I should be used to it by now. Ryan might be my cousin but he is more like a little brother. I've been having to clean up his messes for a long time. It gets old. He is an adult, he should be able to take care of himself. He knows what I came to the IWF to do. Now I have to put my plans on hold to take part in some sort of blood feud with The Brothers Black. It's not exactly something I'm looking forward to.
The Brothers Black should know better than anyone how thick of a bond that blood can be. I don't agree with the methods Ryan uses. I never will. That isn't who I am. In my career I like to think that my actions have proven that. There are people out there who ask why I don't walk away and let Ryan deal with his own mess. That is what this is, his mess. I've been helping him with his messes since he was kid. That is who I am. If he gets himself in trouble I'm always going to be have his back. He's family. This is how deep our blood runs. It's nothing personal.
I don't need to resort to sneak attacks, or interference to beat either Eddie or Frank. One on one I'm better than both of them. Together? That's a different story all together. They are the cream of the crop when it comes to the IWF tag team scene. The experience they have in the ring together is something that can't be overlooked. Ryan and I might be cousins, but our careers have rarely found us fighting for the same thing. We know each other back and forth, but there is no guarantee that will translate in the ring. I'm not trying to say I'm not confident, but I'm realistic. There is a chance Ryan and I don't walk out as the tag team champions, I know this. I'm ok with this. It isn't what I wanted. The titles are secondary to making sure Ryan stays safe.
This doesn't mean I'm not going to give my all. That's all I know how to do. I may not have chosen this fight but it doesn't mean I don't have anything to prove. My signing with the IWF has all been to prove I still have something in the tank. It has been about preserving my past. I never thought I would have had to relive so much of my past to make a future. I wanted one last shot and this could be it. I've never been a tag team wrestler. I never gave it a thought. It could be the one last thing I'm missing. Eddie and Frank I apologize for how it all went down but we are past all that. All that is left is settling this with actions. I have a feeling the team that bleeds the least will be the winner.

Muru is just finishing up his workout. Alone. This is becoming all too common. His training partner Ryan Shane has been missing in action. Losing hits him harder than most. It's alright though because Muru is determined to keep up the regime he has been doing. He wipes his face with a towel when he feels a hand on his shoulder. It is his young lover Melanie. Lover might not be strong enough of word.
Muru: Hey!
Melanie: Have a ever told you that you look so sexy covered in sweat?
He gives her a quick kiss
Muru: A time or two. I don't feel sexy though.
Melanie: Trust me, you do. Oh, I just talked to my mom and she invited us out to dinner next week.
This gets his attention.
Muru: So you told her about us?
Melanie: Not exactly. I told her I was seeing someone. She wants to meet them. That's why she invited us out to dinner.
Muru: I'm not sure that's a good idea.
Melanie: It will be alright you know. My mom is going to see that I'm happy and she's going to be happy for us.
They are interrupted by Ryan Shane who finally decides to show up. He looks like he hasn't slept. It looks like something has been bothering him, something more than the upcoming match with The Brothers Black.
Muru: Hold that thought.
Muru gives Melanie another quick kiss and then heads over to his cousin.
Muru: We need to talk. Are you sure you're up for this? We don't have to face The Brothers Black, we can just walk away.
Ryan Shane: You can't be serious. This is the end game I've been planning all along. I forced them into this match. I wanted this match. Why would I walk away?
Muru: I don't know. You just haven't been yourself the past couple of weeks. You've missed training sessions,...
Ryan Shane: I've just been dealing with some stuff. It's nothing to worry about. I'm ready for Viewer's Choice.
Muru: If you say you're good then I believe you.
He doesn't, but doesn't want to press the issue.
Muru: So we are really going to do this, in a street fight?
Ryan Shane: Yeah. We are going to show them we're just as tough as they are.
Muru: You know it's likely they have actually had street fights outside the world of wrestling.
Ryan Shane: And? I'm not afraid of them. Isn't that obvious?
Muru: I never said you were scared. I just think we might be ill prepared.
