I wish people would stop.
I did it, why can’t you?
Any of you?
I believed my own hype for so long that I fell into this pit of self-stupidity that almost swallowed me whole. I thought for the longest time that someone getting a win over me was the best thing since sliced bread, since someone learned to pop…corn.
I was wrong. I see that now.
I see the error of my ways and now I wish to impart that on all of you. Help me help you. Allow me to throw the rope down and pull you from this dark whole of conceit…will you?
Rob, the only person here that is on your nuts right now is Alex Jones. I take that back, really I do. You see the way you’ve come off recently Rob, I feel like you removed one of your ribs and you yourself are all over your nut sack. Knock it off will ya? You’re embarrassing yourself in front of the world.
Last Monday night, you two won the Tag Team Championships outright from Spike Kane and Cable Arcane and you deserve praise, and I give it to you in the form of an applause because you have laid down the gauntlet to The Empire. The lines have been drawn and now it is time for the fun to begin.
For a month or so now, the Empire has run roughshod over this federation and in the process they have taken out everyone from Rob Diamond to myself and sent us back to the drawing board.
Cable Arcane took me out with a concussion for a week and on that same night, The Empire beat you down within an inch of your life. There were no screams of victory, no calls for people to “Suck It!” There were only two sounds heard that night Rob. The Empire stood tall over your broken body in an air of celebration and the boos from the crowd rained down like hellfire missiles.
What you don’t get Rob, is that you aren’t the only one who has drawn a line against the Empire, and as a matter of fact, I did it first. I did it with the mind games. Alexis cost The Empire their match against you. Her distraction is what helped you win…she says you’re welcome.
She also hit Cable in his junk and pissed him off enough to walk right into my trap where I beat the crap out of him two weeks after he tried to end my career. Then last week I beat him all over the show and I completely one hundred percent enjoyed every single bit of it.
We have a common enemy Rob and in that regard you have my word that I have your back. For if we don’t unite against the entity known as The Empire, individually we each fall. There’s another spot though Rob where we are also alike, and that is this coming Monday night on Sacrifice. We both want a shot at Spike Kane, you for a bit more personal reasons; me, simply to become the Imperial Champion.
Only one of us can get to that position Rob and while we share that common hatred, I have that absolute desire to prove that I am what I’ve always said, that being…the no doubt about it best. So while I’m in the main event at Extinction, I hope you can find solace that you were beaten by a better man.

Title: Too Good
Location: The Arena After Sacrifice
Time: 11:17 PM Local Time (After Sacrifice Cameras Stop Rolling)
The fight continues as the cameras cut off. Killian, Blade, myself, and Cross duking it out on the ramp as the others do so in the ring. Alexis is standing by as we all trade blows until security comes down and interrupts the chaos to the chagrin of the crowd around us, none of which has left the arena. Slowly the group on the ramp is divided and pushed up the ramp into the back area where we are eventually broken apart. Alexis puts her hand on my chest and starts pushing backward as I yell back at the others being pushed in the opposite direction.
Mike Laszlo: THAT’S RIGHT YOU SON OF A BITCH! MORE TO COME!
Alexis smiles as she pushes me around a corner where I calm down as we walk down the halls of the arena back to our locker room. As we get there I take a seat on the bench and take a deep breath allowing my emotions to get back in check.
Alexis Caffrey: Wow, what a show.
Mike Laszlo: I know right? That crowd was insane, and everything went according to plan.
Alexis Caffrey: Gotta love when a plan comes together.
Mike Laszlo: That you do. Now the focus goes to next week.
Alexis Caffrey: What do you have in mind?
Mike Laszlo: With Cable? Who knows. I’m kind of going with the flow in that regard. I meant the qualifying match next week.
Alexis nods affirmatively as we switch gears a bit.
Alexis Caffrey: That’s a huge match. You could be back in contention for a championship.
Mike Laszlo: You’re right. Rob and I might have been fighting on the same side tonight, but next week is a whole other ball game. A game that I plan on winning.
Alexis Caffrey: Should be fun.
Mike Laszlo: I for one can’t wait.
The scene fades as Mike starts unlacing his boots with a smile on his face.
====================
Do you understand what this match means for me this week Rob? It’s a qualifier to get in a match where I can take a crack at becoming whatever champion I can get my hands on. It’s a shot at the ultimate redemption Rob.
If…I mean when I beat you in the center of that ring Monday, and it’s me who advances to the Extinction Event, I have a litany of options in front of me. I mean, look at who will be across the ring…The Empire.
