Spike TV - Episode 6 - Ana Valentine
~~~
Well, here we are again ladies and gents. Another week, another issue of Spike TV, this week we have our first guest for Straight Shootin’ Ana Valentine! This week was quite an exciting week for both Sacrifice AND Battleground, from the Brothers Black calling out Ragnarok and demanding a rematch, in a street fight! To my partner Bob Pooler calling out Bloody Business to take on Shinigami! Hell, even I called out Xander Famularo….
I guess we’re a loud bunch, huh?
The matches themselves took centre stage though this week with some intense and very close match ups. Jimmy Zane and Sephiroth Du Lac put on quite the show, and it really could have gone either way, new guys Muru and Daniel Spector put on a masterclass and it was on a knife edge for the whole thing, I get the feeling it could have gone either way and on another night it might have done. I don’t mean to blow my own horn, but the main event of Battleground was a spectacle and a half, and yours truly, made Jake “The Pissant” Conway tap….right in the centre of the ring.
Suck it.
The main event for Sacrifice though, so star studded, so action packed…..was used more as a springboard for Sephiroth and Kristoff to announce Bloody Business, and that their business is good!
ALL HAIL!
~~~
ALL HAIL!
~~~
Spike Kane: Complain if you will, but two back to back victories over Roberto Verona and The Ace? That’s quite an achievement to be honest, and to make someone as established as The Ace humble in the middle of the ring, well it made me smile.
Bloody Business: Right, these guys are nuts when they are on their own, but now they are officially a team and I’m pretty sure I felt a shiver down the collective spine of IWF. With both of these men holding singles championships, they’ve shown how dangerous they are, and one only has to wonder if they will turn their heads towards tag gold.
Mike Laszlo: The main event scene has been lacking of late, with Ortega out, and myself being excluded….someone had to step up. Surprisingly enough that someone is Mike Laszlo. Laszlo made it clear where he stands this week, with the war between Simon and Roberto, and he also made it clear where he stands with regards to the Imperial Championship. With a strong showing in the main event alongside Xander Famularo, you really have to get behind Laszlo and wonder, is it time for him to break through?
Xander Famularo: What a main event? What a show, and I’m never afraid to give my enemies the praise that they deserve. Many people have questioned Xander’s return ever since Gib retired, and some thought that he wouldn’t be the force he was before, but Xander is showing all of his critics why his last name is Famularo, and High Stakes he plans on showing me……..gulp.
Alice Pleasant: Submission victories do not come as often as you would expect, especially at the cost of a champion. However Alice took Crystal Hilton to the limit this week in a non title match and she made Crystal her plaything, forcing the Ruby Champion to admit defeat and submit, it surely makes a shocking change to the title picture, and we have to wonder if Crystal will be able to bounce back.
STRAIGHT SHOOTIN’ with ANA VALENTINE
Welcome to Straight Shootin' with Ana Valentine, Ana thanks for joining us.
Q. What was it that got you into wrestling?
The one time Assosciate of Athos Corp. And my once long-time consort Christian Mercer introduced myself and my sister to the business when we were young... Whilst the ring chewed up and spat my sister out - I found it was somewhere I could escape the inner-workings of the corporate world my father was trying to push on us - And from there, I was bitten by the bug so to speak.
Q. Was there another career that you might have taken?
It's no secret that I trained my whole young life to be a Prima-Ballerina and my injury and the loss of that dream still haunts me even today... But I fid at least that, with Wrestling, I am still able to dance, just in a far more violent way.
Q. Since coming to IWF you've featured prominently in the Diamonds division, is there anything you'd have like to do differently?
Honestly, despite all I have been through and all that has happened over the last couple of months, there's nothing I would change. Fighting against a power that seeks to destroy our division from the inside out was a war well waged and one I full intend to continue.
Q. With High Stakes just around the corner, do you have any regrets with how things have gone?
No. - It's no secret Amber robbed me of my shot last time and this time around I intend to show not only her, not only Simon and Angel and the rest of their little lackies... But every single person who has ever doubted me - That I am the true Diamond's Champion.
Q. On a more personal note, last month was a low point for yourself and many people backstage were a little worried about you, could you maybe let us in to your mindset?
I found myself in a dark place with no means of escape... Can I say everything is better? No - But I can say that it's a learning process and with the help of those who have - shown kindness to me.... Uhm... What I mean is, I am ready and the division is ready for me.
Q. Do you feel like working with Riley Griffiths is helping you?
Honestly, I was initially wary of letting Riley in my head - it's not the nicest place, heh. But I do feel that things he has encouraged me to do... The ways in which he has guided me, have indeed helped me to be where I am today.
Q. How do you feel now when you're backstage at a show?
Hungry - I am ready.
Q. Are you looking forward to getting back into the ring?
I am chomping at the bit - the moment I finally get to step back into that ring and put my hands on the woman who tried to destroy me... Rest assured, there will be fireworks!
Interesting…
Well thank you very much for stepping up and being my first guest in a long time Ana, it was a pleasure having you on the show.
I know there were questions about the suitability of this interview Spike, but I wanted to thank you for this opportunity to get my side of things out there and, well, you and I together...? Never a bad idea.
Not many victories make me happy, but making The Ace look like a little bitch, it made my day.
So as we head into the penultimate shows before High Stakes, we could be looking at a completely new landscape. New Ruby Champion? New Man of Steel Champion? New Tag Team Champions?
Can any weekly event top this Sacrifice to come?
What a main event for Battleground too, and a trial by fire for Muru.
IWF continues to deliver outstanding shows week after week, and it’s getting hard to imagine anything better than this upcoming week.
Next week, Bob Pooler joins for Straight Shootin’.
