Shinning Moon was a Sailor Moon themed restaurant in the middle of Tokyo, they had it booked for weeks now not even a light shower could dampen Rini’s enthusiasm, she ‘d been missing her time in the ring and early exit and the current stresses that went with being back in Japan.
They all sorta needed a night to be silly and bond a bit more traveling and living with each other was one thing but to just let loose is another.
Nat for her part had quite drifted out of docs as she watched the lights and listened to the music even as she nibbled on her food , Rini had been ecstatic but her own thoughts just kept drifting back to that experimental kiss to that demand to wanting to know.
She shook it loose, it wasn’t a good time and she’d have to trust Rini could make her own decisions , as confusing as they were, she didn't want to influence that.
She watched the costumed singers on stage do their pieces, picking at her food distractedly even as she smiled to herself, but her mind was back in New York, in younger days in a previous fireball.
Her first time, it was a dumb college fling. She'd watched the object of her affections at the time waltz off with the footballer of their dreams and well it was just a phase , wasn’t it? An experiment?
No, it hadn’t been, he mother of course despair that her daughter was ‘part of the alphabet army’ and ‘couldn't even get that right’.

No, it hadn’t been, he mother of course despair that her daughter was ‘part of the alphabet army’ and ‘couldn't even get that right’.
The memory made the smile fade as she looked down away from the others a second or so and rubbed at the bridge of her nose, the pressure had been tremendous.
A hand on her shoulder snapped her out of it , looking in their direction and of that hand on her she’d catch up to the Smile of Rini and Charlie just behind her looking confused.
“Uranasu! Isn’t it wonderful?”
She faked the smile, Rin missed it this time, Charlie didn’t, maybe picking up the fact the smile didn;t quite reach heresy despite her trying.
“Amazing Rini, food is good too.”
As Rini once agian got captivated by the affair Charlie would slide up and slid a tea under Nat's hand as Nat smiles.
“Trying to not make it a big thing Charlie it's ok. I just want to enjoy the night, just romance stuff.”
Charlie’s brows shot up as she smiled a bit and teased.
“Romance stuff? Whose the lucky victim?”
Nat’s eyes would flicker to Rini as if to answer the question and then looked back as Nat filled in some.
“Complicated, because she’s into Masao as well but… of course it is, I’m trying to figure out where I fit.”
Nat smiles and nods.
“If I should fit.”
Charlie rolled her eyes at that and Nat nodded up with a slight lick of lips.
“I just want the woman to be happy Charlie. ‘S all that matters, however it goes.”
She patted her friend's hand just a bi and ate a bit more of her sushi even as the finale started to spin up and she chuckled.
“No drama here, just…bad memories, let's enjoy the night? Normal service will resume”
She winked just a bit.
Charlie gave Nat a small nudge and a shake of her head.
“You’d better be. Your happiness matters too.”
Nat chuckles a bit and smiles.
“Maybe , but I can take a hit or two and keep truckin’ we’ll see.. Yeah? No pressure.”
Charlie gave Nat a quick shoulder squeeze before moving back to try and police Rini who was still practically exploding with excitement.
Funny little journey., but she was enjoying it…most of the time.
“Whilst I was out in Kawasaki, I’d taped promos…One for Charlie and one for Viv. You can’t really be too confident in this game, can you? No matter what the circumstances, I got what I asked for and my shoulders went to the mat.”
We fade in on Nat, in a room where the wind plays gains a few glass wind chimes all elegantly painted and hanging about the bare room she was filming herself in.
“So the talk starts again, Nat Walker can’t get it done, She’s the lesser of the pride, Because that;’s how people work, For my sins I get a chance to compete for the Invictus belt whilst my friend goes on to compete for Heiress to the throne, you go girl, if I can’t win it I sure as hell want you to. You got this.”
Nat quietly pulls at the flooring as she stays sat cross legged, her face a storm of emotions, clearly unhappy, but at who? Mostly herself. Those mismatched eyes fixed not quite at the camera.
“This feels like a consolation prize not gonna dress it up. I’m not happy with it but I watched it back and I flew too close to the sun….I’d run that back a thousand times if I had to, No regrets, fuck it we ball don’t we Tytus?”
