Segment: âIntroductionâ
*******************************************
{The Diamond in the Rough Logo appears on the screen.}Ten women from all around the globe, some more known that others will do battle, starting tonight!{Thereâs a flash before the competitors pictures are run down seemingly in the blink of an eye.}These women look to show the world what it is they have.{Scenes from the âIntroductoryâ Battle Royal on Sacrifice are shown. The dominance of Maxine, the valor of the many it took to eliminate her, the daring of Keira Hunter soaring through the air, and the end of the match that saw Charity Crowne winning the showcase match before the whole thing is sucked into a vacuum and youâre left with nothing but a black screen, and yet the voice in the background is still heard.}TonightâŚ
A NEW generation begins.
You get to watch it take shape, grow before your eyes, and mature into a revolution that is secondary to no other.
Tonight...we start the journey...to find the one true...Diamond...in the Rough.{Thereâs a sudden flash, momentarily blinding you before it starts to die down, revealing itself as the glimmer off of a precious diamond jewel. It starts to spin as the light gets brighter and brighter, again blinding you before youâre brought to the arena where fireworks go off on the stage, and youâre welcomed by a voice youâve become accustomed to, Terri MorascoâŚ}Terri Morasco: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, Iâm Terri Morasco, and normally on our other programming, Iâm joined by Vasco Dias, but tonight, I get to welcome someone else to the table, and keeping with the all women theme of the night, Iâd like to welcome Rachel Grimes!
{The shot widens out and we see Rachel, sitting side by side with Terri. She shakes her hand.}Rachel Grimes: Thank you so much Terri. Iâm grateful for this opportunity, and canât wait to get this thing kicked off.
Terri Morasco: Well, wait no longer as Riley Gordon is in the ring.
{The two turn toward the ring as we switch to the main camera, Riley in the ring with a huge smile on her face.}Riley Gordon: Ladies and gentlemen...WELCOME TO THE DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!
{The crowd goes crazy.}Riley Gordon: I told you that while Kathy Conway was dealing with things on camera, I was doing everything in my power to bring you fresh exciting action and that culminates here tonight. Youâll see five one on one matches, with the winners advancing to the two matches next week, the competitors chosen at random from the remaining women, one being another singles match, the other...A TRIPLE THREAT MATCH...where the winner, and the person NOT involved in the fall will advance, along with the winner of the singles match to ANOTHER Triple Threat Match in week three, where we will determine our first Diamond in the Rough!
{The crowd applauds as Riley smiles and nods in agreement.}Riley Gordon: And that Diamond in the Rough will receive a spot in this yearâs IRON MAIDEN!
{The crowd cheers again, the Iron Maiden being one of the bigger female events in the company.}Riley Gordon: So without further adieu and delay by me...letâs have our first match!
{She exits the ring as Alison Valance starts her announcement.}Alison Valance: The following contest is a first round match in the Diamonds in the Rough Tournament, and it is scheduled for one fall!
"Love..."
{The soothing guitars of "Let Love Rule" by Lenny Kravitz start to vibe through the speakers.}"...is gentle as a rose...
...and love...
...can conquer anyone.
{The lights in the arena go dim.}"...itâs time to take a stand...
...brothers and sisters join hands..."
{A single spotlight appears at the top of the stage.}WE GOT TO LET LOVE RULE!
Alison Valance: Introducing first, from Sacramento, California, weighing in atâ
{That's when "Positively' Patricia Powers steps onto the stage with a microphone in hand, cutting Alison off with an oblivious smile on her face.}"Positively" Patricia Powers: Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is "Positively" Patricia Powers, my friends call me Triple P, and you can too.
{She smiles a big toothy grin and points into the camera and continues to walk down to the ring.}"Positively" Patricia Powers: See, I know that all of you here in the arena and my opponent tonight, can't help the cards you've been dealt in life. I know that you can't help being broke and tired and out of shape and i know that because of it you all are very unhappy! And I want to help you, because I know that deep in my heart you all can be more than the depressed wrecks you currently are.
{She climbs into the ring. Smile as big as ever even as the boos come pouring in}"Positively" Patricia Powers: With my "Powers" of Positivity" program YOU TO can become just as happy and positive as I am. With my program, we can give your meaningless lives, reason to be again. With my program ladies and gentlemen, you can finally start to smile again. {A 1-800 number appears at the bottom of the screen}"Positively" Patricia Powers: That's the "Powers of Positivity" program. And Remember folks, my name is "Positively" Patricia Powers, my friends call me Triple P, and you can too.
{She hands off the mic and prepares for her match.}Terri Morasco: âŚwhat in the world did we just see?
