Last week's poll:
What is your system of choice?
Winner:
Xbox 360 w/ 6 votes!
Welcome, welcome, thank you for tuning in... thank you for the feedback that some of you chose to give, and all I can say is that I promise that this show will stick around and I will do everything I can to make this show better and better every single week. The reality check, however, is that the only way this show gets any better is by you. I need you to go ahead and tell me what it is you would like to see, what it is you would like to do, and participate! Anyways, last week was one hell of a show and this show is going to start off almost just as crazy.
For those of you who were paying attention last week, we have our very first award as the Playmaker of the Week. This week was a tough one for everybody, because there was no single winner! There was no tie... or triple tie... or the overkill. No, we have a killtacular! For those of you who don't play Halo that is five. Allow me to announce our playmakers of the week;
Playmaker(s) of the Week
Alex Jones
Freakke
Gjenrei
Joe Everyman
Mike Laszlo
All of them were tied with four overall attempts between near submissions and near falls! It was a rather low score compared to last week, but what do you expect? Congratulations to all of you! Keep making those plays count. The next thing we have on the agenda is, everybody's favorite, the plays of the week. Coming in at number five.
The reason that I chose this for the number five spot of plays of the week is simply because... the lights! Simon, did you forget about the electric bill? Oh well, it was a nice little thing happening and it allowed Eternity to take the victory for her team, but also take the pin fall away from Ayla --- it was rather nice of Tifa and Jessica to come out and save her, but I have to wonder what they are thinking? Wouldn't it benefit them to let them take out Eternity? Or are they hoping that Eternity will return the favor? We'll find out. To number four!
#4
Wow... Machado may not be a big man, but to still be manhandled like that by a man of that size, being thrown directly through the barricade and able to secure himself the victory... Lex Sense helped secure this spot as the number four play of the week. I know that I said Joe Everyman was my favorite to win the Heir to the Throne tournament since I'm not going to be in it; but with that kind of power, my vote could change over to Lex.
#3
The athleticism and toughness between both of these competitors is astonishing; I've had the pleasure of stepping into the ring with both of them --- in fact, I'll be stepping into the ring with Alex next week! --- both of them are extremely fast, and extremely accurate. The reaction time that Alex had to be able to avoid that hit was phenomenal; I guarantee that if it were anyone with just a little less experience, Gjenrei would've connected and probably would be able to put it away early. This match was great, which is why...
#2
These two put on quite a show for the fans and for everybody that was watching in the back, which is why they took both number three and two for plays of the week! This shows just how athletic Gjenrei is, because there are not very many people who can adjust in mid air and be able to land without doing at least a little damage to themselves --- Gjenrei was right back up, and able to connect with a move to Alex Jones that flipped all of the momentum into his favor. Unfortunately, it didn't last as Alex Jones would go on to win. This next one; I would like to call the kick heard around the world.
#1
Number one! Spike Kane and Mike Laszlo --- after all the talk that Laszlo has been spewing over Twitter to Infamous, and others, that one made me proud. My only wish is that it would have been me to kick the teeth down his throat... That didn't end the match, though, Mike Laszlo is still surprising the world and showing that he might be able to hang with the big boys because he was still able to kick out of that. Great performance.
Now, there were a lot of great matches... a lot of close calls, and a lot of comebacks that were needed for a number of people to win. When the lights went out, Eternity was able to steal the win --- pretty clutch, but enough to make her the clutch player of the week? No. Mike Laszlo could've captured it if Criminal Intent didn't cause a disqualification, or Spike Kane could've taken it! Rob Diamond knew exactly when to attack and secure the victory for himself... stealing it... but a win is a win. None of that takes it, though; our clutch player of the week![/i]
Clutch Player of the Week
Alex Jones
Alex Jones! After the war that he and Gjenrei waged in the middle of the ring was all over, Alex had to dig a little deeper to get just a little more from his tank and he was able to take the victory. To the surprise of many, Falcon --- I mean Gjenrei --- is a tough guy to beat. I've yet to beat Falcon... Gjenrei... whatever you want to call him.
