It's been almost three years since I made my debut in the Imperial Wrestling Federation. I thought it was the next step in my wrestling career. It wasn't. I signed a three year contract and ever since then every attempt I have made to be successful has failed. I've failed. I'm done fooling myself. I know Ryan Shane will never be a player in the IWF. This is something I've come to terms with. I made my money and the rest was just counting the days until I could sign with another company if I chose to do so.
Life has been good since I've been gone. I was finally able to win back the love of my life Amber. We are planning on getting married later this year. I know most people couldn't give a damn about me as a wrestler, let alone my personal life. I only bring this up because I want to show just how happy I am. I never thought I could be happy without wrestling, but here I was. The only wrestling I saw was on my television every Monday night. Call me a sucker, but I still tuned into Sacrifice. I wanted to see everything I no longer missed.
That's when I saw something that turned by stomach. I had heard that Jake Keeton would be facing Spike Kane. It wasn't until I saw Jake make his way to the ring that I believed it. Thinking about it, it made perfect sense. Jake never did no when to let it go, when to hang up the boots. The man hasn't been seen in years and he just comes back to fanfare like he never left. It's disgusting. That's just the way Jake Keeton rolls. He can't walk away. He wouldn't know what to do if people forgot his name. That's why I decided to come back. Someone has to rid the wrestling world of Jake Keeton once and for all.

In just a couple of days the world will get to see Ryan Shane square off against Jake Keeton. It's a match that's been a long time coming. When they first met Ryan never thought he would grow to hate the man, to blame him for his own shortcomings. Things had been building up for awhile and now all the cards on on the table.
Ryan stands in the bedroom of his Allen Park, Michigan home sorting through clothes and ring gear as he packs his bags for his trip to Omaha for Danger Zone. As he focuses on what he needs he can feel the presence of someone else walk into the room. He knows who it is, and he knows why she is here.
Amber Lynn: I really wish you'd reconsider.
Ryan Shane: I'll only be gone a couple of days.
Amber Lynn: You've come a long way from where you were a year ago. I've seen a huge change in you.
He knows that she's right. When he was involved in the wrestling business he was always angry. Now when he wakes up he is happy with everything he has.
Ryan Shane: I know, but there is nothing to worry about. This is a one time thing. I just want to show everyone I can beat Jake Keeton.
Amber Lynn: Why? Who do you have to prove anything to? Me? I don't care about Ryan Shane the wrestler. I care about the man you are outside of the ring.
Ryan Shane: I have to prove it to myself. It wasn't easy for me to give everything up. Even though the business had given up on me.
Amber Lynn: I understand, I do. Without wrestling we would have never met each other. For that I'm grateful for the time I spent in the business. I was hoping you finally felt the same...
Ryan Shane: You know I do. I love you more than anything Amber.
There was a time when that wouldn't have been the truth, but now? No truer words have been spoken.
Amber Lynn: Then stay here. When you asked me to support you last week when you wanted to confront Jake I gave you my blessing. You told me then it was a one time thing.
Ryan Shane: At the time it was. I didn't know he would challenge me to a match. It wasn't something I planned on.
In hindsight he probably should have known better. There is no way Jake Keeton would just let something like that slide. Ryan doesn't blame him.
Amber Lynn: If you want to go I'm not going to stop you. You just need to remember that it isn't just you and me anymore.
Amber places her hand on her belly. The two had just found out she was recently pregnant.
Ryan Shane: I will beat Jake on Sunday night and be back Monday. Like I said, just a couple of days. Then we can go back to the perfect life we are making.
Amber Lynn: Promise?
He knows this is a trap. If he doesn't promise she will be disappointed. If he does and he breaks it? The same. His hesitance to answer is enough to get him in hot water.
Amber Lynn: It's alright. I won't make you promise.
Ryan Shane: I...
Amber Lynn: It's fine. You better finish getting packed. You don't want to miss your flight.
Ryan Shane: Don't forget, Monday.
Amber Lynn: Monday...
As she leaves the room Ryan continues packing his bags. He can't help but wonder if he is making the right choice.
I want to give you all a little history lesson about Jake Keeton and myself. Let me take you back eight years when the two of us were the best damn tag team wrestling had to offer. We had the veteran looking to back to get in the spotlight, and the rookie looking for his first taste of success. It was the perfect match. We were like peanut butter and jelly. We were Keeton and Shane and we were unstoppable. That was until Jake decided he didn't need me anymore. He had used me to get back to the top and that dropped me like a bad habit. Which is actually impressive knowing how many vices the man has had.
Officially it was a leg injury that had us relinquish the tag titles after almost two months but I know the truth. Jake Keeton has always and will always only care about himself. We tried once again after that to win the titles but Keeton got pinned and costs us again. I doubt his heart was ever in it. He probably thought he was doing me a favor. He always does. I will give the man credit where it is do. Without him I may have never gotten my big break in this business. Without that I would have never discovered my passion, or met Amber. My life would've been a hell of a lot different without Jake Keeton in it.
That doesn't make up for the fact that Jake Keeton still gets to have success when his career should have been over eight years ago. I figured eventually the torch would have been passed to me and I would be the one making headlines. Instead I know have to pry the torch out of his hands. The funny thing is, I don't even want it anymore. If I never wrestled again I could live with it. I know the same can't be said for Jake. He doesn't know what he has signed on for. By asking for a match at Danger Zone he has signed his own death warrant.
For all of you on the fence as to why you should care I can only say one more thing. This fight between Jake and I is about as personal as it gets. That means you will be in for one entertaining fight. I have wrestled in a year but that isn't going to stop me from kicking Keeton's ass for all to see. I hope I've pissed you off. Now you know how I've felt all these years. I know you defeated Spike Kane and were probably hoping to ride that high for the next month so seeing me probably rained on your parade. Your time is over Jake, my time as always is “right now”.
