So I wanted to try something new that will be both slightly in and out of character. The power rankings never got much love so I thought I'd try something where I pick my top five characters for the week with a little paragraph about each. I will try to keep this going weekly and I would love some feedback whether you enjoyed it, hated it, want the power rankings back, what have you.
NUMBER 5
Jinx
Jinx is a relative new comer to IWF who has already made some waves. By targeting perhaps the top baby face in the Diamonds Division, Jinx has set her sights high, not wanting to sit at the back of the pack and wait for an opportunity to come her way. She's both dangerous and provocative as she seems to linger between the world of the living and the dead. What her future in IWF holds is uncertain, or perhaps I should say what IWF's future holds for her is uncertain. Regardless with what we've seen so far, if the momentum continues, she will be a force to be reckoned with.
NUMBER 4
Dre Cutler
Despite losing to the IWF Imperial Champion (in controversial fashion) Dre Cutler has more than proved himself to be among the best IWF has to offer. He has faced off with and defeated former Imperial Champions and spear headed the campaign against the House of Howlett, not afraid to stand alone against a small army, Dre Cutler is a true champion of the people. His athletic ability coupled with his charisma and likability is sure to keep Dre in the spot light for years to come. The only question I have is whether he can shake off the loss this past week and keep marching forward against the House of Howlett and pick up his first IWF Championship at the same time.
NUMBER 3
Spike Kane
Spike Kane has been many things through out his long career but the number one thing he's always been is a champion. Spike Kane continued his Man of Steel Championship reign with a definitive victory over both the former champion, James Franklin Karn and latest long time friend turned rival, Bob Pooler. Spike Kane has been an integral member of the House of Howlett, never questioning his orders and following through with brutal efficiency while also continuing to build his own bloody legacy. The only question I have is what or who is next for the God of Xtreme as he has already laid waste to his two biggest challengers in the field. Will someone step up to take his title at Survival of the Fittest in the Extinction Event or will the God of Xtreme continue to reign as the God of Steel?
NUMBER 2
Eternity
Eternity has long been an enigma wrapped in a puzzle wrapped in a bear trap. Her position at the top of the Diamonds Division is unquestioned at this point and her need to "earn" a place in the Extinction Event seemed almost trivial as the three time Diamonds Champion was never pinned or submitted in the match she lost the title in. With her spot now secured inside of a steel cage with 9 other total competitors it's anyone's guess what she will do once the doors are locked and play time begins. Hopefully for the other Diamonds involved Eternity keeps her sights solely locked on what this writer feels she never really lost and leaves the other two as well as the men to handle their own business.
NUMBER 1
Steve Awesome
At first I was going to put Eternity in the number 1 spot but after review of October Revolution and the way Steve Awesome not only fought back against but also defeated the team of Infamous, Spike Kane and Rob Diamond I was hard pressed not to put him at number 1 this week. Steve Awesome hasn't exactly been a constant name on the lips of IWF fans but long time viewers will remember him as a staple of NCW and one of the greatest champions the company ever had. Steve has had a hell of a time finding his footing in IWF with the likes of Roberto Verona and now the full force of the House of Howlett coming down on him. It's hard to say where Steve goes next, though he won the battle his contract is still firmly in the control of the House of Howlett and that spells bad news for the future of Steve Awesome in this writer's opinion.
