- In breaking news we can confirm that Renee Pleasant and Eliza Valentine have both left IWF with immediate effect. Smarknado understands that creative differences were partly involved over character direction, but the main reason cited was burn out, raising potential flags for the company after Nighthawk's recent departure for similar reasons. Relations are understood to be cordial between the pair and management, but for now it appears neither will appear on IWF programming for the foreseeable future.
- In other news, we can confirm that Roberto Verona has recovered from his injury and will be ready to fight Rob Diamond in a weeks time live on Open Fight Night. Verona' decision to sit out the PPV was questioned by fans online, but it appears to have paid off as focus on the IWF Diamond's Title match at the recent Danger Zone PPV provided one of the best matches of the year. Verona's absence, in the long run, may have to done more to help get the girls the exposure they deserve going into Night of the Immortals season.
- Officials are said to be delighted with Avery Barnes progress as she won her first ever IWF PPV match against some tough opposition. Avery triumphed over notable names this week to mark her PPV debut with a victoryand if our sources are correct we can expect big things in the future for Barnes who is seen as one of the most promising Diamond's to emerge in some time. Potential matches with fellow new bloods the Garcia's, Shea o' Hara and more promise to be potentially some of the best we've seen in a while. The investment in the division, which was top heavy talent wise for some time, appears to be paying dividends for the company.
- Speculation has begun that IWF are on the verge of potentially making some interesting new signings if reports we have heard are lead to believe. Our sources are currently tight lipped on who these may be, but the company is apparently conducting a concerted recruitment drive in an attempt to continue adding variety to it's roster. Whether this transpires remains to be seen, but it will be well worth keeping attention to Smarknado for further reports as information becomes more transparent.
- Recently we reported that official were frustrated with Mercedes Vargas, who was fined for late appearances recently. Our sources have updated us that Vargas WAS early for the PPV this week and, despite losing to Avery Barnes, if he recent change in behaviour continues Vargas could still reap the fruits of the recent investments in her.
- Unofficial reports have emerged suggesting that former IWF superstar Joe Everyman was at recent tapings, which led to suggestions that the first ever Imperial champion may be returning to the company. Our sources, however, have suggested that Everyman's appearance was simply to visit some old friends and thank management for their support in his recovery from alcoholism that blighted his IWF career.
- In other news, reports are circulating that the winner for this years Roulette is far from decided. The company is challenging its employees to impress in the coming weeks as the main event of Night of the Immortals is firmly up for grabs. This could be a report leaked to simply throw fans off the scent, but our sources suggest the rumours are genuine, this could be the most open Roulette in company history.
