Upon the lake so wide and still, A duck floats on with quiet will. No other quacks to match his sound, In solitude, she drifts around.
The reeds stand tall, the water’s cold, No feathered friends within his fold. he paddles on through misty air, A lonely duck, without a care.
But in his heart, a gentle plea, For company, for friends to see. Yet on he goes, without a fuss, Content to wander, just because.
The sun sets low, the day is done, he drifts alone, yet not quite gone. For in the dark, he finds her light, A duck, alone, but still, alright.
