“Are you nervous?” Kai asks after a moment.
“About being home? No. You?”
“Never.” Kai scuffs. “They might not be happy to see me here after the scandal but fuck em.”
“Loving isn’t a crime. In a world where darkness and despair often seem to have the upper hand, love is our greatest weapon. It is a beacon of hope that can pierce through the thickest shadows, a shield that protects us from harm, and a flame that warms our hearts even in the coldest of times.” Yusumi puts her hand out on the table toward Kai, “It is the love of my friends and allies that gives me the strength to fight, the courage to stand up against evil, and the determination to never give up. It is the love of our community that binds us together and makes us stronger than any foe we might face.”
“...I wish I shared your confidence.” Kai shakes her head with a laugh taking Yusumi’s hand.
“Seriously, Kai. I’ll always be here for you. Nothing anyone else says will change that."
