Sources close to the Conways are reporting that veteran IWF Diamond Kathleen Conway is set to be returning soon. The devoted wife of NCW Hall Of Famer, The Ace, and mother of two is reportedly going to debut under a brand new gimmick being described as a futuristic cyborg from the 29th Century.
Kathy has not been seen in an IWF ring since the beginning of the year after being unceremoniously fired by IWF CEO Simon De Montford.
The reason for the abrupt gimmick change is unclear, but Kathy herself is reportedly very excited about the new change in direction for her character, whom critics and focus groups felt was going stale.
"If it can work for Jimmy Zane, it can work for me!" she told The Spark this morning.
For almost six years now, Kathy has been characteristically defined by her love for her husband and children and through the years we have seen her shift between love and hate for her husband frequently, and so it is going to be refreshing to see her embrace this new role with the cold emotionless indifference of a cybernetically enhanced human being.
Unsurprisingly some of her peers in IWF are skeptical about whether she really has the talent to pull it off, including those at the very top of the company.
"Cyborg Kathy? I just don't see it. A marine biologist who solves aquatic murders and deals with belligerent pond life scum in her spare time, now that I could totally get behind," said IWF, COO Roberto Verona.
"She spent years playing a retarded cat lady in NCW, so why not?" said IWF Commissioner, Zelda Knite.
