5th April 2017 - Pretty Vacant
What’s up everyone? I haven’t posted in quite a while. In fact I haven’t posted anything ever since Eternity broke my arm. Pretty funny how something like that can send you into a spiral huh? Being injured made me take some time off, forced me to re-evaluate things, and get back to basics. I learned that professional wrestling is a crazy landscape, full of people that are happy to see you succeed, but also many who want nothing more than to watch you fail.
Being pushed to the top right away rubbed some people the wrong way, and it showed the world how inexperienced I was. Yeah, I got myself a Shield Maiden victory, that I’ll never forget. It’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life, hell - it’s probably going to be the best night of my life, professionally that is.
Thing is, I’m back now. I’ve been given a second chance, and I owe a big part of that to my best friend Kate Steele. She’s been my rock when I’ve been at my lowest, and if I’m honest? I was really looking forward to locking up with my girl in the Iron Maiden, but I guess fate has something else in store…..I love you girl, but I’m gonna go out there Monday Night and give it everything I have to earn my spot in that match. You might think it’s jumping in at the deep end, but hey….that’s what us Irish Lasses are good at…..you either sink or swim.
‘Cause we’re so pretty, oh, so pretty…..

We open up on the IWF Performance Center, up and coming trainees can be seen running drills in the background, with the voice of one Gibford Famularo cutting through, shouting out specific drills and numbers at them. Closer to the front of the frame we see Shea O’Hara standing in one of the empty rings, she leans over the ropes and has her bad arm stretched out in front of her, opening and closing it, making a fist and testing her strength.
“You’ll be good to go, trust me.”
The voice of Emma Danielson catches her off guard. Shea turns to smile at her, she’d been working with Emma for the last few weeks, getting back to basics. It was all well and good being trained by Adam Knite, Gib, and Spike Kane, but having a woman like Emma there in the PC to get in the ring with you made things that much better.
Shea: I know, I know. Just, it feels weird, y’know? Like it should still be in the cast.
Emma rolls into the ring and right to her feet, she approaches Shea and reaches out for her previously injured arm.
Emma: Come here…
Emma takes Shea’s hand and places it on her own shoulder, stretching out Shea’s arm.
Emma: Lean into me with all your strength, go on…
Shea does as she’s told, and leans forward onto her tiptoes as she pushes against Emma, barely making the coach move, but straining her arm enough to test its resilience.
Emma: Now make a fist….and do it again.
She does exactly as Emma says, repeating the process, without a slight grimace or groan. Emma takes Shea’s hand and lowers it down, looking her in the eye.
Emma: You went through something pretty traumatic Shea, it’s not going to get better until you get in the ring and force yourself to deal with it. You’re ready, I know you are. If you weren’t, do you really think I’d be letting you go back, rather than staying here with me?
The two share a smile as Shea adjusts herself again and goes back to leaning on the ropes, Emma follows suit and stands next to her, leaning over also.
Shea: Eternity took months of my career away from me, after everything that happened with Warren, I just…..it kills me seeing him on TV with her.
Emma: I’ve heard the same kind of talk from Andrew. You’re a lot like him you know? Always wanting to save everyone, but sometimes kid? People don’t want to be saved….
Shea lowers her head, shaking it..
Shea: I can’t accept that. Somewhere in there he’s still there, my friend is still there….SHE has done something to him…..but…
Emma: But you need to worry about yourself, like we talked about. Your arm is going to be a target for every girl walking into a match with you, if your mind is elsewhere that makes you a weak target. Focus on your match, prepare, train, and when all is said and done? ...we’ll still be here.
Shea: Speaking of training….
In the distance walking in from the changing rooms we see another main roster superstar, one half of the Renegades tag team Will Fennell. He stops for a brief second to talk to one or two of the rookies as he makes his way towards Shea and Emma.
Emma: Oooohhh, and how long have you two been ….”training”?
Shea nudges Emma in the rings, her face turning a slight shade of red.
Shea: We’re just friends, don’t embarrass me. We met at a show a few months ago, and we’ve been chatting, Will offered to help me train for my match….
Emma: Oh I see, Emma Danielson isn’t good enough for the great Shea O’Hara anymore?
Shea: Ha! Come on…..you’re the best!
Just then Will manages to get to the ring and looks up at both of the girls, nodding his head to them.
Will: Yo, whats up ladies?
Emma: Oh, Shea here was just telling me how you’re going to get her in better shape for her match than I could!
Shea grits her teeth and slaps Emma on the shoulder, who begins to laugh, Will joins in the laugh too, as he pulls himself up onto the apron.
Will: Nah, it ain’t like that. I’m just tryin’ to help our girl here. Anything I can do to help get her ready for Gabriella is all I wanna do.
Emma: Well then, how about we do some sparring, and some drills? Let’s see if the main roster has got you guys soft….
Will chuckles as the three of them stand in the ring now ready to go, and on the sounds of several men and women working their assess off to make it to IWF, and the bellowing voice of Gibford Famularo barking orders left right and center, we cut away.

9th April, 2017 - The Maiden’s Call
I’m not going to lie, it’s intimidating, you know? Your first match back after a nasty injury has such weighty consequences. Last year I qualified for the Iron Maiden and came up short, in every sense of the word. I didn’t win, I didn’t even win the Shield Maiden, I just lost….and ever since then my career when on a spiral. It’s no secret, and I’m not ashamed of it either, I’m woman enough to own up to it. I wasn’t ready, it was too much, but you know what?
It was one hell of a learning experience.
I took on some of the best women this company has seen, I got to get in the ring with them and mix it up, and every single time? You learn something new. If you don’t, then you’re just arrogant, and at that point, why bother? I know my first run in IWF didn’t live up to the promise that was laid out before me, but trust me when I tell you guys this…..I’m not here to play around, I’m here to get it done this time. To get down to brass tacks as they say. I’m training harder, running faster, hitting meaner, doing everything I can to reach that next level….and now there’s a whole new crop of ladies to mix it up with, and I’m not going to be big headed and pretend I’m above them.
….because I’m not.
Like Gabriella.
Girl, I’ve gotta give you mad props for the way you’ve stepped to Eternity. Nobody on the roster has got the guts that you have, and whilst some might call you stupid? I’m not one of them, you earned my respect before we’ve even stepped in the ring together. It takes a certain amount of confidence in your abilities to be able to face a woman like her with confidence, with bravado, and to take her to the limit? Very few women can say the same…..and I know I’m not one of them, but this isn’t a woe is me post. Far from it. I see the woman you are Gabby, I see your potential, and I see the drive you have to get there…...and I admire it. When I look through our ranks, there’s so many plastic bitches that are just here to get famous….it makes me sick, bitches who run their mouths but can never back them up - especially one on one….but not you.
You don’t care, you fight with your words as much as your fists…..and I like that.
So I’m going to prep myself as best as I can Gabby. I’m going to train as hard as I can, get myself into the best shape that I possibly can, because come Sacrifice? The Punk Rock Riot begins, Shea O’Hara returns….and the fans are going to kick up a fuss, and cause a riot….and us? We’re gonna tear the house down girl, we’re gonna show them how the Diamonds really throw down, and one of us is going to the Iron Maiden.
May the best woman win.
