Last week on battleground you might have noticed that there was a superstar that failed to make an appearance. Sephiroth du Lac, the fallen angel, failed to appear this Thursday because of (at the time) unknown reasons. This sent the rumormill's tongues wagging since Sephiroth is currently in contract negotiations toward the end of his six months stint. Well, IWF.com has the exclusive info. The answer to the fallen one's missing appearance is... his daughter was sick. That's it folks. Despite the urging of IWF staff the proud father opted to stay at home to watch his daughter. A spokesman for the Du Lac family, one Sam Price, had this to say.
"Mr. Du Lac apologizes to the fans that came to see and support him in his match against new comer Bicep Charles, but my client clearly felt his families needs were more of an issue. Miss Isabella du Lac is currently resting at home after having a fever of a hundred and four degrees. We hope this does not upset Mr. Du Lac's fans and we apologize to them and the IWF Universe at large."
While this is an innocent enough excuse and actually an admirable quality to some; the speculators in the industry are still saying that Sephiroth might be entertaining other offers from rival federations. Others speculate that this is a stunt to garner sympathy from the masses or to rally support for the fallen one. Time can only tell what this will mean for Sephiroth and for the IWF. All that is certain is ratings and public opinion polls continue favoring the fallen one. Let us know what you think. Put your vote in and show your support or disappointment on our IWF Poll.