Rachel Grimes: We saw âPositivelyâ Patricia Powers delivering her message of...positivity? I donât know how many were really paying attention. Were you?
Terri Morasco: I was. I wish I wasnât.
Rachel Grimes: The world needs more positivity...but Iâm not sure this is the solution.
{Lights out. The crashing cymbals and screeching opening chord of âRed Starsâ by the Birthday Massacre ring out, and red smoke billows from either side of the entranceway as Rowan MacDonnough stalks out from behind the curtain, golden eyes glinting in the red light as they shift from side to side. The stage and ramp are lit by swirling red light, but everything else remains dark. She lopes forward, unconsciously rolling her wrists as her eyes bore a hole in the air before her.}Alison Valance: AND HER OPPONENT, from Kilkenny, Ireland, weighing in at 145 pounds, she is the Irish Nightmare, Rowan MacDonnough!
Terri Morasco: Talk about a mood swing. This woman freaks me out.
Rachel Grimes: I know how you feel. I walked by her in the hall and I felt a chill go straight down my spine.
{The smoke seems to follow her down the ramp as she walks, reaching up and grabbing the middle rope with one hand. Rowan hauls herself up onto the apron, standing and ducking between the middle and top rope to step inside the ring. She straightens up, slowly pacing towards the center of the ring as a spiralling pattern of red light appears on the mat, and her eyes scan the crowd, head moving in a jerky, animalistic pattern. She slowly, reluctantly backs towards a corner, eyes constantly moving as she settles in to wait for the bell.} Terri Morasco: Here we go with this first-round matchup, andâŚwell, I donât know what to expect.
Rachel Grimes: Iâd say pain if one were to ask Rowan, positivity...or, well, her version of it if you ask Patricia.
{The bell rings, and immediately Patricia walks towards the middle of the ring, holding out her hand with a smile. Rowan cocks her head to the side, approaching slowly, as Patricia continues to speak, talking up to the looming Irishwoman. Rowan lets Patricia talk for a few more seconds, eyes remaining fixed on her, before slapping Patriciaâs hand away to the âoohâ of the crowd. A scandalized look crosses Patriciaâs face, but itâs quickly erased with a huge right hand to the jaw from Rowan, who follows up with a spinning back elbow and chases the staggering Powers in with a running knee lift to her stomach! Patricia doubles over, and Rowan quickly follows up with a charging knee strike to the side of her head! Patricia crumples to the mat, and Rowan covers!
ONE!
KICKOUT! Rowan seems undeterred, spinning into a low crouch and stalking Patricia predatorily as she tries to recover.}Terri Morasco: It looks like even positivity has its limits, and that early flurry from Rowan MacDonnough has Patricia Powers on the defensive!
Rachel Grimes: Rowan doesnât seem like the type of woman who wants anyoneâs help, but you have to admire Patricia Powers for sticking on-brand.
{As Patricia gets to her feet, Rowan explodes out of her crouch with a vicious clothesline that sends Patricia spiraling head over feet. Rowan is right on top of her, cinching in a front facelock and delivering a vicious grounded knee to the head. Rowan hauls Patricia back to her feet, switching to a Thai clinch and driving Patricia back into the corner with a vicious barrage of alternating knee strikes. Rowan propels Patricia into the turnbuckles with one last shot, stalking away from the buckles, before charging in and delivering a huge Yakuza kick across Patriciaâs jaw! Rowan lets herself fall backwards as Patricia does, smoothly hooking the leg on the way down!
ONE!
TWO!
KICKOUT! Again, Rowan seems undeterred, shaking her head slowly as she watches Powers clutching her neck.}Terri Morasco: The relentless assault on the head and neck of Patricia Powers has been the theme of this match from the word go. Rachel, what does that kind of damage do to someone as a competitor?
Rachel Grimes: If you canât move your head, you canât keep track of your opponent, and one would think even simple things like running off the ropes become difficult. Rowan may just be out to inflict pain, but sheâs also narrowing her opponentâs options significantly. Itâs cruel, but smart.
{Patricia pushes herself up from the mat, nodding as the referee asks if she wants to continue. She gets to her feet slowly, but as Rowan moves in she lashes out with a quick kick to the taller womanâs gut. Rowan staggers back, and Patricia leaps into a forearm shot on the Irishwoman. She hits a second, then a third, and follows up by rocking back into the ropes and hitting a huge double axe handle that finally takes Rowan off her feet. Patricia runs to the corner, climbing to the second turnbuckle, and comes off with a big diving back elbow that bends Rowan over at the waist, leaving her almost bridged on her head! Patricia lands hard, clutching her neck and looking over at the floored Rowan with a smile on her face. She begins applauding herself, and the crowd responds with boos for the egotistical show.}Terri Morasco: Whatâs she clapping for? Sheâs got to stay on top of her opponent!
