MATCH
Gibberg & Fiona McFly vs Zach Staples & Paige Garcia vs Guernica & Fiona Williams vs Mike "Double M" Madness & Helena Ring
----------------------------------------------------------
Fiona McFly and Fiona Williams started the match with some high impact back and forth, with the peppy Mcfly getting the upper hand early on though Paiga Garcia began to cause chaos when she tagged herself in and beat down Fiona McFly. After delivering a big beating to the outmatched McFly, whose partner was a punishment due to IWF Commissioner Kat Conway, the plucky companion of Jack Gaither managed to wriggle through and tag Gibberg in, much to the delight of Zach Staples.
Staples entered the contest and began to dissect Gibberg which increased the tension on the apron as Mike Madness and Guernica finally had enough of waiting and began to brawl on the outside, eventually spilling into the crowd ad they began to brandish weapons against each other, only the IWF security managing to tear them apart.
Meanwhile, in the ring, Zach finished off the match by dispatching the Union of Jobbers member.

”Why?”
----------------------------------------------------------
{“Blow Me Away” by Breaking Benjamin blasts throughout the speakers, and the crowd goes into a frenzy as Seth Evans emerges from behind the curtains and marches down to the ring; during his course toward the ring, many of the fans hold their arms out to shake his hands but he has a look of determination on his face as he steps inside the ring and is handed a microphone from one of the stagehands. }Seth Evans: Over the course of the last couple months, I have waged war with a living, breathing legend… a man that is no less the god of wrestling than he proclaimed to be; I finally defeated him and I did what nobody else would have likely done had they been in my shoes. I gave him mercy.
{The crowd is eerily quiet while Seth allows that fact to sink into the minds of everyone.}
Seth Evans: The journey wasn’t easy, though, and it gave way to a person who looked to end my career… who encouraged Angel to end my career. Spike Kane!
{The crowd cheers at the mentioning of Spike’s name, and knowing what they expect him to say now.}
Seth Evans: Spike Kane—a man that I admired when I was aspiring to step into the ring… a man that has proven himself as much a legend as Angel is! A man that tried to end my career! A man that tried to end my life! I would like to know: why? I’m not a man who likes to seek vengeance for the wrongs that are done to me—I like to fix the wrongs committed by balancing it out by doing the right thing.
{Seth pauses for a moment, and takes a deep breath… he allows a smirk to come across his face before lifting his head back up and speaking loud and proud toward Spike Kane.}
Seth Evans: Today, I feel like the right thing to do is to kick your ass! SPIKE! I want you inside this very ring! Come on out, Spike!
{Once again tonight Killswitch Engage's "In Due Time" blasts from the sound system and Spike Kane walks out from the back soaking up all the boos. The God of Xtreme doesn't stop as he heads right to the ring, rolling underneath the bottom rope and climbing right to his feet. The crowds boos simply falling on deaf wars.}
Vasco Dias: You know he's got some cheek coming out here after that stunt he pulled!
Terri Morasco: To be fair his team really could have done with his help....though we know there's no love lost between Gaither and Kane.
Vasco Dias: I hope Verona fires him!
{Spike turns inside the ring to look right at Vasco}
Spike Kane: First off, you! You little shitbag, shut your god damned mouth or I'll come down there and shut it for you!
{This actually warrants a pop from the crowd who would love to see Vasco slapped about.}
Spike Kane: Secondly.....I told you that I wouldn't take part in my match until my demand was met. Yet you all thought I was joking, you all thought the great Spiked One couldn't tarnish his record with a loss. Trust me children, when you get to the level I'm on? Wins and losses don't matter.....but I see that you are still not taking me seriously IWF.... So here I stand...
{ Spike walks over to Seth Evans who looks ready to fight. }Spike Kane: You want to know why Seth? You want to know why I helped out Angel all those times against you?
{ Seth glares with confidence and nods. }
Spike Kane: It’s simple even for an idiot like you! I don’t like you Seth! I never have! I never will! You don’t got the balls to make it in this business! Men like you, you’re the dirt I wipe off my boots before entering the ring.
Vasco Dias: Woah, Spike is really taking Seth to task here.
Terri Morasco: Not surprising considering the size of his ego.
{ Seth doesn’t back down, instead he raises his mic and looks Spike right in the eyes. }Seth Evans: If I’m so below you Spike then you wouldn’t of tried so hard to take me out.
Terri Morasco: He has a point!
{ Spike smirks as he looks to the side and then returns with a vicious right hand with the microphone clenched hand! }Vasco Dias: Spike is on the attack!
