyebrow. “I remember not too many years ago saying the same thing, hun.”
April said nothing but simply gave a nod of approval.
Brooklyn continued, "Hey, the good news is that before your match we’ve got their wedding though, yeah? It’ll be a chance for me to be there, keeping an eye on things. Make sure our girl Vivienne is alright with that mountain of a husband."
April laughed softly. "I appreciate that, Brook. But honestly, Vivienne can take care of herself. She's strong …”
“Physically or mentally?” Brooklyn asked with a smirk.
“Both,” April said with a smile, “I mean, I’ve got speed and endurance on my side, though. but either way, I’ve got a feeling that I might just have to pull out all the stops this week."
Brooklyn swung her legs off the chair, standing up and stretching. "You'll do great, April. Just keep your head in the game and watch out for Cyrus. He might be a glutton for pain, but you’ve got the brains and the speed to outmaneuver him."
April stood as well, feeling a surge of confidence. "Thanks, Brook. We’ll give it everything we’ve got. In the end, Cyrus and Vivienne don’t stand a chance against us."
Brooklyn walked over, giving her sister a reassuring pat on the back. "That's the spirit. Now, let’s get some rest. Big day tomorrow."
April nodded, taking one last look out the window at the dazzling city lights.
April adjusted her mouse ears and glanced over at Brooklyn, who was wearing a similar pair, albeit with a slightly more skeptical expression. Tokyo Disney was bustling with families and groups. Dean was holding Damien’s hand, the little boy practically bouncing with excitement. Warren trailed behind them, his presence a mix of casual confidence and wariness.
“Alright, gang. Let’s make this a day to remember,” Dean said, flashing a smile at April and Brooklyn.
As they approached the park entrance, there was an uncomfortable silence. Brooklyn and Warren exchanged a glance that held a myriad of unspoken words. April felt the tension and decided to intervene.
“Hey, look at that!” she said, pointing towards a large, colorful balloon stand. “Damien, do you want to get a balloon?”
Damien’s eyes lit up. “Yes, please! Can I have the Mickey one?”
Dean nodded, handing over some yen. “Sure thing, buddy.”
With that small distraction, the group entered the park. Brooklyn walked beside April, while Warren stayed close to Dean and Damien. The initial tension eased slightly as they made their way to the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean.
April knelt to Damien’s level as they waited in line. “Are you excited for the ride?”
Damien nodded enthusiastically. “I’ve never been on a pirate ride before!”
“Well, you’re in for a treat,” April said with a smile. “It’s one of my favorites.”
Damien’s laughter filled the air as they navigated the dark, swashbuckling scenes. When they exited, he was buzzing with excitement.
“That was so cool! Can we do it again?” Damien asked.
April laughed. “Maybe later. There are so many other fun things to do!”
As the day progressed, they moved from ride to ride, enjoying everything from Space Mountain to the teacups.
While they were watching a parade, April noticed Dean and Warren talking quietly off to the side. She caught snippets of their conversation, mostly about keeping things civil for Damien’s sake. Brooklyn stood nearby, her arms crossed but her expression softening slightly as she watched Damien’s reaction to the colorful floats.
After the parade, they headed to Fantasyland. April took Damien’s hand, leading him towards the Peter Pan’s Flight ride. Brooklyn joined them, her mood visibly lighter.
As they waited in line, April leaned over to Damien. “Having fun?”
“The best!” Damien exclaimed. “Auntie April, can we get ice cream after this?”
April grinned. “Oh, totally! What’s a day at Disney without some ice cream?”
The ride was a magical experience, and as they exited, they made their way to an ice cream stand. Damien chose a Mickey-shaped ice cream bar, and April got a cone for herself. They sat on a nearby bench, enjoying their treats.
As the sun set, the group found themselves in front of Cinderella’s Castle, the iconic structure illuminated against the twilight sky. April looked around at the smiling faces.
“Today was amazing,” Damien said, his eyes drooping slightly from exhaustion but still sparkling with happiness.
“It was,” April agreed, hugging him. “We’ll have to do it again sometime.”
Dean and Warren exchanged a look of agreement, and even Brooklyn seemed to be more at ease.
As they left the park, the magic of Tokyo Disney had not only provided a day of fun but also a step towards mending old wounds and building new bonds.
"What's with the frowny face?" April asked, sensing her sister's unease.