Rachel Grimes: I guess a show of positivity isnât a bad thing...
{As Patricia applauds herself, however, Rowan bridges back up onto her head and toes again, pushing off and backflipping from the mat, briefly head standing before she flips to her feet, eyes blazing with murderous intent as she stares at Patricia. Powers looks back at where Rowan had been laying, eyes going wide, and she spins around to see Rowan staring her down. Patricia quickly scrambles to her feet, dashing for the apron, but as she climbs out Rowan charges after her, catching Patricia by her hair and dragging her back up to a vertical base on the apron. Rowan looks around at the crowd, shushing her with her finger, and hooks Patriciaâs arms over the top rope, cocking her arm back before beginning to rain relentless downward elbow strikes into Patriciaâs chest!}Terri Morasco: She calls this the Drums of the Abyss, Rachel, and Rowan MacDonnough may be drumming the death knell for Patricia Powers here!
Rachel Grimes: The power of positivity would encourage one to believe that this isnât the end for Patricia...I however tend to agree with you Terri.
{Shot after shot is rained down into Patriciaâs chest, the crowd counting along, and after the thirteenth strike Rowan takes a step back. Patricia is almost limp on the apron, and as she begins to fall Rowan grabs her arm and hip tosses her back into the ring with an almighty heave! Patricia hits the canvas and bounces up hard, right as Rowan leaps and twists her body, bringing her foot flashing into Patriciaâs temple with the DANCE THE SPIRAL! Rowan drops into a cover, hooking the leg!}ONE!
TWO!
THRâ
{Rowan pulls her up!}Terri Morasco: What in the hell was that?! She broke her own cover!
Rachel Grimes: We saw how much she enjoyed hurting the rest of the field in that battle royal last week, Terri. This is that same sadism at work.
{As Rowan hauls Patricia up, Patricia fires a quick headbutt up into Rowanâs mouth, trying to stagger her. The mask hides most of her reaction, but the surprised look in Rowanâs eyes tells most of the story. Patricia surges forward, wrapping her arms around Rowan, and tries for a belly-to-belly suplex, but Rowan uses her height advantage to block the move and throw Patricia off. As Powers skids to a knee, Rowan takes a step back, lunging in and decapitating her with the BALORâS GAZE! Rowan kneels across Patriciaâs chest, pulling one leg back and throwing her head back like a predator posing with her prey!
ONE!
TWO!
THREE! âRed Starsâ blasts over the PA, and the lights drop, a red light bathing the ring as the bell rings.}Alison Valance: Here is your winner by pinfall, and advancing to the semi-finals, Rowan MacDonnough!
Terri Morasco: That was barely a match. It felt more like an execution.
Rachel Grimes: Patricia Powers went in with all the faith in the world, and Rowan MacDonnough met it with hate. At least for today, evil has triumphed over good.
Terri Morasco: Over greed, maybeâŚbut I pity whoever gets to match up with the Irish Nightmare in the semi-finals.
{Rowan stares at her fallen opponent for a few long moments before dropping down and rolling out of the ring, standing up and walking to the back as âRed Starsâ continues to play as weâre taken back to the desk, Rachel and Terri looking up to the camera.}Terri Morasco: A beatdown administered by the Irish Nightmare, wouldnât you say Rachel?
{Rachel motions to the ring.}Rachel Grimes: I hope for Patriciaâs sake, the power of positivity can pull her through this ordeal...that was gruesome to say the least.
{Terri nods before segwaying into the next match.}Terri Morasco: From positivity and nightmares to the battle of the blondes!
Rachel Grimes: Thereâs nothing wrong with blondes.
Terri Morasco: No, indeed thereâs not. Letâs take you back to the ring where Alison Valance is waiting for the next matchâŚ
âLa La-La-La La La-Laâ begins to play throughout the arena as the lights fade to black.
âBitch, Iâm about to blow up!â
{Spotlights flood the stage and Brooklyn saunters out from behind the curtain; her hat pulled low over her face, both hands gripping the brim. With a confident swagger, she steps to the top of the ramp and lifts her head up, a cocky smirk on her face â acknowledging the fans with a wink.}Alison Valance: Making her way to the ring, from Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing in at one hundred and twenty-six pounds ⌠BROOKLYN ⌠MAAAAADROX!
