Spike and Andrew charge in, Andrew to Mike, Spike to Devlin, knocking them both off of the apron at the same time, falling back in the process.
“SO close…so …close…..Oh well Always next year I guess..”
Kate is staring at Devlin from the hotel Couch with a little smile wearing a Devlin Raine Shirt and Alexander on her lap.
“You Make it sound like we weren’t there Devlin… I saw it too. Missouri isn’t so far out babe. And you’re starting to sound like you’re in this for the long haul..”
Devlin chuckles and nods rubbing his neck and smiles at her.
“Does it surprise you? I work with some great people as much as I work with some asshats…But Man I haven’t felt this about a place in …a while.. I mean I’ve always gone out here, for the people by the people but I dunno it’s like ..I’m ..home? “
That got a raise of a Brow from Kate who smiled softly and chuckles.
“Wait a Minute, are you saying you might have actually found the place?”
Devlin nodded a bit and smiles softly even as he looks at his Phone beeping and a Tweet coming out and he sighs a bit and wrinkles his nose.
“Speaking of asshats.”
Kate peeked over with a raise of her brow.
“That Pandora chick? What’d you mean?”
Devlin shook his head and smirks softly.
“I hate to think of anybody being used by the veterans for any reason, worse yet She’s one of the rare good eggs, much as she’s a fuckin’ weirdo who’s –way- into her Music…but she. She actually cares about folk…’s kind of rare Kate.. And to think of her shacked up with ..Spike fuckin’ Kane..”
Kate slid closer with a frown.
“Spike Kane? What’s he doing now that isn’t just. Well. Hurting people?”
Devlin frowns a bit more and then his smile comes to his face as he lies just a bit with a chuckle.
“Who knows, either way Pandora’s a big girl. She look after herself right? She hasn’t asked for any help, and Spike’s the most dominant champion on the roster right now next to Paige Garcia…”
Kate puts a finger on his lips and she said with a soft, concerned tone..
“You can’t lie to me Devlin Raine…I can see it in your eyes… You’re planning something… Just answer me this, is It worth it?”
Devlin leant back and cocked his head at her to stroke her hair with a smile and he said gently.
“If not for Pandora, then for me…Yes. He’s got a Death grip on that thing. I’m not AJ… I’m not Falcon…But conversely. I’m not AJ…And I’m not Falcon ..Plus….I –gotta know- Kate…I have to push ..I have to go for it. Because hell, The man calls him self a God. And God is only a step up from Dragon..”
Kate had to chuckle at that and kiss his forehead.
“I hope he kicks your ass …You might learn some humility..”
Devlin sighed and muttered.
“I think this is terminal Kate. We both have to live with it..”
Kate sighed and reminded Devlin a bit gently.
“Don’t be a Hero Devlin….Just come back in one piece no matter what you do..”
A long pause and Devlin considers the request.
“No promises…I have other work to do first anyway.”
And we leave our heores just chilling out and hugging and being a lovey dovey couple, having a honest conversation about life and work and children and school.

So we find a door getting kicked open as Devlin comes charging in, dressed in his usual gear, smiling wide as arms open as he grins.
Insert DTV Logo in the bottom right corner as Devlin starts speaking.
“Friends! Imperialites! Countrymen! Listen up! I Devlin Raine wish to speak to you of upcoming bouts and fights of the past!”
Devlin stops his posing and scratches just above his eyebrow with a small smile.
“So, the Roulette didn’t go quite as planned, but I think I said it before, on any given night, no excuses I got caught on the apron, Me and Mike had a –hell- of a fight and we could argue whether or not one of us woulda made it, fact remains There are no excuses we got caught nappin’ and Spike made me pay just as AJ made you pay, that being Said Go, Go North Star! I hope you have the brains and the brawn to get the big one, you’ve fought long and –damn- hard but ..we’re talking’ about the future!”
Devlin rubs his hands together and nods even as the sky about him darkens and his voice gets a double echo whilst he speaks.
“Because coming soon, in Roulette fall out I face the one , the only Nighthawk!”
The ominous tones and weather suddenly lift as Delvin’s face brightens.
“So, hey again, This is getting to be a habit, I get to face you again and again and evry time you push my limits, every time we both have to hit hat little bit harder, and I’ll be honest Hawk, Fighting against you is –joy- you push my mind in ways it’s not had to be pushed in –forever- and in the end It usually comes down to which hone of us has that little bit extra in the gas tank, I think, by now you know I have the courage to go on, I don’t –need- sleep I don’t –need- anything more that the determination that I can, I will and I must face you even and that only –one- walk away with the victory!”
Devlin chuckles.
“But in the end Night hawk, though you’re hitting harder, hitting deepr and pulling out into your box of tricks more and more and more, you’re still the same man, still the same shape, you look at your self in a mirror and ask –who is the Nighthawk- and every day you have an answer, all you’re doing is flipping through a book you’ve read a thousand times and know from cover to cover, and don’t get me wrong…it’s a –deep- book with chapter and verse and bibliographies and treatise s form every country on the globe, an encyclopaedia…But in the end? It’s the same book…And I’m reading it every time you wrestle, every time you speak.”
Devlin smiles a little more.
“And that’s ok, because that means I just have to weather your storm, I just have to take what you can give, and give you much more and I have you cracked Nighthawk I’ve done it once…I’ve done it twice…and you know what they say about the best things coming in threes right?”
Devlin laughs and nods clapping as he shimmies a bit on the spot, undaunted as ever with the prospects ahead of him.
"That’s right.. It might never happen, but you see Hawk, I still look forwards to facing you every time, hell I look forwards to facing anyone on this roster I’m coming to realise, that everyone brings their own unique book of puzzles for me to solve, for me to pluck apart and wear down when it all comes together brand them with my Seal of “No Fate!” and Push my Destiny forwards! So Come Sacrifice Hawk, we will do this again and Though I respect you, I have to earn back a little of that pride lost on the floor of the Roulette …I have to take this as hard as I can because I’m going to Need courage where I’m going after you..”
Devlin smiles and chuckles as he leans back and looks up as if pondering and said gently.
“A hard road starts with you….And I couldn’t ask for anyone better to work against, see you soon where Destiny wills. ”
Devlin pauses and gives a respectful bow to the camera before capping off with a salute.