Terri Morasco: We need security out here fast!
{ Spike launches himself onto Seth as he falls into the ropes and continues to hit him with the microphone, each blow making a sickening thud against the head of Evans as security spills out from the back. }Vasco Dias: Come on, we should let these two fight!
Terri Morasco: Seth wasn’t prepared for that cheap shot!
Vasco Dias: You’ve always got to be prepared for Spike Kane.
{ Security clambers into the ring and pull Spike off of Seth but Seth isn’t ready to back down and gets up quickly and throws himself into the crowd of bodies and begins to lay into Spike Kane with his own right hands. }Vasco Dias: This has turned into a brawl!
{ More security come out from the back to get these two men under control. Both fight with everything they have but they manage to drag Spike from the ring as Seth looks infuriated. }Terri Morasco: Spike Kane claims he won’t wrestle anyone but Angel Blake next, I wonder if he’ll make an exception for Seth Evans after this blow out?
Vasco Dias: I sure hope so, I need to see more of this. Those two men are two of our best and seeing them one on one could easily be the match of the year.
{ Spike frees himself from the guards and starts laughing as he backs his way up the ramp but Seth doesn’t look amused at all as he stares daggers through Spike’s chest. }----------------------------------------------------------
MATCH
Nighthawk vs Andrew Jacobsen
----------------------------------------------------------
Alison Valance: “This next contest is scheduled for 1 fall.”
{ The drumbeat of "When the Levee Breaks" begins echoing through the arena, and a raspy harmonica heralds Andrew Jacobsen as he walks onto the stage. Andrew adjusts his gloves, eyes zeroed in on the ring, and walks with purpose down the ramp, ignoring the crowd as he walks. He picks up a burst of speed as he leaves the ramp to leap up onto the apron. Andrew kneels on the apron, hanging onto the middle rope with one hand as he turns to look back at the ramp. He closes his eyes, taking a deep breath, and stands up, stepping between the ropes. Andrew walks to a corner, slumping slightly against the ropes, and stares ahead, eyes practically tunneling through the turnbuckle as he waits for the bell. }Alison Valance: “Introducing first, in the corner to my left, he is from Minneapolis, Minnesota and weighed in at 235 pounds please welcome…. ‘The North Star’ Andrew Jacobsen!”
{ As his opponent stands in a neutral corner the lights in the arena slowly click off, one by one, as the sold-out crowd rises to its feet in anticipation of what is to come. And as the opening strains of "Holding Out For A Hero (The Autumn Wind Intro)" by Emery boom out over the sound system Nighthawk walks out through the curtain and stands at the top of the ramp, hands on his hips as he looks all around at the sold-out crowd with the barest hint of a smile on his face. Walking down the ring, shaking hands with the fans in the first 2 rows of the building and making a special effort to shake the hands and give out hugs to the kids in the front row as behind him blue-and-white Roman columns of fireworks go off, the "Wrestling Machine" finally gets to the ring and stands on the top turnbuckle while raising his left hand above his head as the crowd chants "Best in the World." }Alison Valance: “And his opponent, from the fighting city of Chicago, Illinois and weighing in at 185 pounds, Please join me in welcoming the ‘Man of 1000 Holds’….. ‘The Wrestling Machine’ Nighthawk!”
Terri Morasco: “This is one of those matches that the boys in the back might have been more interested in seeing than the members of the IWF Championship Committee. Simply put, this match is a chance for two top-notch technical masters to show what they can do. Vasco, anything to add?”
Vasco Dias: “Since his return, Terri, Andrew Jacobsen has not been as impressive as I know he would have wanted. He told me earlier today that his goal in this match is to remind people just how good he is.”
