ARLINGTON, TX -- Reports are coming in this morning that IWF superstar Jack Gaither was arrested and booked into the Tarrant County Jail last night on suspicion of DWI. The incident happened shortly after 8:00 PM Central Time on Saturday when Arlington Police officer James McCoy clocked the venerable IWF star doing 88 miles an hour on Highway 360 in fiancee Fiona McFly's Aston Martin DB5.
Apparently, Jack was on his way home after a college reunion at a local bar when he was picked up. His blood alcohol level was .0847, which is just barely over the legal limit in Texas. Yet given Jack's clean criminal record and his cooperation with authorities during his arrest, it is possible that Mr. Gaither won't face any serious charges, but we will continue to follow this story as it develops.
In a written statement on his Facebook page, Jack expressed regret over the whole incident. "I screwed up," he would go on to say. "I wanted to enjoy a night with some old teammates of mine yet I found myself having just a tad too much to drink, and for that, I humbly and sincerely apologize to you--the fans. It's gonna be straight-up Pepsi from now on."
