IWF.com reporters caught up with Spike Kane after his surprise return at Sacrifice to be Mohammed Al Thani's mystery opponent. Not a person in IWF was aware of the move by management, or Kane himself or if they were - they didn't let on. Regardless, Spike had the following to say once he returned backstage.
Reporter: Spike, can you tell us why you chose now to return?
Spike is a little sweaty and out of breath but has a huge grin on his face.
Spike Kane: For weeks on end, months on end we've all had to sit and listen to Al Thani running his mouth. Putting this company down, putting the rest of the roster down. Well, as someone who likes to pride himself on being one of the pillars that IWF was built on, I couldn't sit at home and take it anymore. I got myself cleared to wrestle, and cashed in a favour Bertie has owned me for some time.....and showed that SOB that he's not the big man he thinks he is.
Reporter: Does this mean it's over between you two, or are you expecting some kind of fallout?
Spike Kane: Oh, I don't expect Mohammed to take it lying down, but trust me....I won't be hard to find. I spend every week here watching the show, teaching the rookies, and passing on some words of wisdom to the rest of the guys. If Mohammed has the balls to face me....I'll gladly accept.
Reporter: Just before you go....how did it feel to be back in an IWF ring?
Spike faces the camera proper now, a clear glint in his eye as his smile grows wide.
Spike Kane: It felt like I was home.
With that Spike pats the reporter on the shoulder and walks off down the halls, cocky as ever. The reporter turns to face the camera, a little shocked still by Spike's appearance.
Reporter: Well, there you have it folks. The hall of famer Spike Kane is back, and itching for a fight!