{ As the referee checks both men for foreign objects or any other types of contraband they each refuse to take their eyes off of the other, a development that the crowd responds to with an eager hum of anticipation even as Nighthawk takes off his ring jacket carefully and hands it to one of the ringside attendants. Not finding anything in the way of illegalities the referee moves to ring the bell as both men stand in the middle of the ring staring holes through each other, before finally shaking hands and moving to their respective corners to go over their game plans one last time. Moving back into the center of the ring Nighthawk locks up with Andrew Jacobsen and immediately both men jockey for position against the other but can’t seem to get anything going as they push each other back and forth before they end up in the ropes where the referee quickly moves in to separate both men although with a surprising amount of negotiation considering both men’s well-earned reputation for fair play. As each man now takes a moment to stare at the other as they try to figure out the best way forward from here they move back into the center of the ring and again go for a collar-and-elbow lock-up where they again find themselves near the ropes which once more draws the referee over to break the two men apart. Squinting at each other as it is now starting to become clear that they are getting tired of these repeated stalemates Nighthawk steps into the middle of the ring one more time and this time lays his palms out flat in a knucklelock challenge which the “North Star” is only all too happy to accept. Dropping down to his back, managing to keep his shoulders off the mat as he does so, the “Wrestling Machine” then begins to try and execute a back heel trip from this position which the Minneapolis native counters by standing on his feet and pulling Nighthawk back up to a standing position and then quickly turns that right through into a standing surfboard which is reversed when Nighthawk drops down to his back before kipping up and reversing through into a standing surfboard of his own before again going back to the back heel trip attempt. Trying to quickly figure out an escape Andrew Jacobsen attempts to go for a knucklelock armdrag which the “Man of 1000 Holds” blocks and counters into one of his own as both men stand at the ready. }Terri Morasco: “For all of the young wrestlers, what you just saw is how you’re supposed to wrestle. Neither man just let their opponent have the hold they were looking for and they fought for just about everything. If this is any indication of how the rest of this match is going to go, we are in for an absolute classic.”
Vasco Dias: “As someone who once thought themselves to be a quite solid mat technician, this is a treat. But Andrew Jacobsen better be ready, because as a pure wrestler, I don’t know if there’s anyone better than Nighthawk. I mean this is someone who, if you ask Alex Jones, gave him trouble of the type he didn’t expect to have. This ought to be fun.”
{ As both men stand in the center of the ring, each one looking far looser than they did when the bell rang, they shake hands again although this time there appears to be a good bit of tension in the grip of Andrew Jacobsen. Going back to the collar-and-elbow lockup this time the Minneapolis native comes out the back door with a cravate which he sinks in deep and supplements with a grapevine around the left leg as Nighthawk is quickly drawn to a seated position as the referee quickly rushes over to see if the Chicago native has any interest in submitting to this hold, which Andrew supplements by stepping through the grapevine right through into a seated abdominal stretch with the cravate still locked on. Wincing as the hold begins to do its work Nighthawk grunts out a strangled refusal before trying to figure out the best way to escape this hold which he does by reaching inside the legs of Andrew Jacobsen to pry his own leg out which allows him to cross his ankles together and waggle the fingers of his left hand in front of the face of the “North Star” who reaches out to grab them only to get guided right through into a lightning-quick Fujiwara armbar which only lasts a couple of seconds before Andrew quickly scrambles to the ropes. Pulling himself to his feet, shaking out his left arm as the “Wrestling Machine” does the same with his neck, both men again go back to a collar-and-elbow lockup and this time Nighthawk is able to come out with an overhand wristlock which he takes to the mat by tightroping backwards up the middle rope and then armdragging the wristlock over. Placing his knee on the triceps joint to keep the arm immobilized Nighthawk now slowly begins to twist on the overhand wristlock in an effort to further weaken the left arm only to have Andrew Jacobsen dig the knuckles of his right hand into the outside of the right knee to force Nighthawk to lean his head forward, at which point he traps him in a triangle headscissors. Crossing his ankles together the “Man of 1000 Holds” slowly pushes up on the hold until he is able to free his neck from the headscissors which he does before backing away to the ropes. }Terri Morasco: “And the match we expected is happening. These are two master technicians, and it is a true privilege to watch them both attack their opponents. A lot of times, you hear about technical wrestling and it seems boring. This isn’t that.”
Vasco Dias: “When we talk about great technicians, we oftentimes spend a lot of time talking about holds applied. But what I want the young wrestlers who watch this match to pay attention to is how patient both men are. They’re not rushing into any hold, or trying to make something out of nothing. They’re just taking the openings as they come.”