{Brooklyn reaches ringside and makes her way up the steps, wiping her feet on the apron before stepping through the ropes and spinning her way, arms outstretched, to the center of the ring. She pulls her hat off and whips it into the crowd before backing herself into the corner to stretch against the ropes.}Terri Morasco: So what's your impression of the Diamond in the Rough series?
Rachel Grimes: With one bout that resembles an execution gone by, Iâm hoping for more competitive things to come.
Terri Morasco: That last match was brutal, but here we go with bout number two.
{Soak Up The Sun by Sheryl Crow begins to play all across the speakers. As it does we are treated to the image of Sarah Richardson emerging through the back curtain on a skateboard. She calmly skateboards to the ring and as soon as the ramp goes downwards she begins to pick up speed.}[DING!]
{The two ladies lock up in the center of the ring, with Brooklyn taking command early on by executing a standing armdrag takedown; while still holding onto the left arm, Madrox fires off a series of hard knife-edged chops to her opponent's sternum area, pushing her back toward the ropes before shooting her in. Richardson goes for the ride, bouncing off the ropes and into a big back body drop before being kicked in the back of the cranium with Madrox's low dropkick! Eventually, Brooklyn hits her opponent hard with a sit-out facebuster, transitioning into a pin...}1...!
2...!!
NOPE!!!
{Gritting her teeth, Madrox marches defiantly to the buckles, where she climbs up to the top. She tries to go for a blind high crossbody block, but Sarah instinctively rolls out of the way, leading Brooklyn to hit nothing but canvas!}Rachel Grimes: That didnât work...
Terri Morasco: That's what happens when ya go for a blind move, when ya DON'T see the person in front of you...
{Sarah seizes the opportunity by grabbing Brooklyn by the hair and throwing her down to the mat--earning a slight facepalm from our woman in stripes in the process. Yet she doggedly presses on, applying a snap suplex, holding onto her rival's waist, and applying a second, much harder, German suplex that crunches Madrox's spine to the mat! With a sly grin on her kisser, Richardson pulls Brooklyn to her feet...only to swing to the left and take her down again with a neckbreaker before going for the cover...}1...!
2...!!
KICKOUT!!!
{Sarah shakes her head before sending Brooklyn crashing into the corner; now in a seated position, Madrox is about to become a victim of Richardson's bronco buster...only to get out of the way just in time!}Terri Morasco: That had to hurt...
Rachel Grimes: It hurt me and Iâm just a spectator.
{On the deck, Sarah grimaces in pain as Brooklyn takes back the initiative, yanking her opponent up by the hair before spiking her with her Savage AF cradle DDT, nearly scoring a two-count but coming just a millisecond short. This infuriates Brooklyn, who barks at the zebra-dude for a brief moment before trying to drive her knee into Sarah's back, creating the BAMF finishing combination...but she misses, hitting the ropes instead! This lapse in judgement allows Sarah to nail Madrox with a huge dropkick to the schnozz! Now with Madrox seated on the canvas, Sarah slips her arms under theirs in a full nelson, then forces them over onto their belly and into a Camel Clutch with her arms still wrapped around theirs and her hands pressing down on the back of their head--creating the CREDIT CHECK submission hold! Brooklyn Madrox isn't going anywhere, and she's forced to tap out to fight another day!}[DING-DING-DING!!!]
Terri Morasco: A big win for Sarah Richardson as sheâll be the one moving on to round two of the tournament!
Rachel Grimes: You could see that she had the upper hand throughout the match. This wasnât as ugly as the destruction of Patricia Powers earlier tonight, much more clean.
{The camera pans to the two announcers again.}Terri Morasco: So the first two have advanced in the form of Rowan MacDonnough and now Sarah Richardson. Up next thought, might be the closest thing we have to âBeauty and the Beastâ.
Rachel Grimes: Yeeeeeah, not quite sure how Charity got stuck with this one, but sheâs in for one hell of a fight against the woman who dominated that battle royal in Maxine Valentine.
{We head back to the ringâŚ}Alison Valance: The following contest is a first round match in the Diamonds in the Rough Tournament, and it is scheduled for one fall!
{"Pop pop!"
The clapping synth intro of "Popular" by The Veronicas plays over the PA, and Charity Crowne walks out onto the stage, rolling her eyes and striking a brief pose at the top of the ramp. She smirks, rolling her wrist, and struts down the ramp, dismissing fans if they reach over the barricade.}Alison Valance: Introducing first, from Kensington, London, England, weighing in at 130 pounds, she is the Crowne Jewel, Charity Crowne!
Terri Morasco: Charity Crowne walked out of Sacrifice last week with the victory in our ten-Diamond battle royal, but sheâs got quite the mountain to conquer here tonight.
