“er…”
Xavier stirs a bit, looking around, eyes trying to adjust. The lights were bright, he jerks his arm, to no avail. Unable to move a bit of panic rushes through him, as he tries to sit up. He’s strapped down onto a table.
“Let me go!”
His mind immediately rushes, did Verona get him. Did he fail in destroying the robots, the end of the battle was a blur. Then it all came rushing back in his head, mostly the face of his now fallen beloved, a life he had taken with his own hands.
“Zelda!”
He shouts echo through the empty, white room. His eyes dart down, his body was covered in a white cloth, the blood he once remembered coating his hands had been washed away. A door slides open, making an electric buzz, as Angel walks into the room.
“She’s dead Xavier...Dead…”
His words are calm, simple, but yet still stung like a bee invading the ear. Xavier tries to sit up.
“Let me go!”
“I cannot do that Mr. Cross.”
“Why the hell not?!”
“Because, you’ve proven to be more of a wild beast, a threat to those around you.”
“I...I didn’t mean to.”
“Didn’t mean to what? Kill Zelda? Damn near kill us all with that little rage stunt?”
“I-I just…”
“You just what, wanted revenge?”
“Yes!”
“How? How would you take revenge on soldiers, on us, when it was you who committed the greatest atrocity. You were the one that killed Zelda.”
“I...I made a promise.”
“Oh did you now? Please...fill me in…”
Xavier goes to explain, as Angel steps to the side, leaning against the wall studying the young man strapped to the table.
“So that’s it? She never wanted to be a caged bird again.”
“...Yeah…”
“And you were the key to set her free…”
“She...she finally got to see the world, but she knew she would never be free.”
“Death does grant us that final escape, but you...after all this...You became something that not even yourself could control. Do you know how long you’ve been out for?”
“It feels like a few hours…”
“A week. Seven days Mr. Cross, you’ve been passed out where you lay now, locked away.”
“Why...why am I in such chains? Why aren’t my powers working?”
“Remember that alternate dimension we spoke of, where Zelda was held?”
“Ah, so you’ve hidden me away, but my powers not working that’s new…”
“Well, after your little Dove escaped, we needed to make some changes…”
“So what I am now, an ally or a prisoner?”
“The way I see it, you have great power Mr. Cross, something that could be used against me. Roberto Verona wants you, he probably sees the potential. But more so, he knows you’re an Omega...in fact, after your little stunt, I believe everyone in Imperial City has heard the rumors of an Omega…”
“An Omega?”
“You...Mr. Cross, you have a power that very few have ever dreamed to achieve, some say it’s a chosen few, by some higher power, some say atoms in your body are charged different, that you’re the next chain of evolution. But you have a tremendous power that we’ve begun to see, and now I understand why you were able to survive our first encounter.”
“But I don’t feel any different, I see that my powers evolved, but that doesn’t mean I’m some…”
“God?”
“No...I really never thought about it.”
“You’re an Omega, Mr. Cross...You have a power that could become an asset to me, or a problem. You joined our group, but now I’m approaching you from a different perspective.”
“And that is?”
“I want you to be my business partner. I want you to help me take over this city, to dethrone Verona and rule.”
“You want to be kings? I...just..”
“I understand, you just lost the love of your life. You just lost everything that meant something to you..I mean aside from your children, and your loving wife, who doesn’t know about your little fling does she?”
“No...she’s still…”
“Home? No...Verona has sent for her. Your family will be used as leverage to pull you out of hiding.”
“What?! No, how could he…”
“He’s a wealthy man in a position of power, there isn’t much he can’t do, but we can fight him. We can stop him, and save the last bit of humanity you have left in you…”
Cross tries to get up, but Angel puts his hand on his shoulder.
“You can’t bare this alone Cross, let me help you.”
“We both know you’re a snake...You deal business, and pure business alone.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“But this doesn’t concern you, I can handle Verona myself. I’m an Omega and all..I should be fine.”
“Yeah, you think so…”
“So let me go…”
“Oh I would, but unfortunately for you...Roberto Verona is also an Omega.”
The scene ends with Xavier looking a bit shocked, as Angel stares at him.
“I’m glad you’ve arrived Xavier...I’ve wanted to see you with my own two eyes, to inspect you, to see if you were truly what I imagined you to be.”
The scene opens with Verona, a red button up, covered by a black vest, with his fancy black pants and far too expensive shoes, sleeves rolled up, hair slicked back, arms folded with his head tilted to the side, watching Xavier Cross, who has just been escorted to the room.
“You know, if you wanted to talk, all you had to do was Facebook, send me a tweet or something. You didn’t have to go through all the trouble of kidnapping my loved ones, and forcing my hand.”
“Yes...Yes, all true, but I need to see you at your best...You showed me such potential Xavier, and you murdered the one bit of leverage I needed to control the world. I should kill you where you stand, but when one door closes, another opens. You, Xavier, are that door.”
“Ah, so you want to make me a tool? You really are a giant douche aren’t you…”
“A giant douche who holds all the cards. If I sneeze and you do not bless me, your family could die Xavier, is that something you want to risk? I suggest you weigh your options carefully.”
