I have never questioned a heart as to why it continues to beat.
Nor lungs that refuse to quit breathing.
It is in our nature to preserve our lives no matter the cost.
I see you, Joe, as a gazelle that has been cornered.
Normally, gazelles live perfect lives, grazing the pasture and galloping along without a care in the world.
Until that one fateful day when a lion decides that it must feed.
I'm playing the part of the lion today.
And because of this you decided to fight back though you can see the end is in sight.
I don't blame this route you decided to take against me.
It makes sense.
What I do blame you for is your inability to blame yourself. It is true that EverySense failed to fell the tyranny of two kings but I am not the one that is to blame for that. At least not alone. It was both of our faults that kept us from reaching our goal. I never once called you a weak link. Even when many pointed out that you were, I never believed it.
I believed in Joe Everyman.
I saw the viciousness he could commit as well as the humanity he could possess. In many ways, Joe, I was envious of your perfect life and never once did I speak ill will against my former partner. I carried you to the best of my ability and for many years I believed you did the same for me.... Until now. Now I see that you merely used me until I outlived my usefulness. My belief in you as both a partner and a friend drove me to better myself until the day you decided to leave me fending for myself.
You let me down like you let down all those wonderful six year olds that wear your shirt and chant your name.
So I reverted back to what I knew. I turned my back on everything I gleaned from you but I never lost that respect I had for you... Until now. You foolishly open your mouth and spout off word after word, saying the same exact thing in what you believe are creative ways. You try to tear me down as if I'm nothing more than an insect in the world of the American whatever; As if you have any right to say that I am the weak link. We lost together, Joe, but the minute I stopped carrying your sorry excuse of a wrestler's body I started winning... By myself.
By myself I became unstoppable.
I did not want to travel down this path with you Joe. You will backtrack and swallow your words but it will already be too late. Hell, it is already too late so tread on, mate. Keep stepping on your own toes as you stumble into oblivion and remember that I was once your friend.
And don't be surprised when you find nothing but pain at the end of the bloody trail.
For you'll be left with no excuses in tact.
{A circular object made of rich mahogany appears on your screens. There is a symbol engraved in the middle of the brown wood but the insignia means nothing to you if you don't know what it means, and you don't. The spectacles of modern technology are exempt from this holy room as all forms of modern machinery have been removed. Electronic lighting is considered a sin in this bunker that is softly lighted by candles hanging from every corner of this hexagonal room. It takes a few moments but you finally realize that what you are viewing is the topside view of a roundtable. Clergymen in hooded robes appear from the sides, each pulling out a chair and taking a seat until there are none to be had. One chair stands out above the rest as it is exceptionally ornate. One could assume that he is the head of the table.}
Head: Promise! We were given one promise and it has yet to be fulfilled. I believe it is high time we take action against this most egregious behavior. It is a slap to all of our faces and a debt must be paid.
{Some nod along as the head speaks while others don't quite agree. One in particular leans back in his chair, his fingers steepling before him.}
Head: I never once trusted this man. He has grown erratic and unpredictable with a need for violence that extends all of our reaches. He has sullied our great names and continues to do so simply by association. His family was once a noble part of this party but he made sure to rip them apart one by one. Now he holds a seat in the Inner Circle and refuses to cooperate with our agenda. He should be labeled a blasphemer and eradicated from our ranks!
{Murmurs of agreement continue as some who were initially hesitant join the conspiracy. The quiet man with steepled fingers remains deep in contemplation.}
Head: We should disassociate ourselves from Lex Sense immediately!
{The head's fist slammed down on the table and while he was expecting a room full of yays all he got was silence. The clergymen sat still in fear, staring into the corner of a room as a behemoth stepped out of the shadows. The face of Sense caused some to jump out of their seats and back away.}
Lex Sense: Promises? What is breaking a promise to a man that breaks men?
{The head is startled by the deep voice and he turns to find the smiling face of Sense a couple of feet away.}
Head: How DARE you!?! This is a private mee... ughuh...
{The man is cut short as a meaty paw wraps around his throat. He struggles in the grasp, swinging at Sense who simply continues to smirk.}
Lex Sense: Nothing is private anymore. I am not yours to control. I never was. This whole concept is an outdated one. You've all grown old, decrepit and senile. Your ancient ways and traditions have little impact on the world today. Unlike me. I will bring about change but it wont be the change you decree. I will keep my promise but not because you demand it!
