We find Fiona McFly walking into her office at the headquarters of Retro Championship Wrestling in Midlothian, Texas. Tonight, she sports a royal blue outfit with matching stiletto heels. A model starship, as seen in her movie Star Trek: Coexistence, is seen in the foreground along with her nameplate and a small American flag attached to a stand. In the background, we see a painting of a rising sun. Beofre Fiona starts speaking, she nods warmly at the camera and gives off a slight wink.
FIONA MCFLY:
Good evening. I would like to take this moment to pass a message along to you, the viewers of Retro Championship Wrestling.
For the past two years, it has been an honour and delight to bring you a product that truly makes the theatrical sport of professional wrestling the best business in the entire world. We have maintained a strong commitment to presenting a product that is family-friendly with a high-definition twist. However, we at Retro realise that nobody can stop the overall passage of time -- that the children who watch us now will eventually become teenagers and finally adults themselves. With that in my mind, I would like to acknowledge that we at Retro have embarked on a transparent attempt to open the creative envelope, to update our product whilst never forgetting its foundation.
Pause.
FIONA:
Whilst professional wrestling is, by its nature, a theatrical sport due to the athleticism and skill of all of our talents, the key emphasis here is theatre. More often than not, we at Retro often take inspiration from classic plays like Shakespeare's Hamlet, to television programmes such as The Simpsons, Star Trek, or Blue Bloods. That being said, after carefully reading fan feedback, it is quite clear that we need to build upon the simplistic idea of good guys versus bad guys. That is going to require taking great risks by blurring the lines, so to speak, therefore giving the people at home a 21st century take on the wild and wacky world of Retro.
With this in my mind, I am delighted to announce that RCW has entered into a multi-year partnership agreement with CBS and Paramount+ to air a brand new flagship programme. This programme with air live on Monday nights beginning on 6 January, 2025 at 7:00 PM Central, 8:00 PM Eastern. A pilot episode of this new programme, which has yet to be given a title, will air on the CBS Television Network 16 September, 2024 at the previously aforementioned time slot. With that being said, due to the live nature of the new show, we will be encouraging parental and viewer discretion.
For those wondering about the fate of our Slammin' Saturday Nite programme, fear not. That show will continue to air every Saturday night, at 7:00 PM Central and 8:00 Eastern, on the meTV network. This show will remain family-friendly in scope, as there would be an increase in younger viewership, and thusly no such discretion will be needed.
Finally, as part of our new multi-year agreement, RCW will no longer be confining itself to the state of Texas. We will be expanding our reach and traveling to more diverse and exciting venues. The aforementioned pilot episode of our new Monday night flagship programme will take place in Inglewood, California at the brand-new Intuit Dome, home of basketball's Los Angeles Clippers.
Fiona smiled, taking great personal delight in the announcements.
FIONA:
Ever since its founding two years ago, I've often considered Retro to be like a beautiful baby, but over time, even that baby is going to grow up strong and wise, sprouting wings and reaching for the stars. We are committed to building a legacy that far transcends anything one can ever imagine. I look forward to you all traveling with us on this wonderous journey.
Have a good night -- and please take care.