The two men stare through one another, a smug look on Verona’s face, while Xavier is holding his fury back. Before Xavier steps forward to speak.

Lazzy and Seph, I’ll go ahead and save my time, and bundle you both together, because that’s how I see you. No threats, you’re just filler, this match could probably, would probably be better between Spike, Alex, Falcon, and myself. I’m surprised they didn’t just slap you two on the preshow and call it a day. The simple fact, is neither of you are on the level that is necessary for this kind of match, neither of you deserve this kind of chance, and the generalization is that you could win, win out of pure dumb luck. You two jamokes could end up capitalizing on something stupid, and end up winning, having an Imperial TItle shot wasted in your feeble attempts to dethrone the future champion, Angel. So do us a favor, do the fans a favor, stay in the back. Don’t get in the way, you’ll just get hurt or in the way. You’re children in this match.
Also, how the fuck does Seph go from taking care of his family business to in a big match like this? Am I the only one who wants to call shenanigans? I’ve been doing my thing for weeks now to earn a chance like this, this asshole goes on a losing streak, cries a bit, and here we are. Here we are.
And Laszlo, The Queen of Mediocre? Fucking christ. He’s only queen because Mike Machado is King.
Ugh, I have a headache trying to figure this out, it’s like the Da Vinci code of dumb ideas.
Then Falcon.
Trying to recapture something, trying to find that old glory that once graced him. Back in the day, I fought Falcon when he was the man, and watching his bout against Angel, I almost believed him to be back. I mean what kind of guy kicks out on a 1 count, a fucking 1 count after finishers and signatures, this dude is some kinds of legit. But just because a car has a solid motor, doesn’t mean that the body will stay together. Falcon, you got the heart, you got the talent, but can your body really go through what it has to to win a match, especially this match. You went through hell with Angel, why go through it ten fold against these opponents.
No matter the situation, I’ll always have respect for you Falcon. You’ve done things that no other man could do in the ring, but the fact is, if you want to lay it all on the line, you want to risk your career or your life for another shot at glory, the top of the mountain.
Fine, but I’m not the man I used to be.
You want to put your life out there.
I will take it.
Now to my favorite fucking person in the world.
Alex “The loudest idiot” Jones
You know, the day Alex Jones was born, his mother started crying. No, not out of joy, because of the fact she realized she should have aborted.
The whole world agrees with her.
I mean have you sat down and listen to Alex Jones?
The dude says ‘shat’ for christ sakes. Like saying shat makes you sound refined and awesome. No, it makes you sound like a douchey moron.
Oh wait, it’s Alex Jones.
But seriously, listen to this dude some times. Let me find an example from his promo.
“You have become weak….how can your son look at you with pride now?.....”
Weak? Lost one match since I came back, yeah it was against you, I learned not to drink at an airport bar before I have match my bad.
Typical Shot at my kid, yawn.
My kids will know I’m doing the right thing where I’m at AJ, in fact, I think Night of Immortals will show the world who the true Xavier Cross is. I’ll make my first big splash in the Age of X movement.
You want me to take you serious Alex?
You want me to give a shit that I have to look at you across the ropes.
Give me a reason to care, because I’m sitting here apathetic as fuck when I think about you.
You want my blood to boil, to actually want to hurt you. I can even motivate myself to care when it comes to you. The only reason you got your own section is because, well, you annoy me more than the fake vampire, and the lamest guy in the history of wrestling.
Now. On to the real challenge.
One of my brothers in this Age of X movement, the only man who is acceptable to win this Joker in the Pack match. The only other man with the talent, and ability to come forth, and rise above the fools, and losers that we’ve unfortunately been stuck with. Many people have asked me this week Spike. They’ve asked me, is this your first real chance to get revenge.
But why get revenge when there are bigger fish to fry? Bigger problems to solve. These scars you gave me, opened my eyes, that only the strong will survive.
You allowed me to die that night, and let me rise from the ashes as the Phoenix I claimed to be, until someone stole my schtick….ahem…
Now, I am strong, my eyes are open, my ears are listening. Better than I have ever before, and I have you and Angel to thank for that. I see the problems that need solving, I see the world that needs to be reformed. I see things that need to be done, and at Night of Immortals. I will finally see myself in a position to change the landscape.
Now, let us do battle, let us give our best, because that’s the only way to decide this. Many men will talk about fate, how they are destined for this, how fate has set them on the path to achieve greatness. But that is an excuse, a worn out declaration many have exclaimed prior to such a match. I will not say I am destined, or fated to win. Because I make my fate, I make my destiny. I will win this solely because I allow myself. I lose this match, because I didn’t give it my all.
It is my choice to win, or to lose. Not yours, not an invisible rope.
Only me.
I promise you Spike, Alex, Falcon, Seph, and...uh that other guy, of course, the fans.
And especially you Roberto, Malaki, and Angel.
Pay attention. Watch me.
I will show the world why I am in Age of X. I will show the world.
Why I am. Who I am.
Who am I?

So here I am.
I got a chance.
To make a chance…
To win the Imperial Belt.
I’m so close...I can smell it…
I can feel the top…
It’s there, but I still don’t know who I am.
Do you know?
Do you?
Do...you?”
You?
Or you?
WHO AM I!