{ As both men move back into the center of the ring, each man now trying to hide their weak spots from the other, they again lock up and this time Andrew Jacobsen hooks in a standing neck crank which he takes to the ground with the aid of a back heel trip as he continues to twist on the neck crank before supplementing the hold with a body scissors as the referee rushes over to see if Nighthawk wants to surrender. Letting out a strangled no in between screams of pain the Chicago native now tries to figure out an escape out of this and begins to work on loosening the body scissors which he starts by sneaking his hand inside the quadriceps of the Minneapolis native and slowly prying the legs apart before wriggling his left hand inside the neck crank to pry that loose before trying to hit a flash jujigatame on Andrew Jacobsen who quickly goes to the ropes before the hold can be fully applied. Pulling himself up to his feet, shaking out his left arm, Andrew Jacobsen again goes for a lock-up and this time pushes Nighthawk into the ropes where he waits for the referee to come over to break them apart and then lands a short forearm smash to the jaw on the break. Leaning against the ropes, licking his lips as much in shock as anything else, the “Wrestling Machine” looks at the “North Star” and asks him if he doesn’t want to wrestle anymore. Getting an affirmative nod in response Nighthawk feints a forearm smash and then quickly lands a backspin armdrag followed by a ropewalk right into a corkscrew armdrag followed by a tilt-a-whirl armdrag which sends Andrew Jacobsen to the floor. Going to follow him out Nighthawk goes for a tope con hilo but is forced to stop on the ring apron when Andrew Jacobsen moves and quickly counters with a powerslam from the ring apron to the floor. Leaning against the guardrail as he tries to shake out his left arm Andrew rolls Nighthawk back into the ring and quickly covers, glaring at the referee when the “Man of 1000 Holds” kicks out at the count of 2. }Terri Morasco: “We saw this when Nighthawk faced Alex Jones a couple of weeks ago. He can outclass a world-class technician like Andrew Jacobsen. And frankly, if he had been able to keep things on the mat, Andrew might have lost. But here, right here, is where we need to see the resiliency that we’ve seen from him.”
Vasco Dias: “We heard from Andrew Jacobsen earlier this week that he was going to throw Nighthawk around, and that Nighthawk hadn’t been in with anyone as good as him. We’re about to see if that’s true.”
{ Shaking out his left arm, looking out into the sold-out crowd at the Jon M. Huntsman Center with scorn and hatred in his eyes, Andrew Jacobsen pulls Nighthawk up to a seated position and rips at the nose and mouth which he follows up by landing a vicious seated dropkick to the face. Pulling the Chicago native up to his feet by his hair the Minneapolis native lands a quartet of vicious reverse knife-edge chops before landing a beautiful vertical suplex. Mockingly leading the sold-out crowd in chants of “Let’s go Nighthawk” Andrew waits for Nighthawk to get back to his feet before superior football-kicking him viciously right in the eye and then ripping at the nose and mouth once more as he seemingly wants to injure his opponent as much as he wants to win the match. Hooking in a seated abdominal stretch Andrew rips at the nose and mouth before landing an open-hand punch right to the palate of Nighthawk before hitting a kneedrop to the nose and going for a cover, grinding his forearm across the face as he does so. Glaring holes through the referee when the 3-count doesn’t come as Nighthawk somehow manages to kick out at 2 Andrew yells at the crowd “HE DOESN’T BELONG IN THE RING WITH ME”. But as he turns around the “Wrestling Machine” somehow finds the strength to go for a flash Kimura which Andrew blocks by driving a forearm into the nose followed by a short kick to the eye as he gets back to his feet before locking in a Japanese stranglehold. Bending Nighthawk back over his knees as he keeps the hold applied the “North Star” demands the referee come over and check to see if a submission has been called for, to which Nighthawk responds to no even as his nose is quite clearly broken and his left eye appears to be swelling. Trying to figure out a way to get out of this Nighthawk tries to float over and take the pressure off but can’t seem to do it before surrendering and reaching out with his feet to grab the bottom rope forcing Andrew Jacobsen to break the hold which he does at the count of 4. Pulling himself up to his feet, albeit on terribly unsteady legs, Nighthawk is quickly hit with a bridging dragon suplex that gets another 2-count. Glaring at the referee, even kicking the ropes in open frustration, Andrew hits the Cold Snap before covering and getting another long 2-count as the “Man of 1000 Holds” again kicks out, although with not as much force as he did last time. }Terri Morasco: “What has gotten into Andrew Jacobsen? Was it something Nighthawk said about him in the buildup to this match, because he is attacking Nighthawk with a viciousness that I don’t think anyone has ever seen from him.”
Vasco Dias: “The thing I’m wondering is this: When will the referee step in to stop this? Because right now, we’ve just seeing Nighthawk take a vicious beating.”