Elite Five
#5 - Joe Everyman: You might be asking yourselves; why? What did Joe do to deserve the number five spot? The man didn't even win his match! None of that matters to me; I think Joe did his fair share to earn this spot when he was able to step out and tell Steve Awesome that people like myself, people like Joe, people like Alex Jones --- we all get into that ring week in and week out. Alex Jones has been in this industry long enough and been one of the top shots long enough that he should be able to demand a less demanding schedule, but he doesn't. I'm half surprised it wasn't him to step up to Steve Awesome and tell him to get his ass in the ring... Heir to the Throne favorite. Challenging Steve Awesome, who was the Face of the Franchise for nCw. Joe is going to be on fire and I only see him going up from here.
#4 - Mike Laszlo: Moving up just one spot, Mike Laszlo may have not defeated Spike Kane but he was able to give him a fight that he would remember. He was able to kick out at all times that we all wished he wouldn't, and none of us believed he could; as I said when I first signed my contract with IWF, I had no problems with him. I didn't like him, I didn't dislike him. He was just there. The man decided to share his words with me and speak out against me, for no reason; but I'm not stupid... Mike is a talented individual. And he proved it against the God of Xtreme.
#3 - Spike Kane: Securing the number three spot, where his team left off last week after capturing the IWF Tag Team Titles, but going into solo competition... I had to choose one. Spike Kane takes it by giving us all a match to remember, and showing the world why he is still the God of Xtreme and that he still has it. I still want to see more out of him, but who am I to judge?
#2 - Ryan Blade: It was tough not moving this guy up to the number one seed this week... he defeated me, after I was so sure that I had him beaten, but he proved why he is the Man of Steel Champion. He proved that he can bring down the very best that this company has to offer and he very well could be the very best that this company has to offer. This week, he's going to be taking on Xavier Cross; could he take that number one seed?
#1 - Xavier Cross: Remaining at the number one spot, Xavier Cross keeps it by really... defeating a nobody. Jackhammer was big --- he was strong --- but we all know that he's struggled with competition, and I've never been truly impressed by him, but Xavier Cross was still able to take down this big guy in his first match after capturing the Heavyweight Championship. He's still looking bright ahead.
My predictions for last week didn't exactly go as I had hoped; not... terrible... but not great. Not good. I went six for thirteen. It's okay, but it's still failing and I'm hoping to change that with this.
MAN OF STEEL RULES
Alex Jones vs. Seth Evans
Prediction: I'm still without a win, and Alex Jones is just coming off a victory over Gjenrei... some of you may not know, but I still have a score to settle with Alex. I'm picking myself for this one.
TAG TEAM MATCH
The Natural vs. The Motor City Mafia
Prediction: After laying out Joe Everyman, although it was from behind --- I think Motor City Mafia is going to take this one. They're not bad inside of the ring but after all their years, they're still living in the shadow of Steve Awesome.
SINGLES MATCH
Freakke vs. Gjenrei
Prediction: I was wrong last week, and Freakke has been showing promise to get better. He almost forced Bushido, the Cruiserweight Champion, to tap out... he almost ended the winning streak that Rob Diamond is still holding. Gjenrei on the other hand gave Alex Jones, the final legitimate nCw World Champion, the three time X-Division Champion, National Champion; I don't think Freakke is quite on the level that Alex Jones is on, therefore I'm going to say that Gjenrei is taking this one. Possibly... easily...
SINGLES MATCH
Bushido vs. Jake Keeton
Brad Kane is Special Guest Referee
Prediction: Hard to say where Brad Kane is going to favor, if he's going to be fair right down the middle or is he going to favor someone? I'm going to exclude him from this match... Bushido surprised me at the pay-per-view by taking the Cruiserweight Championship when almost everyone thought that Jake Keeton had a sure win --- I'm going to pick Jake Keeton just because he just got done beating Mr. Happy, while Bushido lost to Rob Diamond which is nothing to be ashamed of.
SINGLES MATCH
CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION
MAN OF STEEL RULES
Ryan Blade vs. Xavier Cross
Prediction: I wish I could say this one would be a difficult pick, but I'm going to lean in favor of Ryan Blade. The man is the Man of Steel Champion, while Xavier Cross is the Heavyweight Champion! I think that Ryan Blade is a little more skilled in the submission department than Xavier Cross and will be able to capitalize on that; if there were pin falls allowed, I might lean the other way. But because there's not, Ryan Blade.
HEIRESS TO THE THRONE
TAG TEAM MATCH
Tifa Heafy & Jessica Reed vs. Ayla St. James & Alysson Gardner
Prediction: Both Jessica and Tifa are very good inside of the ring, but I'm going to lean in favor of Ayla and Alysson. The fact remains that Ayla and Alysson have been working together for weeks, while Jessica and Tifa seem to have just combined to defeat their common enemy; teamwork will prevail and be shown from Ayla and Alysson.