Rachel Grimes: She calls herself Simply Flawless, and looking how she does, and with the display she put on in the battle royal, itâs hard to argue. Itâll be interesting to see how she handles herself in a more traditional environment.
{Charity hooks the ring post with a hand, walking around to the side of the ring, and plants a hand on the ring apron, jumping and swinging herself under the bottom rope. She back-rolls to her feet in the middle of the ring, posing again, and casually walks to a corner. She wraps her hand around the top rope, casually yanking on it a few times as she waits and the music fades.}Alison Valance: And her opponentâŚ
{The lights dim to a red as an early warning siren plays for a few seconds before âIn a House in a Heartbeatâ starts to play and Maxine comes wondering out in a burst of smoke dressed in her ring gear and added gas mask, head half bowed.}Alison Valance: From Arklay, Missouri, weighing in at 270 pounds, Maxine Valentine!
Terri Morasco: This is the juggernaut of the tournament right here. It took four Diamonds to eliminate Maxine Valentine, and this week itâs not as easy as tipping someone over the top rope.
Rachel Grimes: You could hear a pin drop as she enters the arena, Terri. These people are afraid of her, and with that kind of look in her eyes, I donât blame them.
{Ignoring the crowd, she takes he sweet time pulling herself into the ring. Maxine takes off the mask slowly and surely to take a big breath of ringside air, hanging the thing up on the nearest turnbuckle.}Terri Morasco: First-round action here, and whichever of these two women comes out on top will be punching their ticket to the semi-finals. Here we go!
{The bell rings, and the two women slowly advance on each other. As they draw close, Maxine reaches out to try to grab Charity, and the more agile Crowne ducks underneath, delivering a quick roundhouse kick to the side of Valentineâs knee! This does little more than irritate the behemoth, however, who wheels on Crowne. Charity quickly backs towards the corner, and Maxine charges in after her, crushing her in the corner with the SANDWICH crossbody! Charity staggers out, flopping face-first into the mat, and Maxine covers!
ONE!
TWO!
KICKOUT!}Terri Morasco: Charity gave too much space, and Maxine Valentine capitalized with that huge running crossbody!
Rachel Grimes: Well, her name is Charity...but I donât think thatâs what she had in mind.
{Maxine grabs Charity by the hair, hauling her up off the canvas as she struggles against her grip. Valentine rears back and delivers a thunderous headbutt, keeping hold of Charity as she staggers, and delivers a second. She lets go, and a jelly-legged Charity stumbles back and forth. Maxine hits the ropes, and Charity lurches forward into a run as well, ducking under Maxineâs clothesline. Charity leaps at her with a forearm shot, staggering the big woman as it impacts. Seeing its effect, Charity nods, hitting the ropes and delivering a second shot, further staggering her. She attempts a third leaping forearm, but Maxine catches her with an arm, wrapping a massive hand around Charityâs throat as she struggles!}Rachel Grimes: We might be saying Goodnight, Alice pretty soon! Valentineâs got her by the throat!
Terri Morasco: Looking for that chokeslam, and Charity Crowneâs got nowhere to go!
{As Maxine hoists Charity up, however, Charity lashes out with a kick to Maxineâs face, causing the Missouri native to drop her. Charity presses the moment, spinning and cracking Maxine across the head with a reverse roundhouse kick! Maxine straightens up from the impact, glaring daggers at Charity and snarling at her. Charity gulps exaggeratedly, backing towards the corner, and Maxine charges again, looking for another SANDWICH! NO! Charity rolls out of the way at the last second, leaving Maxine to crash into the turnbuckles! Charity dashes to the other side of the ring, charging and handspringing in with a back elbow to Valentine as she straightens up! The series of impacts drops Maxine to her knees, where sheâs met with a flipping leg drop to the back of her neck, and as Maxine rolls onto her back, clutching her neck, Charity hits the ropes again and comes off with a cartwheel into a moonsault to complete the FLOOR ROUTINE! She leans into a cover, propping her elbow up across Maxineâs chest!
ONE!
TWO!
Maxine kicks out, pressing Charity clear of her by a good foot!}Terri Morasco: Excellent ring awareness from Charity Crowne, but the pure power of Maxine Valentine is on display here again!
Rachel Grimes: That was her best shot yet, and Valentine just pressed her off like she was an unruly cat!
{Charity gets to her feet quickly, and scrambles for the apron when she sees Maxine rising. Maxine charges her, and Charity, thinking quickly, grabs her by the head as she charges, dropping down and guillotining her throat across the top rope! Charity hops back up onto the apron, meeting Maxineâs second charge with a shoulder thrust, and scrambles up the turnbuckles, measuring Maxine as she turns around. Charity poses briefly before flipping forward, looking for the ACT OF CHARITY!
