Nothing ever stays the same.
That doesn't necessarily mean that everything has to change.
This world...
It tends to burn as it turns.
If we are not careful then we become one with those scorched into ashen nothingness.
I came back to something my cravings had missed for many months.
The whimpering that followed from all of you stamped my return with a bang.
I know most of you believe that I am a monster.
Those that refuse to acknowledge my dominance will claim that I am merely a man.
Your labels are yours to keep.
I am neither...
And my being can not be defined.
I have been sitting on the sidelines in my own private hell, torturing myself for feelings I had no control over. I wanted more, but no matter how much more I got it was never enough. My hunger couldn't be satiated. My thirst could not be quenched. My desire continued to itch through my skin until I found myself alone and cold, covered in self-inflicted wounds. I looked around at my bleak surroundings and found a peace that could drive the sane mad. It was tranquility in its' purest form and soon it convinced me that the machinations of the outside world were of no concern of mine.
I was wrong.
Tricked by my own mentality into believing a faithless lie. You see, the Earth is a big place with enough room for even my twisted thoughts. It became a fruitless endeavor lead by misguided cynicism for me to wander aimlessly with thoughts of not belonging in this world when this world is so rightfully mine.
I am wrong in many ways...
But there is one right, one truth that can not be ignored.
Some of you felt it at the Battle Royale.
The rest of you will feel it in time.
I am one step closer to redemption.
I only have to continue to do what I do best and deliver every single one of you into the abyss.
And my once and future promise stays the same.
{The hallway was slick with grime, walls plastered with eerie graffiti. The sound echoed from the distance, a clanking of steel on steel. The camera worked it's way through the tunnel towards the sparks that blew out as quickly as they came on. Eventually, a room was reached where a giant blacksmith forged heated steel with a hammer. A single light swayed overhead where the behemoth was working. From behind the camera a slender pale faced female dressed in a Victorian dress sauntered towards the big man who didn't stop the hammering even after her skinny index finger traveled across his back.}
Lady Die: Little birdy flew the coup only to come back brighter and more colorful than ever. I thought I'd never see you again, big brother.
{She continued to walk around him, eying his wrought iron carefully, examining the man beneath the blacksmith's mask. Her smile gave away her cruel intentions as she waited for him to speak. No acknowledgements were given.}
Lady Die: Mr. West and I thought the worst. We tried ever so hard to find you. You must've been excellent at playing hide and seek as a boy.
{The heated steel was raised and the glowing reflected off his mask. He dumped the project into a vat of cold water and steam quickly rose. The man walked around to her and removed his mask, revealing Lex Sense underneath.}
Lex Sense: I was never much for children's games, considering I never had a proper childhood.
Lady Die: What a shame. Hide and seek was delightful. I could never be found. Had the perfect hiding spots. Much like yourself nowadays.
Lex Sense: I'm done hiding.
Lady Die: Clearly... Although it might've been a good idea to give your lil sis a heads up. It was oh so dreadful to discover that you returned by watching the tele.
Lex Sense: What do you want?
{Her hand came up to her chest as her face mocked a perplex expression.}
Lady Die: Whatever do you mean?
Lex Sense: If I wanted you here. I would've summoned you.
Lady Die: You have forgotten your place, bro. We had a goal in mind until you shagged that harlot and shacked up with Brad's leftovers. A blood pact can not be undone and we think it's time you delivered on your promises.
{Sense slowly approached the now apprehensive Lady, staring directly into her pupils to watch as they dilated from fear.}
Lex Sense: You forget who you are speaking to and I'd be careful. I wouldn't want to rip that lovely tongue from out of your throat.
Lady Die: Yes, well... I wouldn't want that either.
{The situation became tense for a second before Sense dropped the furrow in his brow and replaced with a curved lip.}
Lex Sense: It is good to see you.
Lady Die: Sure, whatever. Are you back for good now?
Lex Sense: Yes.
{Slowly his arms outstretched and he embraced Lady into himself.}
Lex Sense: I have a new promise now.
Lady Die: Do tell.
Lex Sense: In time.
{She pulled away, smiling creepily as the scene fades to white. Static brings us back into a room with dried red substance splattered all over the walls. Hooked chains dangled from the ceiling as a solitary lightbulb flickered to life. Sense stood in the middle of the room, staring into the handheld camcorder recording this next part.}
Lex Sense: I know a thing or two about heroes.
I am the Goliath that many Davids attempted to slay.
They all failed.
