Night of the Immortals was billed as the ending of some great rivalries and the beginning of some new journeys and it was exactly that and so much more.
However there was one rivalry that transcended its own billing, one match that went above and beyond the limits of the human body, two men who stepped into the ring together for the last time.
Angel Blake vs Falcon.
The final battle in a war that spread through out multiple promotions and all over the world. Truly it was the ending of war that saw Falcon fall from over forty feet in the air through several tables. His career was over when he stepped into the ring but as I sit here Tuesday morning it is still unknown if his life will be able to carry on resembling anything considered normal.
Falcon was stretchered out of the arena and the hospital as well as his representatives have been quiet ever since. It's clear whatever injuries he sustained are pretty serious and IWF is waiting to make an announcement on him.
But there was another man in that match. Angel Blake aka God. He may not have fallen from forty feet up but he too suffered through a beating unlike we have ever seen before. The mental condition of Angel has been in question for years but after Night of the Immortals we are left wondering did we just see the end of the reign of God?
Or simply the beginning of yet another terrifying journey?
No one saw Angel Blake leave the arena and no one has been able to reach him since Sunday night. It's very possible we saw the end of two careers Sunday night... It is also possible that with the final defeat of Falcon we may be about to see the man called God return full time to IWF intent on raining down bloody horror all over again.
Only time will truly tell.
Personally I hope Blake takes the opportunity to leave on a high note instead of trying to drag us all to Hell with him...