âŚNO! Maxine catches her mid air, leaving Charity conveniently in powerbomb position! Charity begins to punch away at Maxine, desperately trying to avoid the Outbreak powerbomb! Maxine lifts her up a little more again, but Charity flips backwards, wrapping her legs around Maxineâs head and hauling her over with a massive hurricanrana! Charity quickly cradles one leg!
ONE!
TWO!
KICKOUT! Charity lands on her elbows and knees, and pounds the mat in frustration, letting out a scream before turning and accosting the official, demanding he count three.}Terri Morasco: Charity Crowne doing a little jawing with the referee there, but the count only goes so fast here.
Rachel Grimes: Sheâd better watch herself, both from DQ and the fact sheâs giving Maxine time to rest.
{Charity turns back to Maxine, shaking her head, and delivers a vicious kick to the side of her head before kneeling and applying a camel clutch. She hauls back on the bigger womanâs head, trying desperately to find purchase. However, she canât quite find the right leverage, and Maxine stands straight up, Charity wisely deciding to drop off before sheâs taken for an even more painful ride. Maxine turns around, and Charity charges her, looking for a leaping calf kickâŚonly to be caught by Maxine and spun through into the REDCAP-PLEX! Charity is spiked on her head, head standing before flopping onto her stomach, and Maxine gets to her knees, growling to the crowd.}Terri Morasco: Maxine Valentine just put Charity Crowneâs spine all out of alignment with that brutal suplex! Sheâs got to be on dream street now.
Rachel Grimes: The law of inertia says that an object in motion stays in motion until acted on, and an object the size of Maxine Valentine picking up speed can only be bad news for anyone in front of her.
{Maxine cracks her neck, walking over and hauling Charity up to her feet again. She delivers a massive right hand, and Charity stumbles back into the ropes, coming back off with the BACKHAND SERVE! NO! Maxine catches her by the throat again, this time successfully connecting with the GOODBYE, ALICE chokeslam! Charity is laid out on the mat, and now Maxine looms over her, dragging her thumb across her throat with a cruel sneer on her face.}Terri Morasco: Sheâs signaling for the end! Could this be all she wrote for Charity Crowne?
Rachel Grimes: We saw her hit that Tombstone variant she calls the T-Virus on Brooklyn Madrox last week, and I think sheâs got the sickness in mind for Charity here tonight.
{Maxine hauls Charity, bow-legged, to her feet, and scoops her up on her shoulder in powerslam position, the prelude to the T-Virus. She takes a few steps towards the center of the ring, and as she does Charity comes to life, kicking her feet and fighting the move. Maxine holds on, however, and thinking quickly, Charity reaches forward and rakes the exposed eyes of Maxine Valentine. Valentineâs hands fly to her eyes, and Charity is able to use the moment to throw her weight backwards, landing on her feet and spinning Maxine around smoothly into the DIAMOND CUTTER! The crowd pops for the move despite itself, and Charity falls into the cover, hooking Maxineâs outside leg!
ONE!
TWO!
THREE! âPopularâ plays, and Maxine kicks out at the 3.1 second mark, clearly infuriated with herself.}Alison Valance: Here is your winner by pinfall, and advancing to the semi-finals, Charity Crowne!
Rachel Grimes: By hook or crook, Charity pulls this one out.
Terri Morasco: It wasnât the prettiest thing in the world.
Rachel Grimes: But it gets the job done, and Charity Crowne has punched her ticket to the semi-finals!
Terri Morasco: Regardless of the shady tactics, Charity Crowne has advanced, and she is wasting no time getting out of here with her spoils!
{Indeed, Charity has fled the ring, backing up the ramp as Maxine hauls herself to her knees, glaring murderously after her as the Englishwoman runs to the back. Valentine growls, climbing out of the ring and stalking after Charity as we head back to the announcerâs table.}Terri Morasco: What an event this has been thus far, with the possible odds on favorite, Maxine Valentine being taken out by Charity Crowne in the last match.
Rachel Grimes: Iâm still in shock a bit, but thatâs the world of professional wrestling.
Terri Morasco: That it is, and Iâd like to announce here tonight, that next week in the Semi Final edition of the Diamond in the Rough, we will have none other than the current Diamonds Champion, Paige Garcia, and her sister Sara, sitting with us here at ringside, providing their insight.
Rachel Grimes: Thatâs a big announcement for next week. What about the rest of tonight? We still have two matches to go!