{ Leaning aghast against the ropes, as though he can’t figure out what to do next, Andrew Jacobsen hits a bridging fisherman’s suplex that gets another long 2-count. Screaming at the referee openly for a slow count the Minneapolis native doesn’t seem to notice Nighthawk pulling himself to his feet behind him as he continues to berate the referee before finally pushing him, forcing the referee to respond in kind with a shove of his own as Andrew walks around right into a crackling lungblower to the arm from the Chicago native before he collapses onto his back as that appeared to take almost all of his energy reserves away from him. As the referee starts a 10-count for both men the sold-out crowd at the Jon M. Huntsman Center chants “Let’s go Nighthawk!” and “Best in the World” as the bullying and brutal tactics of Andrew Jacobsen clearly have taken the crowd off of his side. Finally pulling himself up to his feet the “Wrestling Machine” leans against the ropes to try and catch his breath as Andrew Jacobsen does the same, shaking out the muscles in his left arm as he pulls himself to his feet. But as he advances Nighthawk ducks under a chop attempt and returns fire with a quintet of European uppercuts followed by a bodyslam and then a springboard moonsault that gets a long 2-count. Heading up to the top turnbuckle Nighthawk gets another long 2-count with a moonsault press which causes him to look at the referee to see what happened. Taking advantage of the situation Nighthawk sets up a palm strike and lands it before going back up to the top turnbuckle and this time coming off with a frog splash elbow that gets a long 2-count. Running his thumb across his throat to signify the end of the match Nighthawk heads to the ring apron and waits for the “North Star” to get to his feet before hitting a springboard frankensteiner. But as Nighthawk hits the springboard frankensteiner Andrew rolls through and gets a three-count with the aid of both feet on the bottom rope. Jacobsen rolls out of the ring immediately as Nighthawk gets to his feet, frustrated that his honour was befouled but maintaining his composure and dignity regardless. }Alison Valance: “The winner of the match…. ‘The North Star’ Andrew Jacobsen!”
Terri Morasco: What a dirty cheat, this was a great match and it just got ruined by the filthy actions of Jacobsen!
Vasco Dias: You want to be honourable, or do you want to win? That is what you must ask yourself

”Really?”
----------------------------------------------------------
{ We cut backstage to Rob Diamond in front of a SUCK IT banner and a not so happy look on his face. }Rob: Really Mike? You wanna call last week a victory??
{ It’s a serious question masked in a heavy layer of sarcasm. }Rob: You and Verona essentially prison raped me in the middle of the ring like the Sisters from Shawshank Redemption and you wanna act like that shit was legit!? Mike, look back into our storied history and find me ONE TIME! ONE TIME IN IWF THAT I HAVEN’T BEATEN YOU ONE ON ONE! Maybe once, like two years ago?
{ He thinks about it. }Rob: I don’t know, I don’t remember. I do remember that the last time we went one on one like a month ago I diamond cut your stupid ass face into the mat and pinned you one, two, three. But hey let’s ignore history and facts and talk about that one time you beat me in a HANDI CAP MATCH!!!!
{ Clearly he’s upset. }Rob: Tonight I’m taking on my good buddy in one on one competition, a man who you couldn’t even cup the balls of if you tried because you’re such a bitch! AND I KNOW THAT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE BUT IT SOUNDS INSULTING! Tonight, after my match, if you wanna step in the ring with me like a man. I’ll be waiting.
{ He walks off camera as we are left with his banner when suddenly he jumps back into the shot. }Rob: SUCK IT!

SINGLES MATCH
Rob Diamond vs Renee Pleasant
----------------------------------------------------------
Vasco Dias: So what happens when two friends are forced to wrestle?
Terri Morasco: Not sure
{ The opening to Mama said knock you put by FFDP blares across the pa as Rob Diamond struts out onto the ramp, the crowd pretty much goes nuts for him as he smirks and looks from side to side as the song's lyrics rock your socks off. }Vasco Dias: Here he is the thorn in everyones back side!
Terri Morasco: These fans love Rob Diamond.
Vasco Dias: Well what do they know?
{ Rob is about to make his way to the ring when Mike Laszlo comes from behind and clubs him over the back of the head! }Vasco Dias: Looks like Laszlo didn’t take too kindly to Rob’s words!
Terri Morasco: And I’m sure you’re all for this.
Vasco Dias: He shouldn’t of run his mouth, what did he expect? A pay rise?
{ Laszlo starts to kick Rob wildly as he rolls down the ramp. }Terri Morasco: Where is security!? As a matter of fact, where is Renée Pleasant and why isn't he here to defend Rob?
{ Security does start to come out from the back as Rob tries to cover his head. }Terri Morasco: Thank god, some sanity finally!
Vasco Dias: I say let them fight, it's not Mike's fault Rob has a glass jaw.