This is my opportunity to take aim at the head of the snake and cut it off ending the so-called ”Kings” reign of terror once and for all. This could also be an opportunity for me to get a bit of revenge on the Man of Steel Ryan Blade. To be honest, I’ll take either ball and run with it in a way the likes of which this company has never seen before.
I can accomplish something at the Survival of the Fittest that I have yet to be able to do in my IWF tenure. I have the chance to satisfy an urge, quench a thirst, feed a hunger within to become champion.
I want to jump over that hump. I want to defeat that challenge that stands before me. I don’t just want to do these things Rob…I HAVE to do them.
If I don’t, the world will continue to spew off at the mouth about me. The detractors will have the ammunition they oh so seek to trash me into oblivion as if they haven’t done so already. The choke artist label will fall upon me once more and I can’t have that happen Diamond…I WON’T!
To end all of that; to put it all to rest, I have to beat you Monday night. I have to take myself to that place I visited a month or so ago and do to you now, what I did then. I have to walk down that ramp with a sense of purpose Rob. I have to walk up those steps, through those ropes, and into that ring, and I have to beat the ever living crap out of you. I then have to wrap you up and make you submit one more time. If that’s what I have to do, so be it.
This really shouldn’t be too hard for you to comprehend Rob. We both want something. We both suspect that we want it more than the other. Monday night, live on Sacrifice in front of the world, we see who wants it more.

Title: To Be True
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Time: 10:48 AM Local Time
What a dreary overcast day in Cleveland. Fall was here and it was ugly. I slept in for the first time in a long time and when my eyes finally opened, I rolled to my side to see that the bed was empty. Still a little dazed from my hours of sleep, I sit up and look around, not knowing exactly what time it was until I picked my phone up off the nightstand next to me.
Mike Laszlo: Ten-Forty-Eight. Wow, I must have been pretty exhausted.
I reached down and flipped the blanket off to the side and stood up beside the bed, reaching out and doing what of those long deep stretches that causes you to groan. I rubbed my hands over my face as I walked to the window and saw the dismal scene outside. The wind was blowing as was evident by the waving of the trees. The grass was covered in leaves and some of the branches had fallen from the recent freeze and wet snowfall. Sighing I turn from the window to the closet and walk in, looking over the numerous basketball jerseys I had hanging before throwing one on real quick and heading out the door into the hall.
As I look around, all seems quiet, and in my household, that’s kind of scary. As I slowly trudge down the hall I look into the kitchen, nobody. I look into the family room…again, nobody. I did however see a note on the coffee table with my name on it. I walked in and picked it up.
- Mike
Took the girls out for breakfast. I figured we’d let you sleep and relax.
Love Ya Babe,
Alexis
A smile on my face, I crumbled the note up and tossed it into the garbage can. As I sat on the couch, the dogs came running in and jumped up on the couch and climbed all over me.
Mike Laszlo: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay guys. Hey, come on no…OW! Alright, get down.
They listened and got down, sitting in front of me with their complete and total attention. Leaning over I pet them both.
Mike Laszlo: That’s right. Good pups.
As I enjoyed a little time with man’s best friends, there’s a knock at my door. I looked up confused before getting up from my couch and heading over. Looking from the side window I see Raven standing in front of the door. Standing behind the door for a moment, I close my eyes and take a deep breath as this kind of situation was getting a bit annoying. I pulled the door open and saw her smiling on the other side of the door, waving at me like a teenage school girl.
Raven Simpson: Mike! HI!
Mike Laszlo: What’s up?
Raven Simpson: Can I come in?
Mike Laszlo: I got a better idea. I’ll be right back.
That little audible sent her into a bit of confusion as I turned from the door and headed back to my room. I threw on a pair of cargo shorts and a t-shirt along with a black pair of Chuck Taylors and headed out to the front door. As I stepped outside I motioned for her to have a seat on the chair in the front of the house on the porch. She obliged as I opened the door again to let the dogs out to roam around the yard. As I sat in the chair next to her I couldn’t help but feel a sense of annoyance with her.
Mike Laszlo: Are you trying to get me in trouble?
Raven Simpson: Huh?
Mike Laszlo: Because she heard your voice on the phone last week, Alexis threw a bag at my head.
Raven Simpson: She’s a little high strung isn’t she?
Mike Laszlo: Not really. She’s protective of what she views as hers.
Raven Simpson: Oh, so now you’re property?
Mike Laszlo: You know what I mean.
Raven Simpson: Not really. I mean, she’s protective. Does that mean she views me as a threat? Am I?
Mike Laszlo: No.
Raven Simpson: You mean to tell me that you feel absolutely nothing for me?