Terri Morasco: That we do, and with that...letâs head up to Alison.
Alison Valance: The following is scheduled for one fallâŚ
{âJust a Girlâ by No Doubt hits the speakers of the arena as Violet Madeira heads to the ring.}Terri Morasco: This young lady had some moments in that battle royal.
Rachel Grimes: She sure did, but tonight is a little different. Tonight sheâs in a one on one situation. Letâs see how things go.
Alison Valance: From Boston, Mass, weighing in at 137 poundsâŚâThe American Angelâ...VIOLET...MADEIRA!
{Violet steps through the ropes and poses for the crowd who cheer her on. She backs into the corner with a smile on her face, awaiting her opponent.}{The arena darkens as âFeel Invincibleâ by Skillet hits the sound system a single light shines down onto the stage as Abigail Spencer walks out onto the stage once the vocals start, her hood up, once the female backing vocals kick in she drops to her knees , her arms outstretched at her sides and as the vocals say âYOU MAKE ME FEEL INVINCIBLEâ she throws her hands into the air and her hood falls backwards as the light shines down on her face before the house lights flash on and she makes her way to the ring, completely ignoring the crowd and everyone around her.}Alison Valance: From Texas, weighing 117 pounds...Abigail Spencer!
Terri Morasco: Another member of the Spencer Clan, this woman means business.
Rachel Grimes: Most of these women do...she just seems a bit more estranged about it.
{The bell rings, as Violet makes her final stretch on the ropes, only to be clobbered into the corner by a charging Abigail who unleashes fists of fury on the American Angel who is beaten into a seated position in the corner. She stomps out to the corner, screaming before turning back and crashing into Violet with a running hip check in the corner that causes Madeira to seemingly go limp.}Rachel Grimes: This doesnât seem right! Violet never got to finish her stretch when she was attacked by this mad woman.
Terri Morasco: Mad being the operative word here.
{Abigail pulls Violet to the center of the ring and mounts her, again unleashing strikes to her face as Violet does her best to cover up before the referee steps in to break things up, forcing Abigail to her feet and backing her a few steps away from Violet who rolls over first to her stomach, then her back wincing in pain. Abigail stomps forward, but Violet rolls her up...ONE...TWO...NO!}Rachel Grimes: That was close.
Terri Morasco: Violet was nearly able to get the best of an angry Abigail Spencer.
{Both get to their feet and Abigail swings wildly with a Clothesline, but Violet is able to duck and avoid it, and turns to hit Abigail in the face with a SUPERKICK! Abigail collapses on her back and Violet falls back for the cover...ONE...TWO...NO! Abigail gets her shoulder off the mat.}Rachel Grimes: Violet connected with the huge kick, but somehow, Abigail shows the wherewithal to get the shoulder up off the mat.
Terri Morasco: She does, and perhaps thatâs getting to Violet?
{Violet slaps the mat in frustration after landing such a perfect kick. She stalks Abigail and kicks her in the gut, looking for a Snap Suplex but itâs blocked by the Texan who then turns it into a Snap Suplex of her own! Abigail lifts Violet to her feet, but Violet is able to connect with some strikes to Abigailâs midsection before running to the ropes, but Abigail springs to life, catches Violet, bending her backward before swiftly planting her into the mat, face-first with the âRebel Yellâ (Sister Abigail)!
She hooks the legâŚ
ONE! TWO! THREE!
The bell rings.}Alison Valance: Here is your winner, advancing to week two...ABIGAIL...SPENCER!
{Abigail celebrates the win, taunting the crowd and viewers at home as we go back to the desk.}Terri Morasco: This night has really shaped up to be something good, and I hope the tournament can carry this momentum forward.
Rachel Grimes: I donât doubt it for a second, but girl, we got one more match here tonight!
Terri Morasco: That we do...letâs go back to the ringâŚ
Alison Valance: The following contest is your MAIN EVENT!
{As the lights dim, the opening to the Cahill Club Mix version of Sia's "Alive" begins to play as Yulia Malakova steps onto the stage. Fog appears on the ramp and tiny "snowflakes" begin to fall from the ceiling, creating a "winter"-themed visual as Yulia slowly walks down to the ring, giving a few lucky fans hugs along the way.}Alison Valance: From, Grozny, Chechnya, Russia, weighing 147 pounds...YULIA...MALAKOOOOVA!
Terri Morasco: The âfriendâ of Johnny Gillmen, looking to make her own mark in this Diamond in the Rough Tournament.
Rachel Grimes: They all are, and some already have here tonight.