Terri Morasco: You're unbelievable, he blind sided him!
{ Rob makes it down to the bottom of the ramp where security surrounds him... and begins to restrain him with zip ties!? }Terri Morasco: What the hell is this!? What is going on?
Vasco Dias: Their restraining a dangerous and volatile person, or are you suggesting the IWF security staff are racist?
Terri Morasco: Mike attacked him! And he's not even.... ugh never mind.
{ Laszlo laughs as security pulls the now restrained Rob Diamond to his feet. Mike spits right in his face and delivers his own version of the crotch chop! }Terri Morasco: What a piece of-
Vasco Dias: Terri! Language young lady!
{ Laszlo then rips Rob from the arms of security and hits him with the MALICIOUS INTENT!!! Right on the edge of the ramp!!! }Vasco Dias: MALICIOUS INTENT! Nice, if you ask me Rob got what he deserves. Rough justice for a punk ass.
Terri Morasco: You’re freaking sick. You, Laszlo and that bastard Verona!
Vasco Dias: I am reliably informed by my colleagues back stage that Roberto Verona was concieved and delivered within wed lock Miss Morasco.
Terri Morasco: Oh, I get you were...
{ Mike gets up and laughs asking "Where's your friend now?" as security surrounds Rob again, mock holding him back though he is completely knocked out. }Terri Morasco: I hope Rob beats the hell out of Laszlo one of these days.
Vasco Dias: Never going to happen, Mike Laszlo is an apex athlete, Rob Diamond is a walking punch line. And punch bag tonight it seems.
{ Laszlo backs up the ramp with a smirk on his face, clearly incredibly proud of what he has just done. Yet, as he walks up the ramp Renée's music finally hits and the staff rushes from the back... only to meet an emerging wall of more security, the crowd boos as Pleasant tries to desperately fight through, but to no avail. The crew pull him away as Roberto Verona emerges holding a microphone.}Roberto Verona: Oh Rob, it looks like not only have you let down the fans by getting involved in a fracas with a colleague and depriving them of this highly anticipated match, you've also managed to drag poor Renée into this. I'm afraid I am going to have to officially call this match a no contest. Clearly, neither of you ever learn, so let me make this really simple for you. Effectively immediately, if you and Renée so much as get within twenty feet of one another between now and Night of the Immortals, you will both be suspended without pay. As for you Pleasant, considered yourself barred from the arena this evening...
{ The crowd boos. }Roberto Verona: And in further recognition of your behaviour, I am barring you from ringside throughout the pay per view next week.
{ Verona walks forward laughing as Rob is still in terrible shape and Renée shouts after him. }Roberto Verona: Now get these two jokes out of my arena so these people can get their money's worth!

"One Defining Moment"
----------------------------------------------------------
{Backstage after some of the early matches on Sacrifice, Mercedes Vargas is seen standing before a backdrop with the IWF logo in the background. She rubs her hands together with anticipation for her match later on tonight.}Mercedes Vargas: Firenze Everette, you want to step up and take me out? Well, lucky you. You get that golden opportunity tonight. But let me tell you what you're up against, sweetheart. If the COE jumping me from behind like little bitches for three straight weeks didn't work... if a twenty-four year veteran tried to push me away and couldn't get the job done and if two Diamonds with a combined six Diamond Championship reigns between them failed to shut me up, then what do you think your chances are? Win, lose, or draw,
they didn't break me, honey, and
you won't break me either.
After all that, guess what, bitch? I'm still living, I'm still breathing, and I'M. STILL. STANDING.
{The former Ruby Champion tosses her hair over her shoulder. She remains calm, but there is still an edge in her voice. The camera zooms in on a tight close up of her face.}Mercedes Vargas: The takeaway here? Don't make promises you can't keep, even to yourself. They promised to take me out, they all stepped up to the plate and they all went down swinging. I don't know, Firenze, maybe, just maybe, you could show them how it's done? After all, you are the Undisputed Ruby Champion, you're the "Double Diamond Champion".
{Mercedes pauses, surprised that she was able to say that last bit with a straight face. She mouths the word "really" while shaking her head. She holds up one finger, as if she remembered something.}Mercedes Vargas: Oh, and it's been a week since you topped my reign. Alright, we get it. You're think you're hot shit as it is. Well, just think of what it will mean to your growing legacy if you were to take out the biggest ego in the Diamonds Division and the entire IWF? It's doubtful, but like they say, nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm, right?
