Candy was sitting in the hotel room trying to work her way through 'It Ends with Us', to prepare herself for the new movie coming out. She had white noise machine playing a soft rainfall. She felt pretty relaxed, really trying to figure out why people had recommended this book to her. Maybe the movie adaptation was in name only.
"UGH!" Mimi slammed the door to their shared hotel room.
Candy sighed, closing her book, "Didn't go well then?"
"I was this close to getting him. This fucking close. Then Rosa came in and muscled her way in!"
"Tragic." Candy said dryly as she turned off the white noise machine.
"Now I'm gonna have to fight the stupid amazon to get him."
"Or you could just...not?"
"Candy! You were supporting me here."
"I was supporting you trying. But any man you have to fight to pick you isn't a man worth wasting time on."
"Bullshit. He's fine as hell. I mean, god, it was like he was sculpted out of a wetdream."

"Candy. Support. Girls supporting girls. Remember?"
Candy sighed, "Okay. So how did it end? Did he ignore you?"
"Well, no... he agreed to a dinner date."
"Okay. And what did Rosa get?"
"She gave her number."
"You are already winning then. You have a confirmed date. She has at best a 3am 'you up' text scheduled. The first person he sleeps with after his ex is not the one he settles down with. Its the rebound. You do not want to be the rebound."
"So...so I'm winning?"
"You're winning." Candy reassured her.
"Well, well, well... look at what we have here. Yusumi, Kai, you think you can just waltz into my ring and take over? Nah, sugar, that’s not how it works in the real world! See, you two might be big deals to a certain demographic by I am Rated E for everyone. Everyone loves me. Everyone wants me. And everyone wishes they were my partner in the ring. Mimi gets that job. She pauses, a wicked smile spreading across her face.
