And so it is that we find ourselves alone once again, my love.
He is gone.
Gone, but not forgotten.
Gone, as we all must go one day.
We, the forgotten sons and daughters, the lost and the lonely.
We, the children of Eternity.
My child, the unwanted son, shunned by his father - an outcast taken in.
Cast out from Heaven, and forged in Hell, a Hell unknown to all but us.
I know what that's like for we are kindred spirits, he and I.
His Angel, my Demon. My Angel, his Demon.
The blood, the pain, the memory, the world, the wounds. All are still fresh here. All are still flesh here. All are still his, and all his are still mine.
And so it is that we find ourselves alone once more, facing the unseen and the unknown.
Knowing only that they exist, somewhere out there, just as we do.
One day we will see them again, for the first time in a long time.
We are alone, together...
Now she knew she'd always be alone...
He is gone.

A young girl , much too young to be left alone like this, cradled her dying father in her lap.
The rain came down, the wind lashes her blonde and pink streaked hair across her face as she watches the colour drain from him, helplessly.
Daddy lay dying of a still fresh wound, the blood stained silver blade, stuck in his chest.
The rain came down, the wind lashes her blonde and pink streaked hair across her face as she watches the colour drain from him, helplessly.
Daddy lay dying of a still fresh wound, the blood stained silver blade, stuck in his chest.
"Never forget...who you are...my angel..." he whispered.
She saw a face through her tears, and she heard the sirens, but she knew they were already too late.
They were always too late, and now Daddy was dead.
And now she truly was all alone in this world.
They were always too late, and now Daddy was dead.
And now she truly was all alone in this world.
As he lay lifeless in her arms, she held on to him tighter, refusing to let go, to move beyond this moment even as Uncle Harry and Aunt Mary arrived, leading the paramedics.
"IT'S TOO LATE! HE'S GONE!"
"IT'S TOO LATE! HE'S GONE!"
But they didn't listen, they were more interested in getting her out of their way.
And so they tried their best, but she knew better.
He was gone now, and nobody would ever be able to bring him back.
No matter how hard they tried.
He was gone now, and nobody would ever be able to bring him back.
No matter how hard they tried.
Now she knew she'd always be alone...

The familiar purple smoke welcomes you once more into my world.
A world always just beyond your reach and your understanding.
A world in which Angels sing.
Angels: All my friends are heathens, take it slow
Wait for them to ask you who you know
Please don't make any sudden moves
You don't know the half of the abuse
All my friends are heathens, take it slow
Wait for them to ask you who you know
Please don't make any sudden moves
You don't know the half of the abuse
As your vision adjusts and you start to see beyond the billowing smoke, you find me once again.
Angels: Welcome to the room of people
Who have rooms of people that they loved one day
Docked away
Just because we check the guns at the door
Doesn't mean our brains will change from hand grenades
You're lovin' on the psychopath sitting next to you
You're lovin' on the murderer sitting next to you
You'll think, how'd I get here, sitting next to you?
But after all I've said, please don't forget...
As your vision adjusts and you start to see beyond the billowing smoke, ther voices start to fade and you find me once again.
Stood under a soft blue hue, alone and unopposed, continuing on, singing the same song.
All my friends are heathens, take it slow
Wait for them to ask you who you know
Please don't make any sudden moves
You don't know the half of the abuse...
A solitary Diamond still sparkling in the darkest corner of the room, the Shieldmaiden still wrapped securely around my waist, and a red spider lily nestled in my pink hair.
We don't deal with outsiders very well
They say newcomers have a certain smell
Yeah, trust issues, not to mention
They say they can smell your intentions
You're lovin' on the freakshow sitting next to you
You'll have some weird people sitting next to you
You'll think how did I get here, sitting next to you?
But after all I've said, please don't forget...
You then hear my voice transition from sweet song to hushed whisper as you hold my gaze.
A world always just beyond your reach and your understanding.
A world in which Angels sing.