{Mercedes gives off a cheesy grin. The look in her eyes, the tone of her voice, the impact behind her words and the expression on her face would make anyone believe she actually bought what was coming out of her mouth.}Mercedes Vargas: What better way to make a statement than at the final Sacrifice before Convergence, huh? If you really hope of making that one defining moment and make this the last night you ever see Mercedes Vargas inside an IWF ring, you better live up to every word of it. Because if you don't?
{She pauses and her voices settles to a whisper.}Mercedes Vargas: I'll make sure you live to regret it. See you out there, Fire.
{With a smile and a parting wave, Mercedes turns and walks off as the scene heads back to the ring.}----------------------------------------------------------
RUBY SHOWCASE
LUMBERJILL MATCH
Eliza, Fiona McFly, Crystal Hilton and Alexis Caffrey will be at ring side
Mercedes Vargas vs Firenze Everett
----------------------------------------------------------
Vasco Dias: Next up we’ve got a Ruby Showcase for you featuring two of the top women’s wrestlers in the world.
Terri Morasco: Absolutely. Mercedes and Firenze are two world class athletes.
Vasco Dias: Both women are contenders for the Diamonds Champion in my mind.
Terri Morasco: For once I agree with you.
{ Suddenly, the arena lights turn off and the crowd is hyped up for what was in store. As the opening of “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me” by U2 blares across the PA system, the mood of the crowd changes instantly and the arena is under the subtle glowing of the lights. As the lyrics finally kick in, a figure emerges; the highlight of their attire is being under the illusion. Mercedes Vargas stops short of the entrance ramp, hands on waist, and overlooking the crowd. }Alison Valance: Introducing first/And her opponent/Making her way to the ring/Currently in the ring, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, weighing in at 127 pounds…MERCEEEEEDEEEES VAAAARGAAAAS!
{ Cheers, boos and catcalls soon greet her. Oblivious and yet satisfied with their reaction for several seconds, she flips her long hair, then makes her way to the ring. As she goes up the steps and walks to the end of the ring apron, she climbs to the turnbuckle, then turns her head back as the camera shows her determined expression-perhaps a message that her opponent will be in for a tough fight. She vaults into the ring and walks over to the opposite corner where she relaxes along the corner ropes while waiting for her opponent(s) to arrive. }Vasco Dias: The battle of the egos is about to commence.
Terri Morasco: That’s a catchy name.
Vasco Dias: Are you giving me credit for something?
Terri Morasco: Don’t get used to it I’m sure you’ll say something stupid soon.
{ Red lights will start flashing as the music starts and as Firenze Everett walks out, a red spotlight will shine on her as she walks down with a smirk on her face toward the crowd who boos her rather loudly. She walks and simply revels in their reaction toward her as she slowly steps into the ring, smirk ever present as she heads toward a corner of the ring, sits on the top turnbuckle to await her opponent. }Vasco Dias: It’s amazes me how good both these women are and yet they still don’t hold a match to Ana Valentine.
Terri Morasco: I knew it wouldn’t take you long to put your foot in your mouth.
Vasco Dias: What?
Terri Morasco: Ana is good Vasco but no one is unbeatable.
{ Mercedes and Firenze glare at each other as the referee calls for the bell. They slowly move around each other before moving in for the tie up. Mercedes moves into the side headlock but Firenze reverses her way out of it into a reverse wrist lock and wrenches the arm of Vargas. }Terri Morasco: Both women showing off their technical finesse.
{ Mercedes launches her elbow into the face of Firenze and quickly gets around her for a rear waist lock, she looks for the take down but Firenze rolls over her shoulders and lands behind Mercy. Mercy turns right into a standing drop kick from Firenze that sends her into the corner of the ring. }Vasco Dias: Firenze found a way out of that hold and delivered a nice drop kick.
Terri Morasco: She’s the Ruby Champion for a reason and odds are she’ll be a Diamonds Champion in the near future.
{ Firenze takes off for Mercy in the corner but Mercy fires off the Be Still My Heart Superkick right to the jaw of Firenze! Firenze staggers and stumbles and Mercy grabs her for the 2 to Tango arm twist into the heel kick! }Vasco Dias: Mercedes is incredibly dangerous between those ropes.
Terri Morasco: Once she focuses in there are few better.
{ Mercedes takes a hold of Firenze again and looks to lift her up into a German suplex but Firenze rolls through it and hits a European upper cut as Mercedes turns around. Firenze grabs her and looks for sliced bread out of the corner! Firenze is up and she’s fired up now as she runs to the ropes and spring boards off and delivers a wicked clothes line just as Mercy gets up! Firenze hooks her leg for the cover. ONE! TWO! KICK OUT! }Vasco Dias: Very close call for Mercedes there.
