Background Music: The Last of Us – Gustavo Sanatolalla
The European tour had taught Pandora few things already, mostly Spike and Booze, She hadn’t even considered it, she realized as much as she cared, they didn’t really know each other, just accepting the here and now.
So in London, England they sat in the hotel, she’d wrinkled her nose even as she spoke softly moving towards him with a serious look though she couldn’t hide the tone of her voice.
“We don’t really know each other, do we? I mean we –know- each other but we’ve never asked questions.”
Spike looked at her as Pan took a seat next to him and ran a hand over his arm, then up his face as she spoke evenly smiling.
“I was Born I hope, but I grew up around Carnies and was home schooled, My uncle was a Stage magician, and my Mom was a fortune teller, The first instrument I learned to play was an organ.”
Pan chuckles.
“I ran away from the circus to become a professional wrestler.”
She looked at him, long and hard and smiles softly.
“I can’t say Anything else after that was all that special, the rest? You know, Girlfriends ,boyfriends, wrestling, music, Japan was fun.”
Pan went to speak once more and Spike put his fingers on her lips which he drew a confused look and she gazed quietly whilst he chuckles and looks dead serious just after.
“You know it’s not all Sunshine and rainbows Pandora, you sure you want to know?”
Pan took Spike’s hand away and said with a slight smile.
“Life is pain, anyone who says different is selling something, if we’re gonna do this Spike I need to know what the Boundaries are, where I can push lean where I have to shrink back, Dublin told me I got –really- close to snapping over a boundary and I caught it when I saw you drinkin’ Pepsi , yeah I noticed. I’ve only scratched the surface of you Michael…I wanna know more.”
Spike looked her hard for a moment, she had a way of opening up to him In a way he never expected, but always s loved, even after everything she still had faith, she remained by her word
“I Have no idea how you do it Pandora.”
She smiled gently as she leaned in against him.
“Do what, Mister Kane?”
Oh she was back to teasing again it seems, that made Spike actually smile at her as she ruffled her hair and pulled her in close.
“How you manage to make the world seem a little less terrible everyday.”
Pan laughs.
“Not Less Terrible. Just Tolerable.. Everybody needs a lighthouse Spike.”
Spike chuckles at that and cocked his head.
“You remembered that?”
Pan smiles with a chuckle.
“I wasn’t that wasted.”
They embraced a little tighter to the point where Pan was almost in his lap and she looked down with a chuckle before she planted a kiss on him and muttered softly.
“See? better already”
And so we leave our lovely couple, things needed to be said.
Background Music: I Lived on the Moon – Kwoon
Everybody knows London by day, the sights and the sounds Our camera chooses to find Pandora sat not in front of any particular famous landmark her blue haired form and rainbow’d lips instead sit by a tiled wall next to a Tube station sign and the station in question?
Camden Town.
One of the London Underground trains starts to pull up and Pan smiles brightly at the camera gesturing it to follow as she finds a seat and finally even as the train begins to roll Pan chooses to speak, her words caught in the strange acoustic mess of the train cabin.
“So the dance begins again, I find myself surround on all sides and one woman has stood out so much that Management have seen fit to push her my way, and well one would argue it was her turn next anyway, given how she‘s been sniffing around with Caffey and Garcia just before the dawn rose, I’m talking about you Gabriela, And I can’t help but notice something; is a little off already.”
Pan leans forwards , her visage briefly cut out by a switch on the rails killing the power , illuminating her smirk as she glares into the camera.
“It’s just how quiet you’ve been, I mean you’re usually right in their face, chica spittin’ mad fire and where you been Hon? I mean whilst you been slackin’ I’ve been working my ass off to keep in tip top. Because I have what I came for and I’m not lookin’ to lose it so quickly, as a matter of fact? I’m looking to even our score and show you just how much better at the dance I got since we last met.”
Pan chuckles and shakes her head a bit.
“And what fun it will be, this is about me defending that belt from you. You’ve been on a tear, you’ve gotten in everyone’s face and now I have it you seem to just not be there.”
Pan shrugs and shook her head.
“What gives Gabby? Am I not worth it? ‘Cause that’s a mistake I’m willing to make you pay for. I see the way to look at the world, like it owes you something like you’re sticking two fingers up there and telling everyone you’re the baddest and you’re willing to prove it hell or high water, you’ve brought the best outta everyone and that should be what it’s about.”
She sighs looking about.
“See I’m really really amped about facing you I’m really amped about what happens next about the challenges I face, because I see the prize, and the prize isn’t this belt, this belt is a validation of all my hard work for the last few months yes, but it means nothing if I can’t make it stick If I’m a 'one and done'. ”
She looks at the camera with a sudden burst of intensity that could only be described as channeling Spike
“Do your worst, because I do not plan on letting this go and I will not go quietly into the night If you want it? I will make you earn it, I will make you feel every blow and every beat of every drum will join me.”
Pan is blacked out by another passing light flicker and has moved to stretch along the seat with her eyes looking to ceiling and grinning.
“From here to Eternity miss Luna. Bring your cute name calling, bring that fire I want so badly Bring every ounce of skill and together we’re going to show all of them the Diamonds shine brighter than they ever did, bring every piece of your heart and soul and help me prove Garcia wrong. Help me show those who doubt there there’s room up here for more than two names, You are the first defense I am determined you won’t be my last.”
She bows her head and grins.
“After all we all recognize that I’m the problem here. And I aim to be a problem for a –long- time, to dance, to sing to swing and to Drop. That. Beat”
Pan sits bolt upright and grins as she says to the air.
“The moon has shined, Let the red sun rise!”
Pan stands up as the train starts to slow and she moves to the door with a chuckle looking over her shoulder.
“Come Sunday? We’ll be dancing my tune, singing my song see you there Gabby Girl.”
Pan starts to step off the train even as we fade to black catching the stop she’s gotten off at.
Mornington Crescent.
