OK.
SO.
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past several months you might have seen a few things go down in the life of one Miss Fiona McFly. The Northern Irish Diamond has had quite a stop star career in IWF so far, with the stand out moment of greatness being the Iron Maiden 2016. Fiona shocked the world by standing tall amongst some of the greatest women in the division at the time, and came out with an accolade that she can remember for the rest of her life. However, since then, she hasn't seemed to capitalize on it. Many expect Fiona to take the leap to the Diamonds Championship and really go toe to toe with Eternity, but it just never materialised. Deep down, people were wondering if Fiona's heart was really still in it, or if she was just here to do her job, get paid, and go home.
Well, this week we saw a completely different side of Fiona that may have answered that question.
Perhaps building on what occurred a few months ago when Miss McFly had a slight wardrobe malfunction, she'd been seen to be dealing with a lot of unwanted attention, both from so-called internet trolls, and adult entertainment magazine representative Richard Head. Fiona went out of her way to try and push past the incident, and prove to the world that she really was a woman of principle and that posing nude was never on her mind. Fast forward a few months to Survival of the Fittest and during her match with Jinx, one hell of a bombshell was ropped.
They're family.
Boom! Mind completely blown.
With everything going on the IWF Staff booked Fiona in a Bra and Panties match with relative up and comer Helena Sawyer. Now, Fiona has since explained why she was unaware of the circumstances of said match, but this reporter doesn't buy it - we'll get to that. AFTER said match, two men working at the venue that night were witnessed to an extreme outburst from the normally docile Diamond. The language she used, and fire she showed was something people were not used to seeing, but it did do one thing for Fiona. It caused a buzz, much like her initial wardrobe malfunction that seemed to start this all, her name was all over the internet with several people chiming in on why they support or, or think she's full of crap. Now me personally? I think Fiona has had a tough time, she's under a hell of a lot of stress, as are most of the IWF Superstars. She's a foreigner in this land, and perhaps doesn't quite feel like she belongs - but in IWF, she's proven that time, and time again.
As for not knowing the match type? I don't buy that. I spend a lot of time within the machine that is IWF. I see how things are put together, and how the roster and the backroom interact. Now, perhaps she was truly away and didn't know until the day, but surely if Fiona really is a woman of conscience like she says - she could have refused to take part in the match? I mean, only this past week have we had Cable Arcane, the Imperial Champion none the less, refuse to compete.....and we've even had Spike Kane, a Hall of Famer, refuse to fight in a Dragon's Den, or allow there to be one!
It makes you think, that maybe there is more to Fiona McFly than meets the eye? Maybe she isn't the sweet little girl next door you believe her to be? If her temper and outburst are any signs of indication, perhaps the person we're "presented" with, isn't the real Fiona McFly? Or, devils advicate, maybe she is just purely innocent in all this, and just has a habit of putting her foot in her mouth? Either way, the IWF Universe is alive with talk of Fiona McFly, and people are wondering what is next? Will there be any closer between her and Jinx?
It looks like it's going to be one hell of a ride.