{Angrily, Sense raises the man and chokeslams him down on the table. The sturdiness of the wood keeps it from breaking but the groaning of the unconscious head reveals that it did not do the same for him.}
Lex Sense: You are not my keeper.
{With that Sense turns and begins to walk out of the room before stopping short. He turns to find all the clergymen huddled around the head to ensure his safety. All except for one. Lex gets a glimpse beneath the hood. The man is clearly bald and with an unorthodox mustache that wont quickly be forgotten. He remains motionless, staring back at Sense until Lex simply turns about and walks out of the room. Whoever this man was, he was not like the rest of the seniors and Lex knew it. The scene fades to static.}
Lex Sense: Freedom.
{The words bring about the shaky recording of a camcorder that is being centered. The room before it appears to be a hospital room of some sort. Various medical equipment is strewn about. Some of it beeping with life while the rest looks broken. Sense steps into frame with a mask covering the lower part of his face. He removes it so his words could be better heard.}
Lex Sense: It appears the colonies are celebrating their independence this week. I heard the explosions a couple of days ago and feared that I was going insane until I was reminded of the date. Fourth of July matters not to the rest of the world. I do believe freedom should be celebrated but nothing is ever truly free now, is it?
Eternity is a delightful little creature. I can see she and I share many similarities. I have to admit that I find myself enthralled everytime she invades my screen. A unique little flower indeed. While she appears to be gentle in nature, at least to me, her dark streak has shown and I have to say I couldn't have asked for a better partner. We are the perfect fit even if her promo made me wonder if I proposed to her without ever knowing it. Either way, I believe we will get along just fine.
Alysson's flower is in desperate need of plucking and I think I will enjoy watching you aid her in this aspect.
{Sense turns behind him and the camera follows suit to see a woman gagged and bound, strapped down on a stretcher. She is naked though you don't get to see the interesting parts. Lex walks over to her and brushes the hair that stuck to her face with the tears of either pain or joy back. It's too early to tell just yet.}
Lex Sense: Now Alysson, I have no need to address you but I will show you the respect you deserve and say a few words. I know you are on a some sort of mission for equality or some such. I know some of you but that some is not much. Eventually I will have to make time to get to know you better in hopes of understanding how you work. I do enjoy spending quality time with interesting women.
{As is apparent by the woman tied down to the gurney in front of him.}
Lex Sense: However, today is not that day. I'm more interested in your husband anyway and one day I will be making the rounds straight towards him. On that night, you should worry about me but on Sacrifice, just keep your sights on Eternity and stay out of my way. I am not opposed to striking you down even if you have an exceptional pair of tits.
{Lex's finger begins running across a small table resting next to the bed. Syringes, scalpels and an assortment of medical tools lie before him.}
Lex Sense: Now Joe, I don't know what your future holds but if you continue to be blinded by what's in front of you you will be heading nowhere. I have accumulated enough points to put me well ahead from the rest of you. I know that could change in a week but for right now, I am your leader. That alone means you have no right to speak about me as if we are equals. Past aside, I must teach you a thing or two about respect and maybe when this is through you would have earned mine once again. However, if your in ring performance is as dull as your words, I highly doubt you have a chance.
I know when you saw your name across from mine you immediately grew tense. Fear shot up your back and gave you the shakes of a crack addict. You feared what was to come because you knew damn well that it wouldn't be good. Once we were a great union but since you've taken every chance to make what we had mean nothing. You broke my heart, Joe, so now I must break your back.
Time heals all wounds but apparently us losing to Knitely Bangs is still prevalent in your psyche. That's because since you haven't done anything of worth. Since you've simply worked the job and grew content with losing. IWF was supposed to be a fresh start for everyone. You should've taken the bull by the horns and shown the world something new. Not that same old thing every man has seen before. I hope you find what you are looking for Joe but you wont find it this week.
Not against me.
{Picking up a tool, Sense inspects it carefully before bringing it down upon the skin of the female. The camera zooms in on her face to hide what was being done to her and where. Her eyes roll to the back of her head in ecstasy as the scene fades away.}
