{Gregor Winter and Itami stand together in front of an official IWF Legacy banner following the press conference to kick off pay-per-view week. They are both smartly dressed in business suites in the black and red colors of Team MOD.
Stepping slightly in front of his protégé Winter clears his through and begins to speak.}
Live long enough and you’ll become the villain in someone else’s story.
Someone will be leaving the Tokyo Dome as the villain of three different stories on Sunday night, and I'm not sure my opponents can handle that because they all want the fans to love then. All three of them has built their entire identity on the world thinking that they're the good guy.
Itami is different because she's more than happy to be the villain. It's the role that she’s been forced to play her entire life. That means she is willing to do anything to win, which is something her opponents will refuse to do.
Rosa de Luca is scared of being seen as anything more than a hardcore feminist. She wrestles to elevate all women and let them see what is possible. You'd rather die than be seen as anything other than the perfect role model.
We
Sweet Caroline Machado's weakness is a fear of letting down the people that she loves. Fiona and James have helped her get a life that she could have never imagined and it would break her heart to disappoint them. That keeps her from doing everything that it takes to win a match, which will get her beat against someone like Itami.
Then we have cute little Rini Ishikawa who is just happy to be wrestling in front of her friends and family. Win or lose Sunday is going to be the best day of her life, which is an attitude that could end her career in IWF before it ever got started.
.
Itami knows that the only way to be a role model is to win, and the only person that she has to worry about disappointing is herself. More importantly she is not happy to be back in a city that has caused her so much heartache, and she is going to win to exorcize those demons.
{Winter steps back allowing the camera to focus on Itami.}
The MOD teaches that life is a one way street. Everything that has happened in the past are just cobblestones that have lead you to where you stand now. You'll never be able to walk over them again, so the only thing look back does is slow you down.
This was a difficult lesson for me to understand because I have spent my entire life looking backwards. I was stuck worrying about what had already happened to me that I would run right into the next crisis.
I've changed over the past few months and now I only occasionally glance over my shoulder. It's nice to revisit a memory of my father or brother from time to time, but I know that I have to keep running forward.
Legacy is Gladiatorix Championship at Legacy will be my reward for all of the work that I've done since arriving on MOD Island. I've worked with some of the best fighters in the world to sharpen my skills, and I am control of The Demoness.
That is bad news for my opponents because I'm the one that chooses to release her and let her feed. I'm the one that gets to pick when to be violent instead of being controlled by the blood lust.
{Itami grins like a predator standing over it's prey.}
Sunday night I promise that I will be violent, and I can't wait to see the fear in my opponents eyes as I use anything not bolted to win the match. I promise that this match will be an orgy of violence and this new championship will be quenched in the blood of the weak.
{The grin turns into a smile.}
When I stand in the center of the ring with my hand raised in front of more than 60,000 fans I will be standing on the biggest cobble on my road of life, but it's just the start of the most important period of my career. Becoming the first ever Gladiatorix Champion will be just the beginning of my Legacy.
{The scene fades to black.}