SINGLES MATCH
Spike Kane vs. Cyrus Daniels
Prediction: After what Criminal Intent did to Spike, Spike is going to be pissed! He's proven that he can still hang with the best of the best in this industry, and still can be viewed as the best of the best; Criminal Intent doesn't have a chance.
HEIRESS TO THE THRONE
TAG TEAM MATCH
Eternity & Isabella Maldini vs. Kat Conway & Emma Danielson
Prediction: Eternity can make the lights go out, and Isabella just has an interesting name... I'm going to say Kathy Conway and Emma Danielson pull this one, but it's going to be a hard fought one.
RUBY CHAMPIONSHIP TAG TRIALS
THREE WAY TAG TEAM MATCH
Kate Steele & Jennifer Famularo vs. Alexis Morrison & Portia Roberts vs. Ashley Mastrangelo & Amber Richards
Prediction: This one is going to be crazy... it's not going to be about teamwork, it's not even going to be about individual skill. The one term that any of these women have to look for is "luck". They have to be lucky to secure the victory for their team and then they have to worry about what their partner is going to select? Steal or Share? I'll say that Jennifer Famularo and Kate Steele are going to get lucky, and I'm going to walk the bold line by saying that Jennifer Famularo is going to steal.
SINGLES MATCH
Rob Diamond vs. Stephen Kingsley
Prediction: What did I say? Criminal Intent has no chance! Rob Diamond!
HEIR TO THE THRONE
FOUR WAY ELIMINATION MATCH
Lex Sense vs. Ryan Shane vs. Joe Everyman vs. Bernard de Montfort
Prediction: Bernard is able to walk? I haven't heard about this, but anyways, this is going to be a hard one to call... I'll say that Bernard is going to be the first one eliminated, and Ryan Shane was able to pull the upset against Joe Everyman last week --- will he be able to do it this week? No. Lex Sense is going to make him a target, as the potential biggest threat in this match, and he's going to personally take out Ryan Shane. Then this is where it comes down to; Joe or Lex? Lex is a big, intellectual, monster... but you can't question Joe's heart! Joe Everyman. I'm putting my faith in you. Don't... let... me down.
HEIR TO THE THRONE
FOUR WAY ELIMINATION MATACH
Deathtrain vs. Cable Arcane vs. Mike Machado vs. Mike Laszlo
Prediction: Sorry, but I think Cable Arcane is going to be a quick elimination. You may have been trained by Angel, but you aren't Angel; you still have to learn the ropes before you're going to be ready to fight for the Imperial Championship. After Cable is going to go Deathtrain, then Mike Laszlo is going to get a clean up on Machado.
GAUNTLET MATCH
Xander Famularo vs. Gibberg & Thunder Sid & Soloman Khan
Prediction: Gauntlet matches are never hard to step into, but with the Heavyweight Champion looking to also cost you this... I think that Xavier Cross is going to find a way to distract Xander long enough for the final competitor to steal the victory, and we're going to see an angry Xander Famularo. It'll be good for ratings.
Clutch Results
0-1
I'm off to a bad start with this one, but I'm quite sure about this one... It's going to be the match of the week, and it's going to be Ryan Blade pulling out all the stops to get a clutch victory over Xavier Cross. Go, Ryan Blade, go!
Challenge of the Week Results
I hate to say it like this, but the winner was me. I only got a score of 900... not even a fourth of what I used to be able to get, which was surprising to me, but no one submitted their results so I don't have a choice! I win. You lose. Suckers. There were no individual challenges following the one from Trent Helms to myself in Dance Dance Revolution, which I had to decline due to the fact that I don't have the game; I'm going to make a challenge... I challenge... Joe Everyman. To What's the Phrase on the mobile app stores, best of twenty! What do you say, Joe?
Challenge of the Week
The challenge of the week is going to be a classic for everybody, and I'll be damn surprised if no one takes up the challenge of the week: TETRIS! Don't care where you find the game, where you play it; you can get it on your mobile app. Remember, you need to provide proof of your score! Good luck to all!
Thank you for tuning in this week, and good luck to everybody throughout the rest of the week. Until next week, Game On![/p]
