Since the inception of IWF one of the single biggest matches of the year is the Joker in the Pack match. For those unfamiliar it is a six (or more) man ladder match, hanging above the ring is a guaranteed shot at the Imperial Championship. We've seen many great men hold the brief case like Alex Jones and Mike Laszlo, both former Imperial Champions.
This year we are treated to a very interesting collection of talent, not necessarily men who would think of when thinking of the Imperial Championship scene but me who have all proved they belong in an IWF ring.
But their talent and credentials aren't what I am here to discuss. Rather I'd like to give my prediction on this extremely unpredictable match.
Devlin Raine is the first annual winner of the Cruiser Weight Invitational and has bounced in and out of title discussions since. This match up is right in his wheel house but he's facing off with formidable foes.
Will Fenell is a man that Devlin Raine knows well and like Raine has really etched out a niche in IWF but now would be exactly the right time to break through the glass ceiling and grab that brass ring.
The Lost Boys, an interesting addition to the match indeed. They are tag team partners who have worked all over the world together and are used to sharing success. It's hard for to imagine a situation where they wouldn't work well together even if only one of them reaps the rewards.
Derek Brooks, in my opinion he's the dark horse in this match. He has all the criteria one looks for when creating a main event level talent in your mind except for the wins. He has yet to really find his footing in IWF but maybe this Sunday he will put all the pieces together?
Ryan Shane burst back into IWF last year and went on a serious tear with the Man of Steel Championship, finding success unlike he had found here before. Ryan Shane seemed to be strapped to a rocket to the top of IWF before he was forced to take time off. Now he is back and it seems just as good if not better than before.
With all of that in mind it is of this writers opinion that Ryan Shane will be the man to step off the ladder with the brief case in hand. When he is motivated there are few others as good as Ryan Shane and there is nothing more motivating than a guaranteed Imperial title match.
