{Maria Iniesta is stood next to IWF Head Of Diamonds Division, Kathleen Conway, with a microphone in hand.}
Maria Iniesta: Thank you for joining me Mrs Conway. I know you must be incredibly busy managing the day to day operations of the Diamonds Division but I wondered if maybe you'd be willing to share your thoughts on why exactly you booked the huge fatal four way match for the Diamonds World Championship at Metamorphosis between current reigning Champion Alexis Caffrey, Emma Danielson, Crystal Millar and perhaps most surprisingly of all, Fiona McFly.
{Kathy smiles.}
Kathy Conway: Absolutely. It's quite simple actually, you see in spite of what some of my more vocal colleagues will tell you, I feel a tremendous sense of pride and personal responsibility in doing the job Mr Verona hired me to do and doing it well. The fact so many of the female wrestlers around here tend to overlook is that at the end of the day this is MY Division, it s my responsibility to ensure that it remains as competitive as possible.
Maria Iniesta: I see, so is it fair to say that this four way match is a direct response to those critics who say there is little to no real competition left in the Diamonds Division since names like Ana Valentine-Jones, Amber Richards and Jessica Reed are no longer as prominently featured as they once were?
Kathy Conway: I suppose if you insist on being pessimistic about it Maria, that is one way to look at it, but as far as I'm concerned I've done the best I possibly can with the names we still have under contract on the roster, and part of that has been to give opportunities to some of the girls who were previously being overshadowed in the division by the likes of some of those names you just mentioned.
{Kathy pauses.}
Kathy Conway: It's 2016, a new year here in the Imperial Wrestling Federation and I can think of no more fitting stage for the less established women around here to finally step and prove that they can be the change that the status-quo of the Diamonds has needed for a while now than Metamorphosis.
Maria Iniesta: I think some people were surprised that you would give Crystal Millar and Fiona McFly such an opportunity.
Kathy Conway: That's why I run things and not somebody like yourself Maria because I have proven time and time again that I can be completely unbiased and do things that are best for business. Whenever I make a business decision Maria, I set aside my personal feelings. Fiona McFly for instance, she may never be able to back up what she says in that ring, but even if that's the case, I want that to be all on her. I don't want her to ever be able to say that she never got a fair opportunity to step up to the big time just because I personally cannot stand her or her wild philosophies, so now she has the same chance of becoming a Diamonds World Champion as anybody else in the match. It's an even playing field, everybody has a twenty five percent chance of walking out with the most prestigious prize in all of women's wrestling today.
{Kathy pauses once more.}
Kathy Conway: Crystal insists that Latinas do it better than anybody else, so here's her chance to prove it too. This match is put up or shut up time for all involved. They've all talked a big game up until this point and frankly the only person living up to her potential so far is Alexis Caffrey.
Maria Iniesta: Some people would say Emma Danielson is the least deserving to be getting this opportunity and that the only reason she keeps finding herself in these big matches is because the two of you are friends, how do you respond to that?
Kathy Conway: Allow me to drop the black curtain for a second here Maria, the fact is yes Emma and I are friends, have been for a long time in fact, but then so have me and Mercedes Vargas, yet its quite clear that I'm not prepared to give Mercy the same opportunities, and why? Because outside of having one of the biggest mouths in the company Mercy hasn't proven a damn thing to me yet, but she has her own opportunity this Sunday. Fact is that whilst Emma has been unable to realise her title ambitions so far, she has still managed to prove on two separate occasions that she can stand toe to toe with the most dominant female Champion in recent memory Kayla Richards and not be deterred from her ultimate goal of re-establishing herself, and this is her chance.
Maria Iniesta: You've talked about how this is such a great opportunity for three of the competitors, but the Champion Alexis Caffrey didn't seem to be happy that you made this match and put her at a distinct disadvantage where she doesn't even have to be involved in the decision to lose her title...
Kathy Conway: My God, you really are such a pessimist, aren't you Maria? This will be the first time in company history that the IWF Diamonds World Championship will be defended in a Fatal Four Way and in case you've forgotten, Mr Verona's personal mandate for this company and all it's reigning and defending Champions has been to survive or perish, and that is exactly what Alexis Caffrey must do this Sunday if she hopes to still walk out of Washington with her title. Never before has a Diamonds Champion faced the odds that Alexis will face on Sunday, and because of that she has the ultimate opportunity to not only silence her harshest critics but also to make history by defending her title against all the odds...
Maria Iniesta: Thank you for your time Mrs Conway...
{Kathy nods at Maria before walking out of shot and the scene fades.}
