Home.
What exactly does that mean?
Is it playing games with your brothers and a father’s warm embrace, or KFC on Christmas and a mother’s miso soup? When you close your eyes and think back does the word home make you happy, or is it a hell you’ve been running from your entire adult life?
Yusumi Mitsu you strike me as the kind of person who has spent every possible moment of this tour visiting your family. You lose your match for the week and you're on the first train to Osaka because that is the place that makes you the happiest. That’s a beautiful story, but it makes you weak Yusumi.
When I think of home it has always been inside of a gym. I learned to walk inside of my uncle's dojo, and I still spend nearly every waking hour inside of the gym here on MOD Island. I can look out any window on this property and see paradise but instead, I choose to put myself through hell. That is the thing that is going to make me a champion in the very near future.
I am willing to give you all of this Yusumi because we see something special in you. You have a very special talent deep down inside that the Performance Center is never going to be able to pull out of you because all they care about is developing an army of enhancement talent to show up each week to lose. I would care about making you into the best possible version of yourself because that is what the MOD does.
I’ve heard it said that signing a developmental contract with IWF can be life-changing. The men and women at the Performance Center are being given the chance to follow their dream of becoming a professional wrestler and being trained by the best in the world. Those people are fools who choose to believe what they’ve been told because there isn’t a single graduate of the PC who has accomplished anything in this sport.
The MOD is different because we have accomplished athletes who are great in every combat sport. There is a case that we’ve built inside of the house that has close to a hundred trophies, over a dozen championship belts, and in a few days three Olympic medals. The PC wrestlers on the other hand can barely manage to win a match.
Yusumi consider our match to be an example of what you could be if you would just walk away from IWF to focus on MODifying yourself. You can stand across the ring from me and experience what it is like to wrestle someone who is the best possible version of themselves. Then you will get pinned and catch the very first train back to Osaka because home to you means being a loser.
