When will people wake up and understand that life isn't a mere metaphoric realization for their crappy lives? There's always a pecking order, a fateful hierarchy that they continue to define and mask with their self-righteous monologues of what ifs and what could be. They become a part of a crowd as the leaders stay above, watching them blend to commonality.
STREETS.
The city of Tokyo, Japan, at night, is a beautiful man-made jungle led by swarms of local citizens and tourists crossing the four streets that have been portrayed as legendary scenery for entertainment and personal experience. Underneath the moonlight, Serenity stood there on the highest tower balcony, closing her eyes to the smooth sail of the wind brushing her cheek. She was ecstatic after her last battle against Allen Chaney; the sight of that blood-faced man who ignored their warnings was a clear message to the rest of the roster. In addition, she leaned over the barricade, watching the people mix into a swarm of ants compared to those at the height above.
What are we here for?
Our message to Allen Chaney would be more than enough, but I stand here corrected. There's always that particular group of lesser civilians who believe they have the moral compass pointed in their direction. Maybe it's a sign that the people who follow our rules have had enough of being treated like crap, but I guess when you've been told you're nothing all your life, you want to prove people otherwise.
Is that what this is? Proving a point?
She chuckled. Serenity waved her hair behind her ear and walked along the balcony, strolling her hands on the fence. The top of the tower hosted a superior football field, and the lights were bright to show she was the only one there. An empty superior football field was all to her liking, but she was busy watching Tokyo at its finest hour as the clocks struck midnight.
What are you both trying to prove? We hold two championships in the Imperium Wrestling Federation—the Men's World Championship and the IWF Invictus Champion—yet you both have a lot to say about our character. You condemn us for our choices but fail to see that it was our choices that brought us here to this very moment.
This is what separates us from you. We don't care about morality or following the high ground. We don't want to prove a point when the point has been made very clear.
Pax and Natasha are two individuals who want to do things the right way. Look at them below.
Her hazel eyes remained glued to the crosswalks, where people mixed together as they were allowed to cross the street. Traffic stopped, but she admired the various directions the low-lives took to reach their destination. It was poetic. She tilted her head to the side and rubbed her chin as she admired the artistry designed by the city limits.
Where do they go now?
Where do you guys go?
You earned your opportunities, and you can speak on our behalf. Well, Paax, pulling the trigger twice in a row means you have a sharpshooter. I swear the Olympics could have used you to represent our country, but just because you became an Heir twice doesn't mean you can become a World Champion. We congratulate you on your success, but your story of being the kid with a point to prove needs to end.
You once said that you'd fight by yourself, train your ass off and prove to the world that as long as you got a heart, you'll be the best.
I used to think the same thing, but in this business, the heart will only show how vulnerable you are to those who want blood. You don't need to preach about your beliefs; you act on them. However, in this tag team match, you will understand that your words of pride are nothing compared to reality. Reality is knowledge that the illusion of you even thinking you have a chance is a method of control the elite, such as myself and Warren, use to put fools like you in their place.
Serenity fluffed her leather black jacket and walked through the bleachers, shoving her hands inside the pockets. She stepped onto the field and dragged her boots across the lawn, appreciating how clean the Japanese culture produced a pristine image. The air was still a little chilly, but she loved it. The cold chill on someone's spine would have been too much, but it was her natural environment for a cold-hearted individual such as Serenity. Serenity remained on the field and looked around at the empty bleachers and the grand design.
And that's what makes this beautiful: the same story, the same people believing they can change what has always worked.
A system.
A system is designed to have people like myself and Warren leading the future to be constantly challenged by the small folk in their happy-go-lucky stories—a world where they are blinded by peace, tranquility, and love. We once wanted those, but we were destroyed by life. Life doesn't care about your happiness, it cares about your success and success can only be achieved by accepting that power is the only economy in this life.
What is your economy, Natasha?
She scowled, mentioning her name. Serenity's fistsballed into her pockets, and she took a moment to exhale to calm her spirit down.
Is this how you feel now? You get to make nicknames and pretend that you're someone in my life? It's really pathetic what you've been doing. Prancing around this city in your little love life, thinking friendship, love, and happiness are the keys to success, you've managed to defeat Tytus Rost to become the number one contender.
It was the biggest mistake you ever made, especially knowing our history. You and your little birds made fun of me, and we even fought until our heads would explode, but I decided to break free from you when you couldn't hold a candle to my fire. In the end, I chose right. I decided to be with the man in power, and now I'm the one you're chasing to prove a point.
There was a superior football ball on the field, and Serenity took a few steps to kick it, bouncing it on her knees before catching it in her hands. The golden ball with the Japanese flag, but to her, it was like holding a golden snitch now that she found herself in a position many dreamed of.
But that exact point is moot.
We hold what you both covet, and that's all this will be.
Waving what you are out of reach because you both are stuck in this delusion that the world is black and white. You make good choices and expect to be rewarded with presents in your socks, not knowing that we are the company that will sell you the dream. This is child's play, a game for us as we continue to soar past everyone in this promotion.
And on Odyssey, it will be no different.
We are done giving you our air and letting you breathe in our vicinity. We allowed you both to get your taste of glory, and it has filled your heads with delusion. This isn't your story about how you triumphed over the lousy guy; it's another chapter in our books, and you'll be nothing more than a footnote.
Serenity takes the ball in her hands and kicks it across the field, watching it slam against the net inside the goal. She is impressed with herself and then walks over to one of the team's areas to reach down and pull the IWF Invictus Championship in her grasp.
Natasha and Pax, you both earned this. You both worked hard, but that's all it will be—hard work.
We're about success and results. We don't care what your dreams are, your hopes and aspirations, and we don't care about how much you want to be champions. We're just two individuals who controlled the narrative, who let you become what you are and will happily send you both packing to the slums you belong.
Oh, and Natasha, if you ever call me by that nickname again, I drag you down to hell's farthest depths.
Don't ever call me Ren Ren again.