So when you, Cable Arcane, talk about the heroes your lovable fans cheer for I can't help but feel pity. You put too much stock on the bloodthirsty, mate. These people revel in violence and adore the masterpieces I've painted over the years with heroes' blood. Do you think for one second that they will be hoping for my end? You are a fool if you do. All they want is more of the same. More of what I have to offer, unadulterated rage and with a ferocious hate that will not be cancelled. I am here to end everything you know and bring about a change you weren't expecting.
Before me, IWF had set its course. This federation was heading towards a marked destination that would've eventually grown dull. With my presence, the whole board has changed and now the lot of you are left mapping new directions in order to combat me. I walk into this tournament with 40 points and the rest of you are stuck playing catch up. I intended to make my statements but apparently it has flown over your heads. I wont elaborate more than I have but I will say that if this is the best IWF has to offer than it will be my privilege to make them better.
{Sense smirks, looking from off to the right before staring back into the camera with a tilted head, the muffled noise of a voice could be heard slightly.}
Lex Sense: I don't have to prove a thing. I already proved it at Bloody Assizes, a pay per view aptly named for my return. I'm afraid, Cable, that your words lack any real umph behind them. I was expecting so much more from Angel's little brother. It looks to me that you are the one stuck having to live up to the name. I could care less what anybody says or thinks of me. I don't fight for anyone besides myself and I don't live by anyone's standards of who or what I should be. I am a being that defines and then defies logic and your stereotypical thinking of my monstrous ways are for naught in a world ruled by true monsters.
The crowd can wish for my demise but I am pretty sure they will be cheering for yours more. It's what I do to entertain. I am a modern day gladiator set before every single one of you to light a fire under your asses. Am I as good as people claim me to be? I guess you'll find out at Sacrifice. However, if your presumptions are any indications, you have a lot to learn about this business. It indeed has heroes and villains but if you look at my past I've faced and decimated people claiming to be both. From Falcon to Brad Kane to even your brother. These are men whose careers I ended in NCW and that list would've been longer if I hadn't lost interest.
Alas, we can not change the past but we can change the future. Yours is in question at the current moment, Arcane. I've yet to make up my mind on how badly I wish to break you. You are, after all, a notable nemesis of mine's little brother. And GOD knows I love to tear down my enemies and those closest to them. I hope you can forgive me if I attempt to break your back simply because the same blood runs through your veins as Angel's. Brothers from other mothers but brothers just the same.
And you can't beat one without the other.
{Sense walks to his right where a woman is chained up against the wall. She looks up at him with a terrifying smile. One that lets the viewer know she's there by her own perverted volition. He grabs handfuls of her hair and pulls her head back, caressing her cheek with the fingers on his free hand.}
Lex Sense: I can understand your worry to face me, Cable. You hid it well behind your strong words but it became apparent when you focused solely on me. Terrified, you are and I can't blame you. So worried to test yourself against me that you mistakenly mentioned a man that had nothing to do with our match.
How can you forget the man with the grandest mustache?
The man that actually completes our sordid three way?
I know I can't. That hairy lip is the thing nightmares are made of. I remember you from NCW and now I get to experience you all over again. I'm afraid I am unaware if we've faced before but I guess that doesn't matter. It seems our fates are intertwined thanks to the Imperial Championship. We all want to hold it but only one can wear it. You wear your heart on your sleeve, Mike. That alone is commendable. That's as far as commendations go. Somehow your amateur background managed to sneak into this tournament which I hope would be laced with serious competitors.
The universe must have a sense of humor.
Perhaps that is your shtick. You appear ignorant yet are fully aware of your actions. I wont delve too much into your psyche since I don't want to go insane but I know you are here for the right reasons.
So I will show you the respect you deserve...
And not end your career prematurely.
You were a surprise in the Battle Royale. Your antics have become stuff of legends but I know that's not how you wish to be remembered. You want to be taken seriously? Than it is time to compete seriously. This is the beginning of something great where winning and losing only counts in numbers. People will remember the actions in the years to come so give them something to remember before I place a boot so far up your ass it kicks your mustache from behind.
This tournament is meant for the eight hungriest men that have never been champions. I've heard many say that I should've been champion by now but the thing is I wasn't ready. I knew I wasn't ready and I wish for my reign as champion to be an absolutely dominant one.
I believe the time has come.
I can not go into this triple threat with a lackluster performance simply because if I have anything to prove...
It is to myself.
The rest of you can burn as the world turns.
And that will never change.
{A palm covers the lens as a whip connects with flesh, causing a woman to scream out in pleasure.}
That doesn't necessarily mean that everything has to change.
