It is often said that the true test of character comes not in how well you handle your victories but rather in how well you handle your defeats, and if that is true then the last six weeks have been a very trying time for Mercedes Vargas. Ever since her performance review began, the outspoken Diamond has not shied away from letting her fans know exactly what she thinks of the current state of the Diamonds Division and more specifically of the authority figure in charge, Kathleen Conway.
However, since this is professional wrestling and actions speak louder than words, the Argentine Assassin has been unable to back up her beliefs in the ring, losing every single match of her performance review period in spite of her very best efforts. The question that must surely be asked then, should Mercedes Vargas leave the Imperial Wrestling Federation?
With various online reports claiming that Mercedes Vargas is unhappy with her current direction in the company and that she has taken to "voicing her displeasure" by showing up late for her scheduled appearances on IWF shows and even going "off script" in her promos, Vargas' next move on Monday Night Sacrifice seems to be almost a foregone conclusion.
Many are speculating that Mercedes will indeed make the choice to leave come Sacrifice, but we here at IWF.com ask you, the fans, should she make that choice? Has she failed her truly failed her performance review or has Mercedes Vargas in fact done something far more important and proven her resilience in the face of impossible odds?
How much of her future is really in Vargas' hands? Is it really a choice or merely another corporate ploy by Kathleen Conway to enforce the company mandate?
Can Roberto Verona really afford to dispense of another one of their most well known names with the recent departures of Renee Pleasant, Eliza Valentine, Nighthawk and Andrew Jacobsen from the company?
