There has been considerable buzz from fans around the world following the historic Shieldmaiden match at Night of the Immortals, with many feeling that the match as a whole felt rather anticlimactic, given that it not only marked the end of a six month reign by the most dominant Champion in that title's history, but also Shea O'Hara becoming the first woman to hold that Championship twice.
The build up to the match, and its conclusion was something of a real life fairy tale for Shea as both women told the story of her redemption and triumphant comeback from injury to finally vanquish the Champion who had put her out of action with a broken arm last October, but some fans felt the match underdelivered.
Now sources inside IWF have confirmed for us that the original plans for this match were cut short in the interest of time, and the unexpected overrun of some of the other matches on the card.
Some fans even voiced concern that Shea put Eternity down too easily, but our sources insist that the finish was designed to deliver specific impact and to enhance Shea's credibility and the significance of her moment.