Alison Valance: And her opponentâŚ
{"Hanging On By A Thread" by The Letter Black begins to play as Keira walks out onto the stage, a leather jacket covering her pale upper body, hanging open. At the eleven second mark as the lyrics begin, she rips the jacket off and heads to the ring.}Alison Valance: From Los Angeles, California, weighing in at 128 pounds...KEIRA...HUNTERRRR!!!
{Keira jumps up on the apron and steps into the ring. She starts smacking her fist into her hand, waiting for the match to begin.}Terri Morasco: All of the women in this tournament showed what theyâre made of last week in the Battle Royal on Sacrifice, but perhaps, this young lady was one of the ones who stood out, making it to the end before being eliminated by Charity Crowne.
Rachel Grimes: Sheâs one of the youngest in this tournament, but from what Iâve gathered in my research, sheâs quite accomplished already for such a young age.
{The two women seem ready to compete, and with that, the bell rings and weâre under way.}Terri Morasco: Letâs get this thing started.
{The two women stand in the middle of the ring, both ready to make a move, but yet sizing their opponent up before locking up in a collar and elbow tie up. With a height and weight advantage against her though, this doesnât prove fruitful for the raven-haired young woman as Yulia pushes her back into the corner before the referee asks for a break and gets a clean one. Yulia takes a bow as Keira rolls her eyes, the two circling the ring again before locking up again, only this time, Keira uses her training and expertise to get behind Yulia, clubbing her in the upper back area, before being able to pull her backwards with a German Suplex, bridging into the first cover of the match only to get a two count!}Rachel Grimes: For someone so young, Keira obviously has some training.
Terri Morasco: She says she has been in random wrestling circuits since the age of sixteen.
Rachel Grimes: Well, it shows.
{Keira gets up and motions for Yulia to âbring itâ as she turns around. Keira hooks her for an Exploder Suplex, but Yulia elbows her way out of Keiraâs grasp before spinning and hitting her with a Pele Kick! She goes for the cover and only gets a two count before Keira gets her shoulder off the mat. Yulia sets up in the opposite corner as Keira pulls herself up with the ropes. Yulia charges in, looking for a Yakuza Kick, but Keira gets out of the way, leaving Yulia stranded in the corner. Keira runs to the ropes and upon return, buckles the long leg of Yulia with a Chop Block in the corner. She drags her to the center of the ring and spins into the Figure Four Leglock!}Terri Morasco: She has the Figure Four locked in, center of the ring!
Rachel Grimes: But Yulia has that long frame, and sheâs really not THAT far from the ropes Terri!
{Yulia squirms as Keira yells for her to tap. Yulia falls to her shoulders, the referee counting to two before she shoots herself onto her side! She pulls and scratches, and finally is able to reach the bottom rope, breaking the hold.}Terri Morasco: The referee forces her to break the hold.
Rachel Grimes: Yes, but the damage may already be done!
{Yulia turns and Keira lifts her onto her shoulders, but Yulia hits a few more elbows before sliding down Keiraâs back and pushing her forward into the ropes. Keira returns and Yulia goes for a Spinning Heel Kick, but Keira ducks and as Yulia spins around, she kicks her in the gut and plants her in the mat with a Double Arm DDT!}Rachel Grimes: Look at the transition!
{Keira keeps control of Yuliaâs arms and leaps over into a Last Chancery.}Terri Morasco: She calls that the âEndless Painâ!
{Yuliaâs face tells the story as she winces in pain. Eventually, it ends up being too much and she taps out to the hold! The bell rings and Keira releases the deadly submission.}Alison Valance: Here is your winner, advancing to round two...KEIRA...HUNTER!
{The crowd gives their applause.}Terri Morasco: That hold looked painful.
Rachel Grimes: As it should have. Just goes to show that experience and proper training are the way to go when it comes to professional wrestling.
{Keira climbs the turnbuckle as her music plays and plays up to the crowd who cheer her on as we go back to the commentary booth.}Terri Morasco: What a huge win for Keira over Yulia, becoming the final competitor to move on in the Diamond in the Rough.
Rachel Grimes: A hard fought match indeed. Both of these women could have moved on, too bad only one of them can.
Terri Morasco: We donât know who will be facing who next week. There will be a Triple Threat match and a Singles match in the second week of this tournament, and remember, next week, the Diamonds Champion Paige Garcia and her sister Sara will be joining us.
Rachel Grimes: Should be...interesting.
Terri Morasco: Well, thatâs all for tonight. Iâm Terri Morasco, sheâs Rachel Grimes, weâll see you next week!
{The camera goes back to the ring where Keira continues to celebrate her victory as the IWF and Diamond in the Rough logos appear on the bottom of the screen.}