She manages a chuckle as the wind chimes shift once again and she pulls up a small metal bin and holds up two card holders on one of them was a “C”in bright pink on the other was a “V”also in bright pink and she smiled as she produces the last two ingredients.
Lighter fluid and a box of matches.
“You’re the big guy here, I’m really not. If anything exemplifies the Invictus No limits this match is gonna be it isn’t it? What chance do I stand against the Russian Lion? “
She deposited both those cards into the small bin and added the lighter fluid form the can , circling the bin that fluid making a dull echoing sound as she emptied it a little an she smirked again with a wink and gave the bin a quick little shake as she waited a few seconds.
“But you should know better than anyone Tytus that spiders, even the small ones are not to be underestimated. The winds might have shifted and blown in a way I don’t want it to, But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to soar with the new thermals I’ve found.”
A match gets struck as she glanced up, the light a little flared out for a second as the flames illuminate her and she throws the match in and leans back a second as the bin goes up and she smiles a little.
“I’ve been pretty much fighting my entire life Tytus, maybe not the same way, you find your space in strength, and in cold ability and you’ve shown you can get it done, as ever I don’t think anyone is going to argue that I’m going to have to put my foot to the pedal and and not stop until you too the question will be.. Will I have the will to do it?”
She smirked a bit idly, nudging the bin away with a for so it could burn more in the background, a metaphorical funeral for what could have been and will never be seen taking place as she tapped a finger on her lips.
“I don’t like second or third place, I don’t like consolation prizes, there's this voice up here that brings out that competitive streak in me into overdrive and so now I have to make sure I don’t make the same mistake again against you and get my ass thrown into the crowd or used akin to a medieval weapon against a ring post or something.”
A long…Long pause As Nat briefly wears a face of consideration.
“I probably shouldn’t have given you that idea. Oh well, the whole David and Goliath speech is tired, isn't it? Predictable here, We both know how dangerous we really are and hell Yokohama is going to get a hell of a showing when we meet, if i had my way Rini would be at Charlie's side makin’ sure the Murder or the Jinxie Fenix don’t sneak up on her. Hell I’m gonna try and do that myself if I’m in a state to do so.”
Nat rubbed under her chin and glanced back at the fire that was going, rubbing her neck.
“I’m not doing this again Tytus. Wins and losses come and go but I’m not going to stop fighting. No matter how many times you plant my ass to the mat No matter how many times I bounces of you and I know I’m gonna, I will find that chink in your Armour buddy, and when I do find it? I’m gonna attack it.”
Natasha laughs a bit.
“It’s not going to be one blow that wins this…Much like the last match …It’s not our opponent that’ll beat us, like the wind… it’ll erode away, piece by piece and leave you exposed in the end.”
As if to illustrate her point, the fire behind her flutters in a stronger breeze and sputters as the wind chimes rattle and sway their peaceful synchronicity thrown out of balance.
“Our final stint in Yokohama sees the next Challenge for the so far relatively untroubled Serenity Holmes, I want it to be me , but a missed Goblin Glider and a Kiss Kiss bang bang in my past reminds me what too much of ‘I want’ gets me. That’s not gonna happen this week Tytus. I can’t let it, I’ve already got a backlog of your tapes and matches to catch up. You are my homework buddy.”
Nat lets loose a small chuckle nodding as she blew a breath, nervousness finally creeping on her face as she nods.
“You are by far the largest mountain I've got to climb , the hardest obstacle I’ve got to face, the literal giant of a man that I have to not want to, need to fly around to put myself in the place I’d like to be.”
A long, slow sigh and she chuckles.
“Aim for the stars… and shoot, right? If you miss you're still in the clouds.”
Natasha stretches an arm up from her position and tips at one of the chimes making it set off and she also stands to get a small bit of sand to put that fire out looking back at the camera.
“We’ll see you there Tytus, May the best of us win, where Invictus waits for the one of us whose hand is raised after the bell.”
Nat winks to the camera and we fade to black as she’s starting to unhang the wind chimes one by one.
A hand on her shoulder snapped her out of it , looking in their direction and of that hand on her she’d catch up to the Smile of Rini and Charlie just behind her looking confused.