Mike Laszlo: I know this isn’t what you’re looking for, but the answer is no. I love Alexis. I don’t have eyes, a heart, or feelings for anyone else. It’s just not going to happen, no matter how hard you try.
I could tell she was upset, but to be honest, I really didn’t care. It was none of my concern as this situation went. I wanted no part in this and I wasn’t about to let myself get sucked into a situation like this. She looked up and now there was a fire in her eye.
Raven Simpson: You mean to tell me after all we’ve been through that there’s absolutely nothing. There’s not even an ounce of feeling?
Mike Laszlo: None at all. You’re a friend of mine, and that’s why I helped you out. There’s nothing further here.
Raven Simpson: You go to hell you son of a bitch!
I was a little put off by the abruptness of her outburst, but I simply shrugged it off.
Mike Laszlo: Sounds like that’s all we have to talk about it. Goodbye.
She was appalled at how I handled it. She didn’t like how I brushed her off as I walked back to the door before signaling the dogs to come in with a whistle.
Mike Laszlo: Alright, LET’S GO!
The dogs come running back in and jump in the doorway as I step in, slamming the door behind me. I take a few steps back in and there’s knocking at the door again. Knowing who it was I smiled, knowing that I was just going to piss her off that much more, and I didn’t have a care in the world.
Mike Laszlo: GET THE HELL OFF MY PORCH BEFORE I CALL SECURITY!
As I stood there waiting for a reaction, I get it as I hear something shatter outside. As I look out the mirror reflecting window that allows me to look out, but her not to see in, I see her storming down the driveway and speeding off. As I open the door and take a step out again, I look around the corner and see that she tipped over and shattered one of the big clay pots that I had along the house. I looked at the shattered clay and spilled dirt and shook my head.
Mike Laszlo: Bitch.
Soon after, as I’m clearing the dirt and debris I see Alexis pulling in the driveway with Britney and Lindsay. As they exit the car Alexis didn’t look happy. Lindsay ushered Britney inside as Alexis leaned down to help.
Alexis Caffrey: Raven?
Mike Laszlo: How’d you know?
Alexis Caffrey: We passed each other on the driveway up here. Just seeing her makes me want to punch her in the face.
Mike Laszlo: I’m kind of wishing you would. I told her that there was absolutely nothing between us and she got mad and knocked this over. Hopefully, I got through her thick head and she understands there’s nothing for her here.
Alexis Caffrey: If not…my fist will meet her face.
Mike Laszlo: Sounds like a plan to me.
The scene fades as we continue to clean the mess up. Hell has no fury like a woman scorn…ugh.
====================
So Rob, now that we know where each other are coming from, I want you to know where I’m going. You see, I understand you and your motives. If someone did to me what Spike did to you, I would want to kill him. I would like to take his belt, end his empire, and end him all in one quick swing of the fist.
My motivation is different. I want Spike more on a professional level. I want to beat him for the first time in my career. I want to do it when it matters most. I want to end everything that the idiot skeptics say. I want to put the past behind me and look nowhere but the future. The win over you is and has been in the rear view mirror because to me, it’s another win. To me it’s not anything important and I want you to understand that here and now.
You to me, are another wrestler who in that ring excels to heights that few can match, but that doesn’t make you better than me. That doesn’t make you more deserving just due to the fact that you are Rob Fucking Diamond. Like me in NCW Rob, you’ve had your shots and you failed no matter the circumstance. You’ve even repeated me in the fact that you’ve lost you opportunity to challenge for that belt. Also like me in NCW, you’ve found yourself a little loophole to possibly get that one last opportunity. I know the position you’re in Rob and I feel you for the desperation. I wish you luck, you’re going to need it.
Along with that luck though, you’re going to need some hope because you did something that one man should never do to another. You see Rob, I don’t give a damn how dangerous you think you are. I don’t care about the things you’ve done that make you consider yourself dangerous. The one thing I care about is the fact that you think, that you even fathom, much like Cable Arcane, that you can end my career…end me.
There’s isn’t a single God damn person on this planet that can end me. No human being alive or dead is going to tell me when to stop or make me stop. There is but one who will make me stop and you’ll be staring across the ring from him Monday. I am the only one who will tell myself when to stop. It won’t be Monday against you and it won’t be at Survival of the Fittest when I get my opportunity at Spike Kane and the other champions.
I have goals and they will be completed at any cost necessary. I’m sorry that’s coming at your expense. I like you Rob. I like your wittiness and your punctuality. Your only downside is that you’re obnoxiously over-confident and in the end, I will humble you once again. Don’t ignore history, it’s doomed to repeat itself, and if I have my way…it will.
I did it, why can’t you?