He's gone, they say. She's too far gone, they say. Or is it that she's gone too far?
You see me shrug my shoulders.
I don't suppose it matters, certainly not to you Alicia. All that matters is that you're here now. You've made it. You've moved on in a way I never could. Trading one life for another. Trading the life of a watcher for the life of the watched. Another life among friends. A life I've never known. Another lifetime spent watching me, and since turnabout is fair play, I've watched you too. Alicia.
In your short life, I've watched you rise, and I've seen you fall.
In this short life, I've watched you stand out from the rest, and I've seen you bettered by the best.
Cut through the new, shred by the old. Something borrowed, something blue. Up, down, up, down, up down. Like breathing. Still breathing. This is and always will be your best attempt at a normal life. A life beyond the pain and memories best left alone. Wrestling control of your life and your future away from those who always told you they knew better.
For a time, you trust them. You believe them when they say they have your best interest at heart.
They promise to never hurt you, they promise to always love you, they promise never to leave you.
So many promises made, so many lies swallowed. Bitter little pills taken, one after another, after another, after another.
A lifetime spent wishing for and wanting a better tomorrow. A lifetime wasted, dreaming of another day. A better day, somewhere far away...
Oh yes, I remember those days!
Days spent wandering, days spent wondering. Days lost, travelling everywhere, going nowhere. Seeking meaning, direction, some point, something beyond the utter futility of this finite existence. Lost at sea, adrift. Drifting across continents, searching for peace and purpose.
I will never forget those days Alicia, and now here we are.
Both a part of this strange new turn in the road of life. The life of a wrestler. The only life that has ever made sense to people like us, Alicia.
In any life we would be shunned, ridiculed and mocked but here, in between those ropes, we belong.
We have always belonged here, among the men and the myth. The beautiful pageantry of it all has brought you here, hasn't it Alicia?
Brought you to me.
We both know what this is for you Alicia, it is a chance to leave the darker days behind. A small window of opportunity in which to leave your past behind, and start a new life.
Oh yes, I remember those days!
Oh yes, I remember that dream!
It was nice whilst it lasted, but that's just not the world we live in.
In our world, nothing ever lasts, not even those days.
It's a new day now, yes it is, one where we look forward and not back. Forward, always forward, so say your betters. Maidens of the past and present, and now we see you in our future.
Just ahead, but not by much, never by much.
Stepping over rising warriors, better than most but not all.
It's a tough lesson Alicia, but one you will not forget.
You will never forget me, none of them will. Not now. Not ever. Not this close to immortality. One more step on my journey. One more short day before endless night. My night. Eternal night. Black, starless, cold. The bright lights extinguished, the curtain drawn, and the window of your opportunity closing.
Closing in, always closing in.
The walls, the padded walls. Bouncing off them. Bouncing back.
Live to fight another day Alicia, there's always tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day, if it ever comes.
You've waited your whole life for a day like Monday, but like every other day, it will soon be over. It will all be over soon, Alicia. The cycle will continue, and the sun sets even on those from the land of the rising, and then they will know which burns brighter...your fire, or mine.
Dragon's breath scorches new flesh, and soon it too will be ash.
Dreamers against reality, and soon she will sleep once more, but not soundly. Never soundly. No, never again.
Fresh memory, freshest blood, stains our battle ground and paints the darkest corners of my mind.
You see me then look up towards Heaven.
I will never forget, Daddy, and neither will those who send her to me now...
You see me then look directly at you once more, whispering her name.
Alicia...
Such a pretty name, made prettier by the lights in your head, I'm sure. I cannot promise that you will ever see those lights Alicia, but I promise you that I will always remember you.
I will always remember the fallen...
You see me shrug my shoulders.
I don't suppose it matters, certainly not to you Alicia. All that matters is that you're here now. You've made it. You've moved on in a way I never could. Trading one life for another.
