Spike TV - Episode 5 - Back in Black.
~~~
This weeks episode is a little delayed due to some personal issues that arose during the week, and with a busy schedule it was hard to reorganise, but here we are, back on air - in an almost regular schedule. With Battleground having aired twice since the last episode, we’ve decided we’re going to keep to this timeframe (the weekend) for the show itself. So from no onwards Spike TV will air after that weeks episodes of both Sacrifice and Battleground - so any time between Thursday and Monday.
Sooooooooo….we’ve got quite a lot to talk about. First of all there’s the big one - The Roulette match! 30 men enter, but only one can leave with the chance to fight for the Imperial Championship at the big birthday show. That’s right, the man who outlasts the 29 others will be going to the anniversary show to fight for the biggest championship in the entire business. Not to be outdone though, the Diamonds have something up their sleeves too! This simply ensures that High Stakes is going to be on event NOT to be missed.
Without intending to pour even more attention on our “Head of Booking” Angel Blake was scheduled to face the entire roster on Battleground this week. What happened was….to be blunt, a complete and utter farce, but at the very least we got to see Roberto Verona - fresh from a loss to yours truly - finally grow a back bone and clash with Angel in the middle of the ring. It was intense, it was violent, and it was enjoyable!
Not to be outdone however, there was the announcement of the Invictus Championship! That;s right, for all those who didn’t quite understand; the heavyweight and the cruiserweight belts are going to be merged to create one championship - the Invictus Championship. Name sounds pretty bad ass, and being as it’s going to mean that Kristoff Liam Bates (an nCw VETERAN) goes up against one of my best friends, THE Bob Pooler? ….consider me sold already.
High Stakes is going to be awesome!
ALL HAIL!
ALL HAIL!
Jimmy Zane: Jimmy keeps his place because he’s keeping up the pace. Impressive showings are starting to bring hope to people that Jimmy can finally deliver on the promise that has shown since his early days. He’s certainly had the ego in the past, but is he finally backing up his words?
Eternity: Crazy isn’t exactly new to me, but this chick? She’s most certainly off her rocker. She’s dangerous as hell and completely unpredictable. She’s had a topsy turvy start in IWF, but it seems to me like it’s only a matter of time before she’s at the top of the Diamonds division, laughing….or crying….or whatever the hell she wants to do.
Mike Laszlo: Say what you will about the biggest mouth in the business - like the fact he rarely ever backs that mouth up - BUT! Mike has been making leaps and bounds recently in IWF, and as a former Man of Steel Champion, could the Imperial Championship be just around the corner? In my opinion - Laszlo is in the running, and anything else is below him. Eugh….I feel sick now.
Xavier Cross: We have issues, so what? Doesn’t mean I can’t acknowledge that since his return the “Phoenix” has been turning heads and hasn’t held his tongue about certain events he feels are unfair, or just don’t fit the mold of his ego. Regardless, Xavier kicked Todd’s ass, and I can’t stand that dude, so he gets a spot.
Angel: The Head of Booking has come into his own of late. Stepping from behind the desk, Angel has been a prominent figure on screen, perhaps as some say, stealing the limelight that belongs to others? Or perhaps just taking what he deserves? Either way, Verona has had issues with him, and Angel has been toying with the entire roster - it’s some pretty scary stuff. High Stakes is looking to head towards a momentous clash between Angel and Bertie.
The Roulette has got people talking already, who do YOU think will win it?
Can this war between Roberto and Angel escalate anymore!?
Will Xavier Cross finally make sense in his promo’s? You wanna shoot buddy? You know what my details are.
