Mimi and Doctor Chen argue about whose fault it was if Warren was seriously injured. Eventually Mimi had enough and pushed past Chen to see her boyfriend. She was the only one who cared to do anything.
Warren sat up and smiled, seeing her, “Everything okay? Warren asked softly. You seem upset.”
“That asshole doctor seems to think I could have risked you health seriously.”
”I don’t blame you, or Rosa. Besides, I don’t think I’m injured,” Warren said. “Heart’s beating a little fast, sure, and I feel a little lightheaded,” Warren smiled. “But I don’t think that has anything to do with Pax putting me out and actually has everything to do with the fact you that just walked into the room.”
Mimi beamed as she sat down next to him and kissed him softly, “I still think you did great, baby.”
“Thanks. You’re too kind. Right now, I’m just trying to keep my head above water and not kick myself too hard that everything I worked so hard for, and everything I sacrificed was only good enough for a few months at the top of the mountain. Almost doesn’t seem worth it, you know?”
“Sure your reign was only a few months, but sugar, please look at the bigger picture. It was your second reign as World Champion, most men who come through the company don’t even get a first,” Mimi took his hand in both of hers. “Not only that but you made history, being the first man to win and successfully defend the title in two consecutive Immortals main events. Nobody else will be able to take that foundation from you, just like nobody else can claim they were the first man to make Dean Harper tap out.” Mimi’s eyes sparkled as she spoke, buoying Warren’s confidence as best she could. “So what if you didn’t have an Andrew Jacobsen or Angel Blake like run, who cares? You still made an impact while you were Champion, and I’m still incredibly proud of you.” Mimi kissed him softly again. “And well, look on the bright side, at least now we don’t have to sit through any more boring sandwich eating promos from Allen Chaney or whatever else he tries to do to make us all think he’s really funny.”
“I guess you’re right,” Warren sighed. “As much as my pride would have loved to prove that I didn’t just fluke my way into a Roulette win by beating Chaney more directly one on one, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t more than a little relieved that his cornball routine is Stormcrow’s problem now and not mine.”
“Exactly, so why don’t we go back to the hotel, so I can look after you properly?” Mimi winked playfully. “Bet I can make you feel a lot better than Dr Chen.”
“Oh, really? What did you have in mind?”
“I don’t like to spoil surprises, but you’ll love it. Trust me.”
“You think Chen will discharge me?”
“He better or I’ll give him another earful.”
“You’re so hot when you get all fired up you know,” Warren kissed her softly. “I assume taking care of me won’t involve Rosa this time?”
“No way, sugar. I made a mistake, I’ve learned my lesson,” Mimi said firmly. "You're my man, not hers. She might not say it but I’ve seen how she looks at you, and I don’t like it. I’ve already told her to back off once and when I get her in the ring this week, I’ll tell her again, loud and clear, right with a boot to her mouth.”
“I know we’ve had one date and it went pretty well, but don’t you think you’re overreacting just a little bit? Rosa’s nice. She’s harmless, she doesn’t seem all that interested in me anyway, and even if she is, I don’t think she’d act on it as long as she knows you and I are together.”
“How do you know? How long have you spoken to her to have gotten all that, anyway?”
“You know you’re starting to sound just like Dean,” Warren said. “He got this idea in his head that he was going to be abandoned when I was stolen away by Viv or Shea or both. Some of our worst fights were when he’d work himself up to the point of telling me that it was only a matter of time. It was one of his least attractive qualities, and I don’t want to deal with it again with us.”
“Shit, sorry. I wasn’t trying to be like your ex, I promise. I just…like you…a lot Warren. A lot, a lot. I don’t want to scare you off by throwing the L word around too early, but I’ve had a crush on you for years now. I never thought anything like this would happen for me. I was just another girl at the PC and you’re the son of a legend. You can walk through doors in the company people won’t even show me. I figured we were from two different worlds, but then you not only saw me, you reached out to me for help and I…and now we’re here, and God I’m just babbling…I’m…”
Mimi was cut off by the taste of Warren’s kiss, gently impressed upon her. Warren slowly deepened it until he felt her relax. He then broke it softly.
“Not that I’m complaining,” Mimi breathed, “But what was that for?”
“You looked like you needed it.”
Mimi blushed, looked down slightly. “Sorry, I babble when I’m nervous and I’m nervous when I really like someone and I really like you.”
“Yeah, so you’ve said. I’m flattered Mimi, but I’m also just coming off a divorce. I’d rather not hurt anybody or make the same mistakes over again by rushing into a serious relationship too quickly. That’s already bitten me on the arse more than once.”
“I understand,” Mimi nodded. “I promise I’m not asking to move in or a ring or anything. I just want to try dating you for a while. I’ve never really put myself out there like this before and gone for my dream guy, but I think I could give you everything Dean couldn’t and I think we could make each other really happy. I’d just like a chance, a real chance to get to know you. The real you, you don’t have to put up walls around me. You are worthy of unconditional love, even if most days you don’t think you are.”
“Thank you for saying that Mimi, it means more than you know.”
"I want to be your girlfriend. Your only girlfriend, monogamous and exclusive. I don’t share. I don’t want to share. You’ll never have to compete for my affection or compromise how you feel like you did for Dean and Max, I promise. For me, there’s nobody else and there never will be because the idea of sharing you with anyone breaks my heart.”
“Mimi, it’s okay. You’ll never have to share me with anyone, I promise,” Warren said. “I’ve already tried that, because I didn’t think I was good enough for anybody on my own. But now I know it’s not for me, and that I was just denying parts of myself to try and keep Dean happy. He’s been through so much, I figured he didn’t need to be saddled with all my trauma too, so I bent and twisted myself to fit everything I thought he wanted, especially after Max died.”
“I’m sorry you felt like you couldn’t be who you really are with him. I never want you to feel that way around me. I want the real you, the authentic and beautiful soul I see in my dreams. I want the man I know you can be. The best man of all, mine.”
The camera cuts to Mimi Simpson, standing in front of a large backdrop featuring her logo. She’s dressed in her wrestling gear, but her expression shows she’s anything but ready to wrestle—she’s ready to fight. With her hands on her hips, she leans forward into the camera.
"Rosa DeLuca, you might be the talk of the town with your flashy moves and that swagger, but let me tell you something, girl—you’re not even in my league– even with the belt. You see, while you’re busy trying to make a name for yourself, I’ve already got everything you’re dreaming of. A killer career, looks that could stop traffic, and let’s not forget about my boyfriend, Warren Kidd. Yeah, that’s right, the same Warren Kidd who’s been tearing it up in the ring and setting records. Sure he lost the belt but no one made someone work for it like my man.
While you’re struggling to keep up, I’ve got the best partner in and out of the ring, cheering me on. Warren’s got the strength, the skill, and the brains, and guess what? So do I. We’re the power couple everyone’s going to be talking about and unstoppable.
Rosa, you may think you’re fierce, but when you step into the ring with me, you’re going to realize what true power looks like. I’ve got the moves, I’ve got the brains, and I’ve got Warren Kidd in my corner. You don’t stand a chance."
The promo ends with Mimi glaring into the camera before it cuts to black.