Ryan Shane: I know I'm capable. I've shown that with the steel chair I keep busting of the heads of The Brothers Black. You, you used to be a hardcore wrestler. Surely you call pull something out of the past to help us.
Muru: I'm sure I could. I just don't know if I want to. This has already gone to far.
Ryan Shane: So maybe we should just give up then, like you said. If you are the one with doubts say so. Don't come asking if I'm ready.
Muru: No, giving up isn't the answer. We both know that. I just want to make sure we are on the same page.
Ryan Shane: God help us if were not. So, are you willing to extend your morning work out? I know I'm late but I could use your help.
Muru: Let's go then.
Everything I've set out to do has come to fruition. I've had far too many failures in the IWF and it's about time I get a win. Even since coming back I haven't done too well but that was by design. I've had my mind on one thing and one thing only, winning the IWF tag team titles. Why did I choose the tag belts? It was an easy target. The tag team division in the IWF is weak and I'm going to make it strong again. It wasn't easy for my plans to fall into place. Getting The Brothers Black worked up wasn't tough, but getting my goody goody cousin to go along with it was tough. But once I played the family card he couldn't say no.
There aren't a whole lot of people giving us much of a chance to win the match. Idiots. It's already a forgone conclusion in my eyes. Muru and I are far more talented than those hack brothers. Even if we stoop to their level we still are on higher ground. There is no reality where The Brothers Black beat us. Why do you think I've always been a couple steps ahead? It's because I'm in control and once the viewer's choice pay per view is over I will own the tag division. Now let me explain a little more of my plan.
You may have noticed the brunt of my attacks have been on Frank Black. That was by design. He is the weaker of the two. He is basically along for the ride. To be blunt, he isn't worth a damn. So why would I choose him since I am obviously the strongest in my team? Simple. A team, like a chain is only as strong as their weakest link. After what I did to him on Thursday I'm not sure Frankie will even be ready to go. Even if he is I plan on knocking some sense into him. Someone needs to. The Brothers Black made a huge mistake but it was one I knew they would make. Now they get to pay for it.
Muru will take care of Eddie, I'm sure of it. All he needs to do is muster up the courage to let himself be a man. My cousin is talented for sure, but he has grown weak of mind. He believes in fighting fair. That is no way to handle business. He went along with accepting this street fight. I hope that is a step in the right direction. Only time will tell. All I know is I plan on walking out of the pay per view holding the tag titles and nothing is going to get in my way.
Later that night Ryan shows up The Warehouse to pick Muru up for their flight. As he is exiting the vehicle Muru exits the building followed by Melanie. They are both carrying bags. They walk around the back of the car toward the trunk.
Muru: Go ahead and pop the trunk.
After a few seconds Muru tries to open the trunk but it won't budge. Muru looks up to call out and Ryan is standing right in his face.
Ryan Shane: What the hell is she doing here?
Muru: Calm down! She is coming with us.
Ryan Shane: Like hell! I don't question whatever it is you're doing with her. But this match is serious business. You don't need any distractions.
Muru: It's a good thing it isn't your decision to make.
Ryan Shane: Isn't it? I believe this is my car.
Muru: So what? Are you saying that if she comes you won't give us a ride?
Ryan Shane: That's exactly what I'm saying.
Melanie who has heard the whole conversation runs back inside trying to hide the tears.
Muru: Great, now look at what you've done.
Muru follows her back inside.
Muru: I'm sorry about my cousin. He can be an asshole sometimes. We can just call a cab.
Melanie: No, just go without me.
Muru: I don't want to go without you. If I did I wouldn't have invited you in the first place.
Melanie: It's obviously a big deal. You didn't even tell Ryan I was coming.
Muru: I didn't know it mattered.
Melanie: I'm just going to stay home. Give me a call when you get back ok?
She walks past him and back outside. Muru knows he should go after her but he doesn't. After a few minutes he goes outside ready to drive to the airport. No one is there. Melanie is gone, and Ryan is gone. Muru is alone.
Muru: Just great. Looks like I will need that cab after all.
