Well there's a reason I call it the "Weekly" top five. Sorry for the no post last week, birthday week had me pretty busy. Now let's move away from that and the reason you clicked the link.
Number 5
Johnny Gillmen
Johnny Gillmen's whole life has been an uphill battle, from blindness in one eye to no "formal" wrestling training, this kid is facing Goliath every single time he steps in the ring. This week his pride and determination helped him pick up what many would consider an upset victory over recent signing, Jace Styles, a man who has won more than he's lost since debuting in the CWI. A win like this has to be a big gust of wind in the sails of Johnny Gillmen and if he can keep that sort of momentum going then he stands a very good chance of going all the way in the elimination side of the CWI tournament. Personally I couldn't be more proud of Johnny Gillmen and this win because in this writer's eyes he represents the little guy, the Johnny Nobodies all over the world who no one expects anything out of and so when he wins a match "he's not supposed to" it's a win for all of us.
Number 4
Bob Pooler
Bob Pooler has been quietly making a come back here in IWF, despite a bombastic feud with Spike Kane, some may not have noticed as he's been moving his way back up the ranks and re-securing his position as one of IWF's elite. There was a time when Bob Pooler would have been considered a main event talent, his shirts were flying off the stands and the fans couldn't get enough of his over the top style. Since returning he has taken a more humble approach to the ring and that approach has seen him pick up some big wins, suffer a few losses but he has kept his head down and his nose to the grind stone. Whatever is next for Bob Pooler is completely up to him but I don't think there is anyone who can realistically stop him this time around except for himself.
Number 3
Dre Cutler
Two weeks ago Dre Cutler along with his partner Falcon picked up a huge win over the team of Noah Field and Cable Arcane, the Invictus and Imperial Champions respectively. Neither of those men have suffered a loss in months however their inability to work together gave Dre and Falcon just the opening they needed to become the first men to beat them since the formation of the House of Howlett. This past week Dre kept his winning ways going as he picked up a win over Todd Williams in definitive fashion and has certainly secured himself a spot as one of the premiere athletes in IWF. It's only a matter of time before Dre Cutler is an Imperial Champion, the only real question is will that time be at Survival of the Fittest when he meets Cable Arcane inside of the Extinction Event or will it be at a later date. On a personal note, I think IWF and the fans alike are ready for someone like Dre Cutler to leads us into 2017, a driven, hard working man who gives it his all every time he enters a ring.
Number 2
JFK
JFK makes his first appearance in the weekly top five and for good reason. He picked up a big win over Nighthawk and secured himself the final spot in the Extinction Event. JFK has been making some waves since returning to IWF, forming his own group known as KIWA, winning the Man of Steel Championship and going toe to toe with Spike Kane on more than one occasion. JFK is one Imperial Championship run away from being a certified hall of fame candidate in my eyes and this coming Sunday maybe his time to finally rise to the top. He has all the skills, the only question is will he be able to apply them sunday to walk away with a championship or even THE championship?
Number 1
Jinx
Jinx moves up three spots from our last weekly top five after continuing what is becoming a winning streak by defeated Helena Sawyer and Pandora Freeman in a tag team match with Fiona McFly. Fiona and Jinx have not been what I call the best of friends the last few weeks but somehow they were able to work together long enough for Jinx to pin Helena. Jinx has been beyond impressive since her debut and there are almost not enough good things I can even say about her at this point. Aside from a defeat early on in her IWF career she has been basically unstoppable, finding her footing and making her presence both known and feared. It's probably good fortune for the champions in the Extinction Event that Jinx is pre occupied with Fiona, other wise there would absolutely be a new champion crowned in the Diamonds division.