Terri Morasco: It’s still early in this match and both women are gifted athletes, I can’t see this ending that quickly.
{ Both women get right to their feet and Firenze goes for the side head lock but Mercy powers out of it and this time hits the German suplex. Mercy is up and runs to the ropes now, she spring boards off as Firenze stands and catches her with the RPM headscissors and transitions it into a facebuster! }Vasco Dias: Mercedes with the RPM!
Terri Morasco: Devastating move.
{ Mercy goes for the cover now. ONE! TWO! KICK OUT! Mercy slams the mat as she gets up. She takes Firenze by the hair and stands her up then runs her face first into the corner. }Terri Morasco: So far the lumberjills haven’t had much effect in this match.
Vasco Dias: Both women have kept it inside the ring.
Terri Morasco: I’m sure that won’t last.
{ Mercedes slams her face into the turnbuckles several more times before spinning her around and throwing her over the top rope. Firenze lands on the apron and fires off a forearm shiver to the side of Mercedes face. Firenze slings shots herself back into the ring with a clothes line! }Terri Morasco: A close call there for Firenze.
{ Firenze pulls Mercy to her feet and runs her to the ropes where she throws her over the top and to the outside! }Vasco Dias: HERE WE GO!
{ Crystal Hilton is right on Mercedes with some vicious stomps, Alexis and Fiona seem to be staying out of it as they both watch. }Vasco Dias: Crystal isn’t playing nice tonight.
Terri Morasco: There isn’t a lot of room at the top and all of these women want to be there.
{ Crystal pulls Mercedes up and runs her back first into the steel steps. Crystal starts to stomp her again but Alexis pushes her off and Fioan throws Mercedes back into the ring. }Vasco Dias: It looks like these women aren’t all on the same page here.
Terri Morasco: You didn’t think they would be did you?
Vasco Dias: No. Not really.
{ Firenze goes right for the cover. ONE! TWO! KICK OUT! }Terri Morasco: Still not enough to put Mercedes down.
{ Firenze pulls her up to her feet and looks for the Black Heart Execution but Mercedes catches her arm mid punch for an arm drag take down into an arm bar! }Vasco Dias: Mercedes has her in a submission hold!
Terri Morasco: Could the Ruby Champion tap out!?
{ Firenze fights with her free arm to reach the ropes and after several long moments she grabs the bottom rope. Mercedes holds on for the full count of four but then lets go. }Vasco Dias: Mercedes using that arm bar to it’s fullest.
Terri Morasco: Like I said, she’s dangerous in that ring.
{ Firenze moves out onto the apron to recover but Mercedes isn’t going to give her that time as she runs across the ring to gain some speed, she bounces off the ropes and comes back with a drop kick that sends Firenze flying off the apron and crashing right into the guard rails! }Vasco Dias: Picture perfect drop kick!
{ Crystal is right her like she was with Mercedes and begins punching her over and over again until she falls to the floor where she begins to kick her. Fiona and Alexis both look conflicted but don’t want to get involved. Eventually they both move to pull Crystal off but she then hits them! }Terri Morasco: Looks like the lumberjills are about to brawl!
Vasco Dias: All hell is breaking loose!
{ Crystal is now throwing rights and lefts, Alexis and Fiona are fighting back, Firenze skirts away as the brawl continues. }Vasco Dias: FOCUS JILLS!

{ FIRENZE COMES OFF THE TOP WITH A FROG SPLASH! She then pulls Mercedes up into the BLACK HEART EXECUTION!!! Mercedes is down and Firenze covers... ONE! TWO! THREE!!!! }Vasco Dias: The reigning and defending Ruby Champion picks up a big win here tonight over Mercedes Vargas!
Terri Morasco: Impressive showing by both ladies but Firenze showed us why she’s a champion, but credit to Vargas, tonight may not have been her night, but these two will give us another brilliant showing next week in the Iron Maiden.
{ Firenze celebrates... but Vargas is livid, she seems to be arguing with the referee that her foot was under the ropes. Everett wastes little time and gets well out of dodge as Mercedes continues to argue with the official as a few action replays appears to suggest she just may have a case. Vargas shakes her head and climbs on the ropes screaming "Next week, the ropes can't save you!" after Firenze who waves mockingly and blows a kiss at Mercy as we go to a commercial break. }
